Marina has no protection from storm waves. Tire jetty has been damaged for over a year. Boats in slips have also been damaged.

Parking close to the restaurant can be challenging as this is an active marina as well as a county park. But you can park easily within walking distance. That being said your access to the restaurant is via walkways to the marina boat slips. The restaurant is literally on the water so you'll have boaters, park goers etc all around. It's a nice atmosphere. The restaurant food, they have a fairly large menu of offerings from appetizers , burgers & regular entrees as well as specials. For those seeking to enjoy beverages, they have what I interpret as plenty of choices for adult beverages as well as the regular soda options. Staff are attentive & working constantly to ensure customers are served. Burger we enjoyed was the Bleu Cheese which came with fries & an appetizer of cream cheese filled pepper slices all of which were delicious. We'll definitely go back and they also have live music at times as well.

To know: if you're going to the restaurant you don't have to pay day use fee at Lavon. $5 highnoons- we're already in. Deck seating was super comfortable, even midday in August. Food: mozzarella sticks- look I expected bar food. They were perfectly cooked! Not greasy. Not burnt. PERFECT. and they come with ranch AND marinara. Burger- just the way I like it. LTPO mayo and mustard, and this seems silly, but they put the mayo and mustard ON the burger, not in a cup/packet where you have to do it yourself. This was every burger I've been looking for in Dallas. No egg, no special sauce, no wierd ass extra stuff. A perfect burger. And the fries were great as well. Again, not greasy, well cooked. Not too thin, not to thick. The best part was Cailey (spelling?). She took amazing care of us. You can tell she really loves this spot. I know the feeling. Being a full time educator, having a job like this on the side is a break. As a nurse, I do the same. She told us all about the other businesses the owners have, the schedule, the upcoming events. I couldn't wait to get back to Dallas to tell our friends.

The staff member who served us was amazing. She was funny, friendly and gave the best recommendations. Prompt and impeccable service! Service was ridiculously slow with the server also working the packed tables due to an event, but the customers and quality shouldn't be the ones who are short changed just because management didn't make a better effort with handling increased demand. We waited awhile before getting menus, to order, to get any food. Service was friendly but overburdened. We FINALLY got our food. Mussels were good, but rushed and there were shells, for once, in the sauce. Mac and cheese was thrown together and just one notch about the blue box you get for a dollar at the grocery store. I shouldn't have paid more than $3 for it. My daughter was STARVING, so she ate it. On to the main meal I used to talk my daughter into waiting for over an hour: the hangar steak. Her first time trying this amazing cut of beef. But it was so DAMN COLD!!! WTH???? The fries were hot and tasty, but the steak was cold like maybe someone sent it back and we got it. It didn't fit the cook on the fries. She said the flavor was there, she can eat a lukewarm steak, but it was COLD. I'm so angry. The server asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. For what? I just paid and will never go back. Lake House RUINED my daughter's entire impression of one of the best and most underrated cuts of beef.

We ate the calamari and oysters. They were very good. It was happy hour and we could of just eaten that. Crab legs were very and the fried oysters as well. Hush puppies were very good as well. Unfortunately the catfish was not very good. The breading didn't have much flavor and it was dry. I had to keep soaking it an tartar sauce. I saw many other meals and they looked really good.

Cashier friendly, knowledgeable and answered questions about the menu items. TV's here so you can watch the latest sports events. Jorge, new employee as of 3 weeks, was busy clearing tables, greeting customers, making sure everyone was okay. Jorge came back several times throughout the meal. Young, fast, happy. First basket was a whole, crispy seasoned catfish, fried okra, with a couple of hushpuppies. Delicious. Second basket, fried Seafood combo included shrimp, oysters, catfish filets, French fries, with hushpuppies. Can't go wrong with this combo. Had the opportunity to meet one of the managers, Sandy. Sandy was so polite, gracious, and wanted to make sure all was good. We talked about the dinner selections and Hook Line Sinker desserts. It's no wonder things run so smoothly here. Dine in or to-go... stop by; you will not be disappointed.

I wish I would've taken a picture because it was the most disgusting presentation I have ever seen we couldn't even look at them without wanting to barf. Do not order oysters here. For REAL DONT they are clearly canned, these looked like oysters on steroids, I'm telling you these oysters looked like they had muscles. Truly disgusting.

We originally booked a cabin, but after running into an unexpected wasp issue, the staff immediately upgraded us to the estate--the stunning white building in the middle of the vineyard. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. They were warm, accommodating, and genuinely cared about our experience. The chef's food was phenomenal--hands down some of the best food we've ever had, not just "good for a winery," but genuinely incredible. A special shoutout to Kevin, the bartender, who took it upon himself to come back after the proposal to take photos for us. That small act of kindness meant the world and helped us capture memories we'll treasure forever. The estate itself is unbelievably beautiful, peaceful, and romantic. Between the vineyard views, the exceptional service, and the unforgettable proposal, this place will forever hold a special place in our hearts. If you're considering staying here, celebrating something special, or just want an extraordinary experience--do it. Tara Winery exceeded every expectation, and we couldn't be more grateful.
