I recently graduated from the DMS program from Platt college (Anaheim) in which I am proud and glad I got the opportunity to experience. Everyone there was really supportive and always had a good attitude. The instructors and staff always greeted me and were really nice. Dr. Yousef, Amanda, Ms.Mili, Ms.Maggie, Brian, Lisa, and Kasey were all a huge part of my education within the field. I'm very thankful they were always there to teach me and help me through any questions I ever had. I also had lots of help from my peers who were also a huge part of my education. My peers dedicated a lot of their time to trying to help me and our other classmates understand topics and or how to scan something. Even today I stay in contact with many of my peers and we all still ask each other questions and study together. I also love where I attended my externship since everyone there was really nice and helpful. I learned a lot there and am thankful I got the opportunity to attend such place. I also love how the campus is very clean and well maintained in which I believe a nice and clean environment is very important to have when attending school. The school has a nice break/lunch room where anyone can study, eat, or even hang out in to relax. I also love the fact that Career Services always had something nice planned out for the students which was very thoughtful of them. There was always nice events and activities in the break/lunch room that would help us students relax and ease our minds off of school. Along with that, Berenice from Career Services would always make sure all students felt welcomed at those events and she always helped me out whenever I would go to her asking for help. She truly cares for the students and always does her best with everything. Thanks to school, I got hired at a clinic and am currently training. Overall, the DMS program itself is challenging but with the help and support of those around, it is very possible.

I am currently enrolled at Platt College, as a MAS student. I didn't know Platt was for me, until I came to see the campus and saw how much of an opportunity as offered to the students. Since I have arrived the staff has been beyond helpful and supportive in the process of enrolling. Admissions doesn't forget about you even after enrollment, I've been at Platt College for six months and use the resources on campus like career services, library and computer center. I'm also in NTHS group Honor Society for students with a GPA of 3.0 and above. They also have student events, where theirs music, food, and raffles with great prizes. The school prides itself for working with their students even after graduation, Platt offers lifetime placement.

The best instructor I've had. Smart, talented, and strict.

Originally, I came here intending to leave an extremely negative review regarding my 18-month…read moreexperience at this school. However, instead of writing purely out of frustration, I want to highlight the areas that truly need improvement because the experience has been devastating, disappointing, and frustrating for many students. One of the biggest issues with this school is the lack of an open-door policy when it comes to student concerns, guidance, and resolution. Unfortunately, it often feels like it is "the school's way or the highway." Students frequently feel unheard, dismissed, and undermined, even when bringing forward serious and valid concerns. Another major issue is the constant policy and program changes. Cohort contracts are changed unexpectedly, resulting in students attending longer than originally anticipated. In addition, students are sometimes required to retest under circumstances that feel unjustified and poorly managed. For example, my cohort took our exit exam on May 8th, and many of us passed. Days later, we were informed that the exam had been invalidated due to vendor-related errors. Imagine the emotional distress and disappointment that caused after students had already worked tirelessly to succeed. Situations like this should be prevented through better oversight, communication, and coordination with testing vendors before exams are administered. The school also lacks empathy and flexibility when students face real-life challenges. Many of us have families, jobs, financial responsibilities, and personal hardships, yet accommodations are often discussed and later retracted. As a nursing school that teaches compassion and patient-centered care, it is disappointing to experience such little empathy and support toward students. To future students considering this program: understand that your concerns may not always be acknowledged, even when they are valid. Many students feel unsupported not only by the school administration, but also when attempting to escalate concerns externally. I will say there are some positives. The grading scale is fair, the online theory format can be convenient, and there are several excellent clinical instructors who genuinely care about student success. However, management, communication, consistency, and student advocacy need significant improvement. There are only a few theory instructors who truly stand out positively. Additionally, the heavy reliance on ATI and Capstone testing may work for some students, but not everyone learns the same way. Success cannot be measured solely through repetitive testing strategies. Many students succeed because of outside tutoring, independent study groups, determination, and personal discipline. Nursing schools should recognize that different learning styles require different approaches. Overall, my cohort experienced a significant amount of stress, inconsistency, and frustration throughout this process. I sincerely hope the school takes student feedback seriously moving forward, improves communication, and creates a more supportive environment for future students. #forevergroup46

