Our meal was great. First, the service was terrific. Everyone, from Andrew (the Manager) and Lisa (our server) to the food runners was friendly and helpful. They checked back on us repeatedly to make sure everything was great - but were not hovering. The food was exceptional. The Hibachi Salmon was the best we've ever had. My Butterfish was equally delightful. The Tuna Poke appetizer may have been the best thing we ate. The Sunrise at Haleakala Roll was as we remembered it. (The only thing that did not excel was the Pineapple Upside Down Cake - good, but not quite as it was). The restaurant is big, airy and comfortable. Tables are well spaced and the chairs comfortable. Overall, an excellent dinner out.

But the lobster was REALLY small... like maybe 2oz? I also had the lobster potstickers, which weren't "potstickers" by the traditional method but were in fact fried dumplings. They were great, but a little bit of a mis set expectation. My real problem with this restaurant is their bar area, which felt more like sitting at an old Applebees. There were really "top shelf" liquors, and the selection they had was underwhelming. My Manhattan was probably the worst one I've ever had... the glass wasn't chilled, there was too much vermouth, and the cherry was in pieces in my drink. I only mention all of this because the cocktail was $26.50 (before tip and tax), and I think for this price the value must be exceptional. My recommendation is to come for dinner and sit in the main dining room... rush past the bar area and don't take a second look! :-) Enjoy the wonderful selection of entrees and great flavors.

I got a text exactly one minute after our reservation time, we checked back in with the hostess and then were walked to the corner table we had wanted earlier. It seems like they could both improve their turnover and customer service with some adjustment to how they allocate their tables. We started with drinks, I had the Classic Mai Tai and it was delish. We had the Coconut Shrimp app and it was very tasty, a nice mix of savory shrimp with a bit of salad. I had the Chilean Sea Bass and it was a very nice dish as well. The lady had the Thai shrimp and scallops and really liked it. I had a bite and must agree. We were too full for desert but will have to come back and try that sometime. Service from Warnell was top notch and we also got a check-in from the manager. We liked the casual ambiance although the place was a bit loud and the singer's volume could have been toned down. We will likely be back.

This was our experience until this July. On this occasion, we were excited to eat some of our favorites. We made a reservation ahead as we know it rains daily in July. We specifically requested an indoor table. As we were traveling to the restaurant, we were driving in an awful lightning storm and were very glad we had made a reservation for indoors. We arrived to the restaurant and were seated outdoors despite it still raining. We were not happy, but some excuse was made about the radar and the rain stopping for the evening. We didn't complain, but weren't exactly happy. Our server came to take our order. We are accustomed to ordering tropical drinks and starting with the warm bread. Drinks were ordered and bread never came. We placed our dinner order and still no bread. Once our dinners came out, we were very disappointed to find that in spite of the price hikes, the portion sizes have been shaved down drastically. The normal flavor in our dishes wasn't present, and the tropical, no worries vibe was missing. Our entire crew of five all commented on how this just doesn't feel like a special dinner out anymore. I'm sad to see our tradition end, but there is nothing special about this place anymore. Try it for yourself. Maybe you'll find what we used to find here.

Their menu is varied and easy on the wallet. We ordered the I had ordered their Hot & Crunchy Grouper pricing at $19.95. The grouper "balls" were deep fried (not oily) and hot and crunchy with pineapple slaw, candied sesame pecans, steamed rice and creamy-mango sauce (can't wait to go back for lunch and order this dish again). My hubby ordered Nemo's Snapper Fish Tacos (2) priced at $18.95 and served with Caribbean rice, warm tortilla (Wheat or Corn) green cabbage, lime, queso fresco cheese, pickled onion condiments selection and creamy apple salad. His meal was outstanding. Highly recommend for a unique place for lunch.

I ordered their so-called specialty: the Nemo's Ultimate Miso Sea Bass--advertised as a "legendary signature dish served with a citrus-ginger butter sauce and asparagus." It arrived at my table practically frozen. After sending it back, I ordered the ginger steamed snapper, which was completely flavorless and tasted like cardboard. The only saving grace of the entire night was the service and the wine (a Txomin from the Basque Country). Save your time and money. Do not eat here.

Everything about it from entering the grounds of The Ritz, walking through the hotel lobby, to being greeted at the host/hostess station elevated an experience that by the end of the meal can be summed up in the word Magnifique! Upon reaching the host/hostess station, we were efficiently greeted and brought to our table walking through a beautiful dining room with a piano player to boot reminiscent of the great restaurants of the '70's and '80's. Whisked to our table to a romantic table for two with a full view of the dining room a la Forge Miami Beach 1980. We were told that The Grill has been operational for 40 years and is the best performing restaurant within Marriott's portfolio and the only remaining Grill. Our server who was outstanding had been here for 29 years. He explained to a T the specials and was both professional and friendly what you would expect at a 5 star restaurant. We started by selecting our bottle of wine a reasonably priced Pride Cab that was not heavily marked up. The wine list was extensive with a wide range of wines priced many priced reasonably and providing good value all the way up to top end Screaming Eagle. We elected to start with a great Caesar salad and followed up with two bone-in steaks, one being the 22 oz. bone-in ribeye for $98 and a 22 oz. bone in filet mignon special at $142 that our server described as being 14 oz. of meat and boy was it huge! The bone-in ribeye was cooked perfectly and delicious and the filet was soft as butter and very very good. We had fantastic Cajun spiced steak fries and great broccolini. For dessert we finished up with two souffles that are personal sized, one being a chocolate souffle with chocolate sauce and in asking for sabayon - they advised that while they could not they would bring out creme anglaise. The cookies n cream souffle was even better and delectable! Service was off the chart polished, unrushed and absolutely great. All in all the experience was beyond 5 stars. A truly unique restaurant standing the test of time and without a doubt the best steakhouse and best restaurant that we have eaten at in the State of Florida. (And yes we have been to all the "supposed" greats in Miami and Bern's too). And quite frankly I would put this at the top of its class within the U.S.
