However, instead of writing purely out of frustration, I want to highlight the areas that truly need improvement because the experience has been devastating, disappointing, and frustrating for many students. One of the biggest issues with this school is the lack of an open-door policy when it comes to student concerns, guidance, and resolution. Unfortunately, it often feels like it is "the school's way or the highway." Students frequently feel unheard, dismissed, and undermined, even when bringing forward serious and valid concerns. Another major issue is the constant policy and program changes. Cohort contracts are changed unexpectedly, resulting in students attending longer than originally anticipated. In addition, students are sometimes required to retest under circumstances that feel unjustified and poorly managed. For example, my cohort took our exit exam on May 8th, and many of us passed. Days later, we were informed that the exam had been invalidated due to vendor-related errors. Imagine the emotional distress and disappointment that caused after students had already worked tirelessly to succeed. Situations like this should be prevented through better oversight, communication, and coordination with testing vendors before exams are administered. The school also lacks empathy and flexibility when students face real-life challenges. Many of us have families, jobs, financial responsibilities, and personal hardships, yet accommodations are often discussed and later retracted. As a nursing school that teaches compassion and patient-centered care, it is disappointing to experience such little empathy and support toward students. To future students considering this program: understand that your concerns may not always be acknowledged, even when they are valid. Many students feel unsupported not only by the school administration, but also when attempting to escalate concerns externally. I will say there are some positives. The grading scale is fair, the online theory format can be convenient, and there are several excellent clinical instructors who genuinely care about student success. However, management, communication, consistency, and student advocacy need significant improvement. There are only a few theory instructors who truly stand out positively. Additionally, the heavy reliance on ATI and Capstone testing may work for some students, but not everyone learns the same way. Success cannot be measured solely through repetitive testing strategies. Many students succeed because of outside tutoring, independent study groups, determination, and personal discipline. Nursing schools should recognize that different learning styles require different approaches. Overall, my cohort experienced a significant amount of stress, inconsistency, and frustration throughout this process. The first class in the program is Code Intro which is taught by Mr. Kahn who is a very kind man and clearly cares about the success of his students, he takes the time to explain everything and will help you himself if you are having a hard time with any of the material covered in the class. I passed Code Intro with no issues and would soon find out that unfortunately after Code Intro the following class and its teacher would be drastically different. The following class after Code Intro is Code A which is taught by Mr. Winton--I was honestly quite surprised at how much of a gap in difficulty there was between Code Intro and Code A the school really does an awful job of preparing you for the transition between classes. Mr. Winton is a nice guy sure, but his teaching method is honestly pretty awful his entire routine is to go over the NEC lecture book for the first half of class and will then briefly tell you about the lab project you have due at the end of the week, he barely takes any time to explain what you need to do in the lab and doesn't really tell you how to do it he just assumes that coming straight from Code Intro you'll know what to do even though students at that point most likely have had no experience working on a panel. Mr. Winton also for lack of a better term seems to have pretty bad ADHD either that or he just gets very easily distracted because he loves going on these wild tangents and going into these personal anecdotes. He also will literally tell the entire class that students often have a hard time doing well with the exams that he creates, if students are known to have a hard time with the exams you make then shouldn't you consider changing your approach to them? The fact that he so gleefully told us that was pretty amazing...I graduated from a four-year college and boy would I have hated to have a professor like Mr. Winton, I sincerely hope that the school somehow sees this and decides to take action and have a discussion with him. Besides Mr. Winton's subpar teaching methods the work in the lab was honestly never enjoyable, you feel extremely self-conscious about the work you need to do and if you need any help from the lab assistants boy oh boy prepared to feel judged. One lab assistant in particular, Russell, has quite a bad attitude and is extremely judgey and passive aggressive I honestly have no idea how someone like him who seems to have pretty bad social skills was able to become an assistant in a school--maybe he actually is good at electrical work but that doesn't necessarily qualify him to be teaching students in a school. Besides everything I've mentioned one other thing I need to bring up is how cheap the materials department is, all the materials they give you feel extremely cheap and are of course overpriced. One day I forgot my hard hat at home and needed to get one in order to work in the lab that day, I went to the materials department and asked if I could get a replacement one and they actually told me that I had to go to a nearby Home Depot and get one myself. Hard hats are extremely cheap and easy to find I got myself one at Home Depot for $10, the fact that they weren't willing to give me one while I was paying thousands of dollars to be in that class did not sit well with me. All in all this was an enormous waste of my time and energy, had the program continued in a class style similar to Code Intro I most likely would have stayed however unfortunately the quality of the program fell off of a cliff soon after. I luckily had someone paying for my classes and I genuinely feel bad for them spending their money, this program is sure as hell not worth $20k you're better off either finding a different program or just learning a different trade at a community college.

One of the biggest reasons I enrolled was because of the school's promises regarding career support and help with employment after graduation--but that support was not there when I needed it. In fact, due to poor communication and lack of follow-through, I lost out on a job opportunity. Career services was often rude and unhelpful, and when problems were brought up, they were rarely addressed or taken seriously. I constantly felt like I had to chase answers instead of receiving support as a student. The most frustrating part was near graduation. I was told my graduation would be delayed because of an alleged unpaid balance--even though I had made all my payments, including my cap and gown, with no missed payments whatsoever. I almost missed my graduation entirely because no one contacted me to let me know there was supposedly an issue. The only reason it was caught was because I called them myself. For a school that claims to support its students, my experience was the complete opposite. This process caused unnecessary stress, frustration, and disappointment. Students deserve better communication, accountability, and support than what I received here.

Public safety is also really wonderful with you and they're really caring. One of the Public Safety officers was comforting me when I was taken to the hospital on a suicide attempt at 18. This place also has an annual event called Take Back the Night where survivors of sexual assault speak out at the Fish Interfaith Center. Speaking of the Fish Interfaith Center, this place is also incredibly inclusive to people from different religious backgrounds. This place celebrates religious holidays for students from different religions. I find that really nice. I also love how this place allows people, who aren't Chapman students or staff, to come to this place. I met an older man who wanted to know how to find this place for an Iftar dinner. I showed him where it was and he went in here, and he got the food. This place has also been really wonderful to me when I was a victim of financial sextortion at 18. I met a lot of people who were amazing and kind to me after I shared with them about my experience. I had a case manager who comforted me when I was going through the trauma of this. I also had a professor who comforted me and told me that financial sextortion wasn't my fault at all. The 4th floor on the Argyos Forum is a great place for career fairs, and a great place to meet with potential employers. I got a chance to meet with a Secret Service employer who was such a wonderful man. This place also has wonderful areas to take your graduation photos from. In fact, if you come here during the months of April to mid-May, you'll find lots of graduating students posing for photographers.