The first class in the program is Code Intro which is taught by Mr. Kahn who is a very kind man and clearly cares about the success of his students, he takes the time to explain everything and will help you himself if you are having a hard time with any of the material covered in the class. I passed Code Intro with no issues and would soon find out that unfortunately after Code Intro the following class and its teacher would be drastically different. The following class after Code Intro is Code A which is taught by Mr. Winton--I was honestly quite surprised at how much of a gap in difficulty there was between Code Intro and Code A the school really does an awful job of preparing you for the transition between classes. Mr. Winton is a nice guy sure, but his teaching method is honestly pretty awful his entire routine is to go over the NEC lecture book for the first half of class and will then briefly tell you about the lab project you have due at the end of the week, he barely takes any time to explain what you need to do in the lab and doesn't really tell you how to do it he just assumes that coming straight from Code Intro you'll know what to do even though students at that point most likely have had no experience working on a panel. Mr. Winton also for lack of a better term seems to have pretty bad ADHD either that or he just gets very easily distracted because he loves going on these wild tangents and going into these personal anecdotes. He also will literally tell the entire class that students often have a hard time doing well with the exams that he creates, if students are known to have a hard time with the exams you make then shouldn't you consider changing your approach to them? The fact that he so gleefully told us that was pretty amazing...I graduated from a four-year college and boy would I have hated to have a professor like Mr. Winton, I sincerely hope that the school somehow sees this and decides to take action and have a discussion with him. Besides Mr. Winton's subpar teaching methods the work in the lab was honestly never enjoyable, you feel extremely self-conscious about the work you need to do and if you need any help from the lab assistants boy oh boy prepared to feel judged. One lab assistant in particular, Russell, has quite a bad attitude and is extremely judgey and passive aggressive I honestly have no idea how someone like him who seems to have pretty bad social skills was able to become an assistant in a school--maybe he actually is good at electrical work but that doesn't necessarily qualify him to be teaching students in a school. Besides everything I've mentioned one other thing I need to bring up is how cheap the materials department is, all the materials they give you feel extremely cheap and are of course overpriced. One day I forgot my hard hat at home and needed to get one in order to work in the lab that day, I went to the materials department and asked if I could get a replacement one and they actually told me that I had to go to a nearby Home Depot and get one myself. Hard hats are extremely cheap and easy to find I got myself one at Home Depot for $10, the fact that they weren't willing to give me one while I was paying thousands of dollars to be in that class did not sit well with me. All in all this was an enormous waste of my time and energy, had the program continued in a class style similar to Code Intro I most likely would have stayed however unfortunately the quality of the program fell off of a cliff soon after. I luckily had someone paying for my classes and I genuinely feel bad for them spending their money, this program is sure as hell not worth $20k you're better off either finding a different program or just learning a different trade at a community college.

One of the biggest reasons I enrolled was because of the school's promises regarding career support and help with employment after graduation--but that support was not there when I needed it. In fact, due to poor communication and lack of follow-through, I lost out on a job opportunity. Career services was often rude and unhelpful, and when problems were brought up, they were rarely addressed or taken seriously. I constantly felt like I had to chase answers instead of receiving support as a student. The most frustrating part was near graduation. I was told my graduation would be delayed because of an alleged unpaid balance--even though I had made all my payments, including my cap and gown, with no missed payments whatsoever. I almost missed my graduation entirely because no one contacted me to let me know there was supposedly an issue. The only reason it was caught was because I called them myself. For a school that claims to support its students, my experience was the complete opposite. This process caused unnecessary stress, frustration, and disappointment. Students deserve better communication, accountability, and support than what I received here.

