These posts are old! This is an amazing event. I was so inspired by it that I became a volunteer! Come early because it is packed by the afternoon. Super cute children and doggie costume contests in the morning, a pumpkin patch, tons of games, storytelling, trick or treating and great live entertainment. The parade starts at 6:00 and gets bigger every year. Grab a spot early cuz the streets are packed. The haunted house is amazing. The line is totally worth it. It isn't violent but it totally makes grown men yelp like little girls. The illusions are super cool. The graveyard is my favorite. No spoiler alerts here but there is a head on a table cheerfully greeting people and a huge spider with a person in it's web asking for help as the spider jumps to protect its prey. Totally worth it. Can't wait for this year! Even bigger and better than ever!

Like... there are people who actually write reviews about their favorite freeways, so I get it now. No judgement though. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, yeah? For a while, my OC people would mention Old Towne Orange and how it's such a nice spot to browse thru vintage/thrift shops and walk around. Honestly, I agree. As someone who's spoiled with places like North Park, South Park, Mission Hills in San Diego (and also Old Town), I never really thought much to come here. Loved all the charming shops around, though. Time felt slow here and strangers felt like neighbors. A memorable moment from this past Saturday was when my friends and I stopped to sit at the bench in the middle of Orange Circle; Met the nicest old man with the cutest and friendliest dogs. Before he left, he joked to my friends and I about how his dogs were always running away from him, like the ladies in life (obviously he wasn't rude or creepy about it). And that entire experience at Old Towne Orange made me think about how many of us yearn for connection and communities like that again. Out-of-towners: If you want something different than Disneyland or Porto's for your weekend trip outing, but still want the actual nostalgic charm experience of the ~good ol days~, look no further.

I think I was a little hesitant because in my head I was thinking how good could possibly really be? In my head spaghetti/pasta is something I can make it home and almost thought it a waste of money to go out of my way to go out specifically to eat this dish. I ordered the Arrabiata pasta with the sausage. I'll admit I was a little thrown off by added cost of each tolling and also added cost of the Arrabiata sauce and I also did wait until a fair amount before the food was ready for takeout. But the pasta really blew me away. I'm still thinking about how good it tasted. I would definitely come back and I actually wanna bring my dad who loves spicy pasta like this. It was really that good. I can't think of another place that has this level of pasta let alone this price. The only negative I would say in regards to one of the workers. The cashier was manned by wonderful woman who did every and all tasks from taking the orders to putting food items in the oven to answering the phone I'm probably much more than that. I don't know. In contrast there was an Asian man with a black shirt who was also working. He looked lost and completely helpless. There was a moment where this woman was so busy and there was a ringing that I assume was from either a phone call or a delivery order. This man did not offer to help more nor did he help from what I saw. He was utterly helpless and unhelpful. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt with the encouragement "Hey help your team out!" The woman on the other hand was doing so many things simultaneously and yet was really kind at the same time. Anyways, I'm giving my review of a five star because I wanna see this place succeed and I'll definitely come back .

The bread they served while we waited for food was extremely salty and inedible. Their steak Italian sandwich was dry. It needed sauce or something. 24 straight hours at Disneyland, how can you go wrong?…read more The last time something like this happened was 25 years ago when Disneyland turned 25 and they stayed open for 25 straight hours. Special food options, special entertainment and of course stuff to buy! I got there midway through the afternoon, I had friends who lined up at 10pm the night before since they were giving special edition Mickey ears to the first 2000 people through the gate. They had 3000 people there before the gates even opened at 6am. When I arrived in the afternoon it was busy, but not overly busy. Later in the day it was a different story...they actually hit capacity a few times and closed on more than one occasion. From 930pm to 1am they wouldn't let anyone in at all. The lines got worse as the night wore on, at 4am the line for Space Mountain was 140 minutes long. BUT...if you were there, you didn't really care about riding any rides, you just wanted to be a part of history. I really hope Disneyland does something like this again...I would be one of the first people through the gates. :0)

After all, what better way to spend your extra day that only comes every four years at Disneyland? The problem was, everyone in their Mom was about to go balls-to-the-wall on this day as well. I know a few of my friends who stayed the entire 24 hours from 6AM on February 29th to 6AM on March 1st, and for them spending that long at Disneyland was probably worth it. However, the throngs of people I encountered when I attempted to walk through the happiest place on Earth was pretty difficult to endure. I went at night to do it for the story, and maybe stay a little bit their usual hours, but by by the time 11:30 rolled around, it was definitely not worth it. Literally, navigating down Main Street meant being sandwiched between strangers, nearly losing my friends and feeling like cattle. We only got to ride IJ with a wait of about 40 minutes, and that in itself was kind of a miracle because they had shut down the ride (unknown to us), and when they opened it up again, we nearly breezed through the maze. Next, we tried to check out Thunder Mountain Railroad but we found a 2 hour wait...say what? That was when my tiredness had gotten the best of me and I decided to get some ice cream and call it a day. When we left Dland was at capacity...that's like 75,000 people! No wonder the waiting times became sky high. While it was nice to be a part of Disney history, it definitely wasn't "as good as it gets", I'm not a fan, and it wasn't even just "A-OK". Sorry Walt but I've had better than becoming claustrophobic on Main Street.

The artistic message in placing it on campus seems to be that everything is impermanent. Each piece is supposedly strategically placed with his groin facing down, rear-end up in the air. Supposedly there's a local superstition that students receive good luck on tests rubbing a butt piece clockwise or counterclockwise, but truthfully I think the only people spreading this notion are campus tour guides. Still it's funny walking by on your way to class and see some hipsters having a drum circle or reading while sitting on that supposedly lucky piece.

So come on you guys. Fix that statue and make your campus look its best!
