I have heard stories about how it was quite the place back in the day, but now it just strikes me as odd. They have less oil and gas folks than they once did which speaks to how anchorage has changed, but I never would have expected a baby to appear in the bar of the PCA but it happened. The food is nothing special and the service isn't the quickest but if you want to have an a good place to people watch, this is it!

They have brought back the soup and salad bar, which is the best in town by far. So there's a super quick lunch option for anyone working in midtown, without getting stuck with the same old boxed salads you're used to. If you're in for a bit more of the long haul, the wings, steak bites, pork bellies, and phillys are all outstanding. There seems to be a contingent trying to make the two-martini lunch cool again, and while I will not join them (until 5), I applaud and support their efforts. It's a great place to grab a cocktail whether it's 8 PM, midnight, or 2 AM--it just works at any hour. They've got pool tables and a cozy little section with a fireplace, which is such a nice touch for a dive bar and makes it feel way more inviting than you'd expect. The bartenders are always nice, and the drinks are solid every time. What surprises me, though, is that the place is usually pretty dead whenever I'm there--which I genuinely don't understand because the drinks are good and the ambience is actually really nice. All that said, it's still one of the better dive bars in Anchorage and definitely worth stopping into, especially if you're in the Spenard area and want something low-key but reliable.

I attended a performance put on by Arctic entries. It was wonderful . The Alaska Center for the performing arts is beautifully designed. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. They made sure that all guests were comfortable and had everything they needed. The acoustics in the theater are outstanding. The seating is comfortable and offers great views from every angle , making it very easy to fully enjoy the performance . As I said earlier the show was spectacular featuring talented local residents who clearly put their hearts and souls into their seven minutes they had on stage to share their story . The atmosphere was warm, and the audience was certainly engaged from the start to finish. I highly recommend the Alaska Center for the performing arts to anyone looking for a memorable and high-quality cultural experience. Whether you're a local Alaskan or a visitor to Anchorage, this venue offers a wonderful opportunity to enjoy world class performances and a stunning setting.

As a Valentines Gift to my parents we went to opening night to SIX - The Musical. Knowing nothing about the musical, I gathered it is based the following, "From Tudor Queens to Pop Icons, the SIX wives of Henry VIII take the microphone to reclaim their identities out of the shadow of their infamous spouse - remixing five hundred years of historical heartbreak into a Euphoric Celebration of 21st century girl power! This new original musical is the global sensation that everyone is losing their head over!" It was a very interesting, fast pace, audience participation and entertaining musical. It is nice to see a Broadway performance in Anchorage. Tickets ranged from $49 and up. Seats near the stage were over $150 while we opted for the Mezzanine seats @ $49. As you can see from the Mezzanie picture, we had wonderful seats. Overall: 4 stars for the Musical, the friendly staff, comfortable seats. The theater itself is beautifully decorated. Only CON is CenterTix doesn't have a Military Discount for all shows. It only has "special" dates for different associations. They say they do, but couldn't find any.

I found a Noah's Ark framed photo of Arc Encounter in Williamsburg, KY. Where I have been. It was $1.00. Also found a rhinestone barrette for a $1. The prices were cheap on household but kinda spendy on clothes and shoes. The proceeds support charity.
