I arrived within the first half hour after opening to try and beat the heat. Even though it was still warm, there were plenty of shaded areas to stay cool along with benches that were great for relaxing. There was also a breeze so that helped. Thought about spending an hour there but glad I paid for two hours of parking because I ended up staying for 1 & 1/2 hours. One of my favorite moments were simply sitting on a bench listening to all the birds. Hopefully you can hear them on the video. This is a peaceful place to unwind and definitely encourage you to visit.

We spent a lot of time admiring a group of docile ducks and enjoying the shade by the water. They also have an online plant shop for those interested in gardening (with a great ongoing deal). The Brea location has more seating than other locations I've been to, which makes it a bit more forgiving if you try to do a walk-in. Reservations are made online and cost $5/person, which goes towards your total. From a large palette, you choose five colors. Sometimes if a friend and I want to use the same color, we'll just put it on one person's plate, which ends up giving us more color options overall! There's also a guide on each table with tips for different ceramic painting techniques. There's a cup of various styles and sizes of paintbrushes, and you can also request for a thin bottle for writing or detail-work. You get two hours to paint, but I've never felt rushed with either picking my piece or during the actual painting process. The staff here are always so attentive, courteous, and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. I've noticed that when it gets super busy and you need a paint refill and someone hasn't come by, don't be afraid to raise your hand or walk over to someone, everyone is super friendly. They have a great selection of pottery, and you just pay the price of your piece plus the flat studio fee. The space is clean, and I love that they also offer outdoor seating. Since it's right in the middle of downtown Brea, it's fun to people watch and enjoy the vibe outside on a warm day. They'll occasionally have special events or deals too, like student nights with a discounted studio fee. With its central location in downtown Brea, it's such a perfect spot to catch up with friends, celebrate a birthday, or have a cute date!

There is a ton to choose from and they come in all different prices. Once we picked our pottery, we picked our paint, and provided pain brushes. We were checked on often and provided paint refills, the service was terrific. We had small talk with the ladies and they all have great, which made the experience that much more fun. I can't wait for our pottery to be baked (whatever it's called) so we can see our finished products.

All the employees are helpful and kind. They check in a right amount, and do a great job not making you feel rushed. 10/10 environment. Their pieces change through the year, so it's nice to come back and find seasonal things to paint. They close at 9:00pm, but we've found ourselves here for a few hours, so plan accordingly! The only downsides I've found are after the firing process is done. Some of our old pieces from when we first came a few years ago have crazing, which makes the pottery unsafe for food or drink. If your piece is for decoration, it should be fine. I haven't noticed it on newer pieces, so they may have adjusted the way their fire them. The second thing is that all my pieces, new and old, have pin marks from being supported in the kiln. It prevents a smooth surface, but also, I've noticed it's an entry way for moisture, which makes it unsafe for food and drink. One of my pieces held onto moisture after washing it because of the pin holes. All this to say, it doesn't deter us from visiting. We still love coming to Kitsch and will continue to visit. Its a great place to catch up, go on a date, or just hang out.

I received an invoice and contract, and while the contract did state they could cancel due to weather, I was in constant communication with them all week about the rain. I sent pictures of where the setup would be, discussed the weather multiple times, and spoke with them the day before the event. They even confirmed the morning of the party at 9:26 that there would be no issues. The party was scheduled to start at 3:00 PM. At 11:20 AM that same day, I received a call from the owner's husband saying there was too much rain and they could not come out because it would compromise their equipment. This was extremely upsetting, especially since the rain forecast had been known all week and they continued to reassure and confirm up until that morning. When I expressed how upset I was and explained that this ruined my daughter's birthday plans, his response was, "Well actually, we didn't ruin it," which I found very unprofessional given the circumstances. I was so upset that I ended the call. I understand weather-related policies, but the lack of consistency, last-minute cancellation, and dismissive response made this a very disappointing experience, especially for a milestone event like a Sweet 16.
