When I asked about St-Germain cocktails, our server seemed confused and annoyed, while the bartender was much more helpful and friendly. We ordered the tuna tartare, and it was disappointing very little flavor and the tuna tasted low quality or pre-made. If you're a tuna tartare fan, I'd recommend ordering it elsewhere. Really was not impressed! Hubby asked for a waffle, which he received, it wasn't even half the size of the small plate and was $9. He did enjoy the fruit bowl and eggs. I got the superfood bowl, without the egg...it was tasty. They used something in cooking it or prep that I am allergic to...but that happens from time to time. However we did sit in the dining area and ordered food, for one entree they were out of broccolini & instead of substituting it for something else because they were out of it; the manager comes to the table to tell us it's a garnish, & that it's just 1oz of broccolini therefore it's not a side. Correct me if I'm wrong I've never seen a garnish listed on an actual menu. The fact that the manager had every excuse & didn't want to accommodate us was not desirable at all. For me customer service is key if you run out of something you should allow the customer to add a side, per what's listed on your menu it literally has broccolini listed as a side. Visited the Hampton Social for a friend's birthday during their weekend brunch hours and it was a lovely experience. For drinks, they have both alcoholic and non alcoholic options. I ordered the Mermaid mist (mocktail) which is a blue raspberry sprite drink which I found very refreshing. For food I ordered the dynamite shrimp, truffle fries, and the warmed lobster roll. The lobster roll was flavorful, buttery, and perfectly seasoned. The lobster had a great texture and blended well with the sauce, complimented by the delicious warm toasted bread. You also have the option of getting the roll chilled too if you prefer and both options serve about 1-2 people. The dynamite shrimp consists of shrimp, cooked tempura style; it is very tasty and has a good spice, sesame seed, scallion, and chili sauce blend. Lastly the truffle fries are so tasty and borderline addictive, pairing very well with any of the appetizers or main dishes. Their meals are great for sharing amongst the table as well, especially the appetizers which have a diverse selection to choose from. Good food, but the world's slowest service. Came on a Monday afternoon and there were not alot of tables sat inside at all.. we ordered the truffle fries and margarita from the happy hour menu. We also got two dozen oysters which were sooooo good but super small. They were both veryyyyy good. I also ordered an espresso martini and it was so delicious. The Hampton Social offers great food, drinks, and a friendly staff, so it's surprising they're only averaging 3 stars. The culprit? Their non-transparent, mandatory 18% service charge. This kind of policy can hurt a business more than its customers or employees ever could. True transparency would mean simply increasing menu prices by 18% and removing the deceptive surcharge. After all, the total bill would remain the same. That said, the service and ambiance are excellent! The space feels like an upscale beach house, Downtown Dallas style, and they definitely nailed that aesthetic. Overall, it's an enjoyable experience, but the mandatory service charge leaves a sour note. If they focused on clear, upfront pricing, this could easily be a 5-star spot. read more

Came here with my brother and loved the vibe immediately. Super cute spot with great decor and lots of fun happy hour promos going on. He ordered the truffle fries, I went with the oysters, and everything hit. Highlight of the night was finding a pearl in one of my oysters, such a fun surprise and made the experience feel extra special. The service was also great. You could tell the servers actually support each other, which always shows in how smooth and kind the service feels. Went here for Brunch and it was my first time! What a cute place, definitely will be back. It's much bigger than it looks, with multiple levels and a rooftop. We were sat on the rooftop. Service was great despite it being a busy day, and the aesthetics were nice, the staircase, the rose all day wall, the interior and the patio area. It transforms you into its own city, doesn't seem like you're in Dallas anymore. I ordered the Seersucker Squeeze drink and my friend got the Resort Water. They were both okay, didn't really feel like they were very strong for the $17 price. So that was disappointing. For entrees, I got the garden scramble which was delicious, and a good portion size. Well... I'm off oysters now. Went for happy hour and got the oyster special. Don't do it. Canned. Shitty. Over flowing the shell. Not glued to the shell Tried to eat one and almost choked. The presentation of the entire things was horrifying idk how they could look at that and serve it. I've been to a couple of Hampton Social locations in the past, so I was excited to try the new Dallas location. It was easy to make a reservation, and was able to book a dinner reservation for a Friday night. This location is located downtown, so parking was tricky. The hostess informed me that they plan to get valet parking soon. The location itself was very pretty, with 3 floors of seating. My friends and I were sat on the second floor. I will say it was hard to hear each other, and voices bounced off the wall from nearby tables, so keep that in mind. As for the food, we shared an appetizer and I had the caesar salad with tots on the side. The salad was just ok as well as the tots. It was a consensus at the table that we would return for drinks, but would skip eating a meal here. read more

