I had a sleep study on June 26, 2023. I did not get an invoice or bill for a year, and when I did finally get a statement, it showed that only my primary insurance had paid, and they wanted me to pay a balance of $141.28. I called and the Anchorage Sleep Center, and the lady I spoke with said to "tear up that bill and she would bill my secondary". Several months went by, and in January of this year (2025), I got the same statement showing I still owed $141.28, so I wrote a check for that amount. Unfortunately, after I mailed the check, it dawned on me that my secondary still had not paid. So, I called the Sleep Center, and the lady said "I will call you back tomorrow or no later the next day" - well, after a month and a half I still had not received a call. But of course, my check was cashed! During this time, I called my secondary insurance, and they said that they had requested (twice) the original EOB from ANC Sleep Clinic showing what my primary insurance paid, but they never received it, and according to them, I "didn't owe them anything". On March 30, 2025, I sent the Anchorage Sleep Center a letter requesting a refund. I also sent them a copy of my primary insurance's EOB, as well as a copy of my secondary EOBs for this date of service, the statement they sent me from January 2025, and a copy of my cashed check. Again, I have not heard back from them. Not a phone call, a refund check, or any correspondence of any kind. It seems like their billing practices are to lie and then hide, and clearly, they aren't doing their jobs with regards to submitting claims correctly or in a timely manner. I have requested a refund from ANC Sleep Center for the money I paid ($141.28) since it clearly wasn't my fault that THEY didn't submit the claim properly nor in the time frame agreed to in their contract with Blue Cross, and because I didn't owe anything. I didn't even know that this was an issue because they did not send me a statement or call me, if they had, I could have followed up with Blue Cross to see what the problem was. I could have easily printed off an EOB from my primary insurance and submitted it to my secondary myself if I had known. I realize that $141.00 isn't a lot of money in the scope of everything, but the way I was lied to and the fact that obviously they did not do their job, and then just took my check and ran with it is very frustrating. Since all of this has come to light, I have read the patient reviews for this company, and it seems like there is a pattern here of lame billing practices. I would stay away from this Sleep Center, if they can't do the minimum and return calls or file claims properly, and clearly can't resolve these issues either, then it reflects on the whole company! read more

I don't understand how they have been rated so low. Both of my sleep studies went well. The staff were wonderful. I have no issues on how I was treated. I recommend them. I was referred to ProCare to get my CPAP machine and was treated great. I am scheduled my follow up with ProCare and I expect all to go well. read more

Just buy a C pap machine. I cant go back to sleep once I wake up! I was diagnosed that my mild sleep apnea was waking me up to... dream nightmare pee my neighbor getting home diesel truck starting dog jumping on bed and just not being able to sleep is all sleep apnea? What a scam ! Avoid this place and go to a REAL doc! Understood that some companies have a policy for employees to jump through hoops to remain employees but I went here on my own and wasted a lot money and still can't fall back asleep. I went there for a new sleep study and had a good experience but when it came to the equipment they said I have to rent it for a year. I use thing every night and never take it off because since 16yrs ago I've never done without it. I moved. Out if state and have been getting a bill wich I believe is because insurance didn't pay their overinflated rate. Now they keep sending me invoices by email. I only went to them because my old sleep center was no longer open and I regret not going to a durable medical group for my cpap. I won't make that mistake again. read more

So wife went to these people, we asked in person and called them about our insurance and everything. The said they had gotten an authorization from Aetna and we were all good. Wife got her CPAP and supplies. Aetna refused the claim, and we were stuck paying $4000 bill. Don't trust them, don't go to them! They will screw ya for money anyway they can. read more

