In the anteroom/entrance, there is a…read moregift shop, public restrooms, and a convenient storage area for items that aren't allowed inside the galleries (water, food, large backpacks). Near the back of the main entrance, there is a free rotating gallery currently showcasing the Travelers exhibition. As of 7/25/26, the main exhibition features mixed-media works by local artists. I really enjoyed the curation! It felt intentional and flowed well, with multiple pieces from the same artists displayed throughout the exhibit. I appreciated that the artists' labels included their Instagram handles which makes it a lot easy to discover and support their work beyond the museum! In addition to the main exhibition, there are a few smaller galleries. One is currently dedicated to Leo Fender inside the main gallery.

The downtown Fullerton art walk happens on the first Friday of every month. This happens all year round. It seems like the event was more popular maybe pre-covid? Not too sure. You can walk around downtown, and you will see signs put out for the businesses that are participating. It seems like the hours vary depending on the business. So, some were closed when we went. It may be a good idea to go during the day, so you can hit all of the places before they close. We got to see some art. It was cool. It's always fun exploring downtown Fullerton! Not bad for a free event. It's not something you have to run to go do. It was alright for what it is. A free event to do on a Friday, once a month lol

This review is more for the Third Year Anniversary Event. My first Artwalk was during their third…read moreyear anniversary which was held in the plaza of the Fullerton Museum Center. It was cool how everything was gathered in one place and there was a lot of festivities: photobooth, live music, food trucks, beer and wine garden, arts and crafts booth for kids, etc. The museum gift shop was also open to browse. Great atmosphere and nice to walk around, though I didn't really get involved too much with the booths. I was there mostly to browse and soak in the atmosphere. And to get grub from the food trucks, haha. The gathering was a lot smaller than I thought and I was expecting to see a lot more, but it's ok. I enjoyed the atmosphere. Parking was a breeze since they were set up right next to a couple of free public parking garages. All in all, the event provided some great atmosphere, but I'm not sure if a normal Artwalk would be for me. I suppose if I had nothing better to do on a Friday night and wanted to soak in some local art, I'd go again.

Visited the UC Irvine Langson OCMA at the Segerstrom Center campus today. The front desk staff are also incredibly friendly and helpful, which made for a great welcome. They have useful amenities like lockers available on-site, and there's a huge outdoor patio and bar on the first floor that's perfect for hanging out.parking structure validates 2 hr parking i guess. Verify it though. Pro Tip: Don't bother with the local paid structures. Just park near South Coast Plaza for free and take the short walk over.

A moment of silent joy should be observed today!…read more So many years ago, actually decades now many lives were lost in the 9/11 attacks. So many lives lost in utter chaos and terror. We keep telling the stories so that we may remember their sacrifices. You are not forgotten. That day, September 11, 2001; a plane crashes into a building. Then another plane. Is the world going crazy? Could this really happen? Yes, and imagine that you were at the top of the World Trade Center building. No way out but burn or jump. Which door and they both hurt! Imagine what they felt. As we remember today, never forgot those that ran into that burning building with no care for their own lives, but to save others. These days that sort of bravery truly does not exist. Or does it? In our world we get caught up but when a tragic event comes around we unite under the same name. We rise up and no one can bring us down. As you walk through life today remember that you are free because a stranger whom has no name is fighting for you. Our police, fire, medical, and soldiers make it possible for our mundane lives to have so much meaning. This salute to those that gave and lost their lives is one individuals dedication to keeping the flame of happiness and love alive. As you walk the rows so many flags with unknown names to us litter the ground. They all have a story. Will you ever know their story no? But we can remember that they were humans, citizens of this great nation whom had families that never saw them again. They left their houses one day to go out into life with no after thought. Kiss the family goodbye, but never to return. Only in a memory somewhere are their places. We can celebrate their lives by keeping their sacrifices fresh. All around the world the world said a prayer has America was dealt such a blow. Queen Elizabeth even sent prayers to the United States to preserve peace and healing. "Grief is the price of love." These famous words should make one look inside and reflect on the Queens beauty blessings to America. Through grief comes tragic loss and unhappiness; but light and love will conquer that darkness. Remember those that have so much. From the ordinary citizen to a fire fighter trying to help you and me because it was their calling. Our flag flies high and shines brightly for those that have moved on. We remember in their sacrifices. Although we don't know their stores, we all share a commonality that we are all Americans. We are those that stand tall and will forever remember!

One of the two tunnels that go under Wilshire (the one closer to Park View Street) connecting the…read moretwo halves of MacArthur Park, is covered in 10 graffiti-style murals promoting education, music, Christianity, clean and sober living, and achieving dreams. Some of the murals are a bit horrific, showing a woman seemingly poisoning her child with drugs and skeletal people chained by poverty. The murals are all vibrant, and most of the people who go through the tunnel tend to ignore the art. When Brandon D. and I walked through and started taking pictures, it was then that others stopped to look. A couple of men remarked that they never really paid attention to the art on the walls before. Since this is a tunnel, the murals can be hard to see, even during the day when bright light floods the passage. The paint that was used is somewhat shiny, so it further makes it difficult to see from certain angles. However, looking down the tunnel from the lake side before sunset is glorious as all the colors pop from that angle. Graffiti art has this stigma attached, and really it's a vivid and versatile form. Glad to see someone's putting it toward positive messages.

This could mean video terminals that tell snippets of a murder mystery, the plot of which dynamically changes according to where visitors use their RFID cards. Or it could be a show where you navigate robots to make music. Or a display of sound pieces "sculpted" around pollution data. Your head spinning yet? Yeah, Beall's shows are hard to explain -- and their press releases are notoriously dense. But you get it when you're there in person. Beall is on the first floor of the Claire Trevor School of the Arts. From Campus Drive (the college is on one side, and the shopping center with In-N-Out, Edwards movie etc on the other), turn into West Peltason Drive. Turn at the first left, then left again into the garage. Once you're past the garage gate, turn left to park at the hourly meters so that you won't have to pay the all-day parking fee. From the garage, walk back to West Peltason, then go up the slope (away from Campus) and follow the path past a few dorms to the arts building.
