Fast forward to today and I am reminded of my thoughts then. It's one of newer chapels with modern design and architecture. The benches are comfortable with the padded pews and matching hassocks. Sound system is better too, thus the voices of the officiants carry through a lot more clearly and with less echoing. Restroom facilities are quite clean as well. The only thing that needs to be upgraded is the unpaved driveway.

As a convert to Catholicism, I especially prefer the more traditional mass, provided there is vibrancy and inspiration. I've got enough visits under my belt to sum up a decent review of this parish. St. Patrick's is enthusiastically community/family minded, the church is quite beautiful, with the windows, and cross of Jesus above the altar standing out as highlights. Pastor Father Leo is really quite resplendent given his personality and welcoming nature. The music program is ambitious, the hymn choices consist mainly of long time congregational favorites, and for the most part, many join in from the pews. The readings are nice and clear, and the homilies are up close and personal. Some may be taken aback from the out of the ordinary atmosphere here, in fact, I have heard that it is much like to going to a "picnic." Having said that, I myself have not been able to fully commit to becoming a member of this church. However, I am grateful to have it nearby, for when my life could use a boost/pick me up. Even though the energy here is uncommon in general, for a Catholic church, other churches in town could take a few lessons from St. Patrick's Parish, as the love of Christ is truly present here.

Don't call them for help they're very uneasy about even speaking to you…read more Many churches today if Jesus was to walk into the church fresh off of the cross they would ask him to leave because he might drip a little blood on the carpet this is sad but when you call the local churches they are anything but helpful. I pray for the churches that they would really be churches and not just buildings standing there not just places where we pay taxes for but indeed places for the children of God to come it is sad when you call them and they will hardly even talk to you when you ask them about helping the needy. I was raised in an Assembly of God Church we were always happy and eager to help even if it was just a prayer to offer a prayer to someone in need is just as important as giving them something physical but they can hold in their hand. I will pray for you lady to answer the telephone and was very uneasy about speaking to me I will pray that God will give you the wisdom to even simply pray for someone on the phone instead of being uneasy and quickly hanging up the phone. This is sincere review. Think about who's on the phone. Just a prayer sometimes is all that's needed.

I attended the class following that program. I liked the people and the spiritual philosophy so I started attending the services and taking the classes. The music at the 10:45 Sunday service is outstanding. I get to perform with a professional band everyweek and the songs are very current- no oldy-moldy hymns here. Rev Marquita is totally cool. When I am unable to attend I start to feel sluggish.

We get exposed to the common thread of truth throughout many religious and ancient traditions, and we're offered a philosophy that WORKS in my life. The philosophy is called 'Science of Mind'. It's a science because you're offered ideas for you to take home and try for yourself. If they don't work for you, no one judges. You're just loved and accepted and prayed for in a very affirmative way. We were welcomed by a monk who had been living in Alaska for a little over 20 years. So I took off my shoes, stepped in and left the freezing cold behind. As we went inside, there was a class in session so we tried not to disturb them. After our brief tour we talked casually about what it's like to live there and if he knows any good places to eat ..Thai food, of course =) Who would of thought that a Thai temple would be all the way out here. Just when you think you've seen it all.