If you remember the old Iron Cactus that used to be here, the bones of the building are still familiar--but Hampton Social has completely transformed the vibe. We added 1 person in the group and they couldn't even provide an additional chair when there are several vacant tables and extra chairs around the restaurant. Hampton Social is a vibrant restaurant filled with coastal themed decor and cute neon signs throughout the dining areas. When we entered there were a few people ahead of us. We scheduled a reservation for 1:30 but for some reason the hostess was double checking to see if they could accept online reservations.. a bit odd. After speaking with other servers, she stated it would be a 10 minute wait. Unfortunately, the wait was much longer than 10 minutes and there were actually quite a few open tables. I could sense something was array as the manager was handling a lot of things and seemed a bit frantic. When we were seated, our server was ready to quickly assist us and was very friendly and attentive. I ordered the honey glazed salmon which accompanies power greens and heirloom carrots. My fiancé ordered the skirt steak frites with the heirloom carrots. The food was flavorful and cooked perfectly. There was a bit of confusion on the Mac and cheese as it stated it comes as a side when I received mine it was an entire pasta dish which I stated I did not want. I decided not to bring it up and just took the rest ToGo. Overall, it was a fairly good experience but it is a new establishment so they are probably still trying to find their groove. I attended the R&B social event with a couple of friends. We were very excited to attend, as it sounded like a blast. I attempted to order a drink, that was apparently a specialty drink on the 2nd floor. This is my first time there so I have no idea what the rules were. The bartender then proceeds to yell and berate me for trying to order the drink I wanted. It was completely unnecessary and just straight up rude. It ruined my experience immediately. We went with a party of 8 for brunch. We tried the appetizer of spinach dip, shrimp bruschetta, Brussels spouts. Everything was delicious. The French toast was amazing with their syrup!!!! For Brunch we had a few Gatsby breakfast plate, clam chowder, truffle fries, chicken sandwich, breakfast sandwiches with fruit. Sorry I didn't get picks of everything because they started eating. I've been to The Hampton Social several times in different states, and I have to say I'm in love with the new downtown Dallas location! The downstairs space is open and airy, creating a cool beach dinner vibe. We were seated at a half booth inside the restaurant, and to the left was a gorgeous patio, perfect for a cool spring evening. For entrees, my family and I ordered the creamy spicy vodka pasta, shrimp tacos, and fish and chips. I added blackened salmon to my pasta, which was cooked perfectly and seasoned well. My family enjoyed their meals as well. The shrimp tacos were flavorful, and the fish and chips were served hot with a nice crispy batter. The only downside was finding out at the end of the meal that adding blackened salmon to my pasta cost an extra $17. I would've appreciated if the server had let me know about the additional charge upfront. At that price, I would've just ordered the salmon entrée instead. While the visit had its highlights, a little more transparency around pricing would've made the experience better. read more

This his such a cool place! There seemed to be some people there for a graduation dinner, some on a date, and I was there with a friend. Good casual ambience, the server was nice, and a little bit pricier (drink was $17). I chose this place because the rooftop bar was recommended to me but sadly the outside was closed due to rain earlier. There was live music and a bar with tvs with the game on. Also 3 stories! The food was delicious, I got the truffle white cheddar macaroni and my friend got a shelter island chicken sandwich with chips. I really wanted to like this place. Unfortunately, my one and only visit left a lot to be desired. I was so disappointed I debated on whether to finish this review. I visited back in March a few weeks after they opened. I went during afternoon but after what would have been the lunch-hour rush. Upon entering the door, I was a bit turned off as the first thing I see is a sign stating there is an 18% service charge applied to all bills to "ensure fair wages and benefits for all team members all year long". To be fair, it did state that 100% of this fee goes to the service staff. While I appreciate them being upfront and making sure people know about this, I always struggle with fees like this as where I come from, gratuity is given voluntarily and should not be an obligation. That said, since I had walked over, I decided to move forward with trying the place. The ambiance inside is great!! It's easy to see that a major investment went into the interior. Add to that, they have a patio which I walked around and checked out be decided to dine inside. The patio is really nice with the only downside being it's right next to Pegasus Plaza which, at times, can be a lovely park in the heart of downtown. On the other hand, there are times when the park is filled with the people experiencing homelessness who at times are known to bathe in the fountain. They also have a rooftop patio which I did not get to check out. Once seated inside, I ended up waiting ~15 minutes before anyone acknowledge me and then waited another ~10 minutes for water. Needless to say, things were not off to a great start. After another ~10 minutes, the server came back and took my order. I went with the Shelter Island Chicken Sandwich which is crispy fried, contains slaw, apple, Swiss cheese, pickles, spicy aioli and is accompanied with housemade chips. The server mentioned that I could get tater tots or fries in place of the chips if I wanted which so I chose fries. Of course, what the server failed to mention is there was an up-charge for the tots which I discovered up receiving my bill. It ended up taking another ~25 minutes for my sandwich to come out which would have been understandable had the place been busy. By the time my sandwich arrived, I was super hungry and looked forward to the first bite. Considering everything that was on the sandwich, I expected to experience an explosion of flavors and unfortunately, that did not happen. I tried a second bite hoping it would improve but I quickly realized a bland tasting sandwich was the best it was going to be. That's when I told myself that if I was going to have fried chicken, I should have just gone to Popeye's, as it would have been more fulfilling than what I was having. Reluctantly, I finished my meal and kept an eye out for the server so I could get my bill. It was dropped off and the server disappeared again. It was taking so long for the server to return that I started to QR code to pay but then I realized there would more service fees and charges. Also, I saw in another review stating that when paying via the QR code there is an additional mandatory gratuity of 3%, 5% or 7%. Considering my experience, I had zero desire to encounter that so I waited another ~10 minutes before the server reappeared. For me, this another of the many Instagrammable restaurants, upscale ambiance while lacking when it comes to food and service. That said, maybe I just caught them on an off-day but considering all the added fees, etc. I'm not sure I will return. While I did not have a cocktail, this could be a good spot for happy hour or post dinner drinks (after dining somewhere else). read more