I received my ATT (approval to test) within one week from my last day. I had the option to test immediately but I had applied to test with accommodations so with limited centers for accommodations I tested 1 month out in August and passed the first time. I worked closely with our Careers Center and the director Dr. Willinger to create an amazing resume right after receiving my license, began applying to jobs immediately and received an invitation to interview within one week for DaVita. Two weeks later I received an invitation to interview for an ER position close to home which was my first choice to build a strong foundation as a new nurse. I know there are a lot of negative comments about this school on here. I have heard and watched a lot of sad and crazy experiences that my friends and other peers endure with staff and faculty throughout my 3.5 years there. I have experienced questionable professors and staff who are obviously there for the paycheck. On the other end, I have met 2x as many INCREDIBLE staff and faculty throughout my time at Stanbridge. People need to understand that this is still a relatively new program and it's still working through a lot of adjustments both within the programs itself, how they handle students, and how they handle staff. But with being new comes an advantage to incoming students because with the help of the right people and resources, there is flexibility and grace that comes with a class or a term that possibly end in a fluke (I.e. bad professors, missing classes due to extreme circumstances, etc.). I understand this is not everyone's experience, but I HAVE seen multiple times where the school does work with students to properly evaluate their knowledge of a subject a second time if there is overwhelming evidence showing it was not properly done the first time. It also is dependent on how an issue is communicated as well. Any nursing program out there is hard and rigorous. Stanbridge is not unique to this. I can confidently say that I went in to the NCLEX feeling so prepared because of how this school preps you. If you follow testing strategies and work closely with the coaches at the end of the program YOU. WILL. PASS. From Term 1 Stanbridge works with students not just on building testing stamina but building testing stamina while sleep deprived. It's not officially an actual thing. They always told us to be well rested and to eat before but, the reality of any nursing program is adequate sleep is simply not possible. You just have to get through each term and pass. Keep moving even if you have a set back, do your best to not stop. I have no idea how many times I thought to myself that I will more than likely not remember anything after the program and I questioned if I really actually learned anything. I have been an ER nurse for almost 7 months now. Every moment of feeling competent, confident, and proud to be a nurse I owe to Stanbridge. While most of my peers in my new grad program have forgotten a lot of basics and high priorities, I am one of the few who still remembers and I am so thankful. I had zero medical background coming into the program. My science gpa at a 3.5 was not competitive enough for CCs, UCs, or CSUs to see me as a priority candidate for their RN program. Stanbridge was the first school to take a chance on me and invest in me. Before Stanbridge I was never the student who was picked for scholarships, awards, or special internships. The last 2 years at Stanbridge I received scholarships every term, was selected for Student Hospital Fellowship, received the Presidential Service Award, and ended the program with the Thomas Fuentes Service Award. This was all because ONE staff member encouraged me to apply each time an opportunity was sent out. The Stanbridge experience is truly what YOU choose to make it. I have met some amazing people with incredible hearts at this school. I loved that I don't need to hike or walk a mile to get to class. I loved that I only needed to be on the ground once or twice a week. Nursing school was THE hardest thing I have ever done. I gave up my entire life for 3 years just to eat, live, breathe, and sleep nursing. You can ensure your success in this program if you want this more than anything else. There will be times where you have to pick school over your family and it sucks. But being on the other side now, it is SO worth it and now I have the rest of my life. My husband is currently in the program now and is in term 4 at the OC campus. He hasn't been in school full time in over 10 years and he is doing amazing. I'm proud to be a nurse and I'm proud to be a Stanbridge Alum. The cost for tuition is pretty steep. If you have a good tribe behind you and can afford to not work during the program, I highly recommend it!

lol I want to add. I once shared with Mahdi that my newly diagnosed type 1 diabetic child was…read moreexperiencing glucose highs. She responded by saying "oh her numbers aren't stabilized yet?" With a huge air of judgment lol. Which told me she knows NOTHING about the disease. She also doesn't like to answer questions regarding children. Only the elderly which seems to be the group of people she has compassion for lol. I don't care how much time has passed, what a joke that she's teaching future nurses. I would still love an explanation as to why my daughter's documented medical emergency was held against my grade and why Stanbridge doesn't hold her accountable as well as to why I am stuck with these loans.
