One of the very best Indian restaurants in Dublin and they do very reasonable lunch and early-bird offers to boot. I've eaten here on a few occasions and have never been disappointed with the food or service. On my last visit, during the lunch service I went for the mixed grill platter for €21 which includes rice and naan and a selection of tandoori meats - chicken, lamb, prawn and quail with spiced potatoes and a delicious red lentil daal. Each of the meat and vegetable dishes were seriously delicious, my favourites being the daal and prawn. The broccoli in a spiced cheese sauce was also mega tasty. I couldn't even attempt to finish the dish, but definitely enjoyed myself trying! Don't be put off by the fact that it's located in the same part of the Dundrum Town Centre that houses McD's, KFC and Eddies...this is food of a completely different ilk. The myriad of culinary plaques that bejewel the entrance are 100% merited; this place is the biz for lovers of Indian food.

First time here on a Friday night in January. Place was pretty buzzing I have to say, and I got the impression many of the people there were regulars. This is Indian food, but not as we know it Jim. And I mean that in a good way. Part of the Jaipur group of restaurants, this is Indian food up several notches from the average, and indeed re-imagined in many cases. Food was universally excellent. I've included photos of a couple of the starters which may give you a feel for the house style. You can expect food that is very very tasty, starters especially that are super stylish. Prices are towards the pricy side, but worth it, it my opinion. Concentrate on starters and mains and forget desserts. I would most definitely return.

This is one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever been too! This restaurant is a refined take on classic Indian dishes. Ive been twice in the past two weeks. Their monkfish dish and smoked lamb were delicious and leave some room for the caramel pannacota desert! They also have a great selection of wines and a gluten free menu.

This place is truly amazing and certainly deserves every award that adorns the entrance to the restaurant. The decor is beautifully chilled and this is one of those "eat where the locals eat" kinda places. So great and positive to see so many Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi etc couples and families eating here. Made me feel, they got to be doing something right, right? Partner and I both went for the platter of crispy prawn, guinea fowl, coriander chicken, saffron chicken, seekh kebab, lamb boti, tandoori broccoli, yellow lentils, spiced potatoes served with pulao rice and naan. Everyone of them was seriously amazing with the crispy prawn, guinea fowl and yellow lentils in particular being superb. If you are in Dundrum, do yourself a favour and get yourself in here!!

This is normally the part of my review where I'd be all "I can't believe I didn't eat here sooner!" However, I can believe it, because I wouldn't normally make a trip to Dundrum Town Centre for a Saturday evening meal. We had dinner at Ananda at the recommendation of my co-workers. We were both so skeptical and luckily were both so wrong. The feel of the place is fancy without being stuffy and there is a nice lively atmosphere. We decided to share the Kurkura Seekh Kebab, which is a lamb kebab with water chestnut pesto and aubergine fries. It was so unique and the flavours were excellent. For our mains we ordered the Butter Chicken and the Jhinga Neel Giri, which is a curry prawn dish. Both dishes were lovely. The curry sauce with the prawns had a nice coconut taste and great texture. My Butter Chicken was so juicy and the seasonings were fantastic. If you like Tikka Masala this is your sister dish. To accompany our mains we also shared the lemon rice and garlic and coriander naan, which was more than enough food between the two of us. Despite being uncomfortably full, we knew we couldn't leave without sampling one of their desserts. We shared the Chocolate and Banana which was a chocolate and banana mousse with a peanut crust, caramel ice cream and bruleed bananas. To sum that one up, YUM. You pay a slightly higher premium than most Indian restaurants but Ananda certainly delivers. Looking forward to returning soon! Tip: Use the side entrance so you can pretend you aren't inside a mall :)

This is also the Indian restaurant to take your non-curryphile friend or partner to - if this doesn't convert them, nothing will.

Being an American I've heard plenty about how South Asian cuisine is better across the pond. Being…read morea fan of Asian food in general I was determined to try Indian cuisine at least once during my trip. Considering how expensive it is to eat in Dublin and considering how close this was to my hotel I had this twice and was impressed with my food both times! The restaurant space is quite small to eat in and most of their orders are for takeaway. The plastic containers used for takeaway is quite sturdy and I'd be reusing them again if I was a local. Service was great. They threw in a single piece of veggie samosa for good measure as a typical order comes in a set of 3. They even put in a little chutney sauce for dipping. There's plenty of potato and some peas in the samosa. I ordered one chicken and one lamb dish. I love spicy curries so I ordered the curries that come naturally spicy. The curries are made to order so expect at least a 10 minute wait while they cook your dish. - Chicken Madras (Curry from southern coast of India cooked with fresh coconut and curry leaves, €10.50). Madras is a British interpretation of curry found in South India. It is red due to the chili powder and there's usually a "milk" base to it, similar to Thai curries. The chicken pieces are big and there's plenty of curry left over to finish the rice. - Lamb Jalfrezi (Stir-fried lamb with onions, peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, Stir-fried lamb with onions peppers and tomato flavoured with carom seeds, €11.50). Jalfrezi is Indian-Chinese made spicy because the meat is cooked usually with green peppers and onions. This dish was properly spicy and there's a good amount of lamb meat. There was enough curry left over to finish the rice. This was made by the suggestion of a local who overheard me asking for a recommendation for preferred lamb curries as I had chicken. This is reasonably priced comfort food considering how expensive it can be to eat out in Dublin. If this were in the US this would easily be my go-to place for Indian food to go.

Do Not Underestimate Their Vindaloo #HOTHOT…read more This place over the years have changed their name a few times but what hasn't changed is the awesome deliciousness of their food. I've sampled plenty of the starter dishes and for mains have tried quite a few options over from the beef or chicken jalrezi, tikka masala, korma oh and let's not forge their vindaloo (buyer's beware it is as hot as they come), all dishes have been amazing. My fave, go to main meal is now the chicken tikka masala has enough of everything, packed with flavour and doesn't make me cry like the vindaloo! Also, little tip for you... order the garlic Naan! It's worth the buck and then some. I've often ordered from them when having guests over so whether it be a small order for 2 or larger group they've got you covered. The delivery service is always prompt, never had any issues here and the once time they had a long delivery timeframe they made it know over the phone when I placed the order to make sure I was ok with the wait... More take away/delivery places should take note, if ye know ye are up against it, let us know when ordering... Saves an angry call 60 mins later :-) If you are in the area or live nearby and have not tried their food... Do! You won't regret it