If you like a DR office that treats scheduling you for new equipment is am inconvenience, one that can't keep records accurately on what machine or when they sold it you, then this is the place for you. As of right now I'm not happy with the place. I went there to sleep over and all was good guy was nice and all went well yet the front seat lady is rude just hung up On me. I called and asked her if they found my charger I left over there last night and she asked me to hold on and I waited came back said didn't see it ok then I said could ya get a hold of the guy from last night maybe he grabbed it and put it in his office she said she would email him. So I said please make sure ya try to find it and if it's not there then someone must of stole it cause I know I left it there. From there she just jumped all over me and then hung the phone up. I called back and said that's not good customer service hanging up when I'm just saying yal have it or it was stolen. She came back saying I'm rude when all I was doing was talking. Saying that an original apple charger and cord is only $10 which I like to know where I could get that deal. Ether way I told I'll be there later to talk and she said it's not here don't come here. Well after I go there I'll give an update. I understand it's a charger yet it's the principal of knowing if ya accidentally leave something at a place that you and only you was there and they just say it's not there go buy another instead of just trying to help and make it right. read more

I was referred here by my physician and diagnosed with sleep apnea after an at-home sleep study. They recommended CPAP therapy which did help after I got used to it. I believe the diagnosis and therapy are legit. Then I started receiving the bills... The at home sleep study, where you wear an apparatus for a night was $1000. Holy crap! I estimate the device i wore may be worth $1000-$2000 at most. The bill for the CPAP machine is still pending, but I was told by the sleep tech that it is over $3000. Seemed legit until I found the exact same machine on Amazon for $750 and even lower! Then they sign you up for automatic shipments of replacement masks and filters - how convenient! Except the bills show the mask, strap, hose, etc. to total over $700 a shipment charged to my deductible! A quick check showed everything on Amazon together costs only $70 - one tenth of what they charge! The regular meetings with the tech are also a joke. The machine tracks stats about your sleeping and you can access them with an app on your smart phone. The $100 monthly meeting simply is to go over over that same data with you - oh and to encourage you to continue using it until you pass a certain usage threshold at which the insurance company will pay for the highly marked up CPAP machine! Sleep apnea and other sleep disorders are real problems. Go in with your eyes open and brain clicking. Be aware that they are on a mission to put you into a CPAP purchase and maintenance pipeline and milk it for as much as insurance will allow. Understand all fees up front (they were never discussed with me) This is a clear grab for insurance money, but for people with high deductibles it can hit pocketbooks hard. Again, I do believe the diagnosis to be legit and the CPAP therapy is working for me. Ill be continuing the therapy, but will be getting my supplies from Amazon from now on and will never give them another dime. read more

The doctor is not bad. But the supply situation for the CPAP machines is highway robbery. They have an online store and in the store they charge $38.99 for a nasal mask. That's a standard price (you can get it for much less from amazon or the manufacturer, but in general $38.99 not too bad. But they charge your insurance $89.30 each. That's not a typo. They charge your insurance almost 230% MORE than they would charge you. Then your insurance pays an amount and you are then required to pay MORE than you would if you bought them from the manufacturer. That's right. AFTER insurance you pay more than you would pay if you bought them yourself. They do not provide you with a packing list, so when you get items, you don't know what you were supposed to get, so you don't know if you got the right thing. You get several items all marked over double what you pay from the manufacturer. To me, that is downright unethical. read more

I had an in home sleep study, followed by a visit to discuss my results with the Nurse Practitioner. I felt she was very thorough, explained what I was doing in my sleep and that I would benefit from a cpap. Being in the medical profession I understood the implication of not using vs. using one so I opted to try. I then met with the equipment tech who fitted me and supplied me with a cpap unit to take home. I didn't feel any pressure, or "hard sell" to agree to using a device or their service. I have decent insurance so most of the disposable supplies are covered to some extent, but I can understand that it can seem pricey. However, if you need one and don't use it, the heart problems and/or neurological issues you will have later will be 100x more costly and potentially deadly. I have continued with ASC for over one year now without issue. Had my follow up appt, reviewed my sleep data, and receive my supplies timely. I have never seen the physician at this location, just the NP, but I'll keep going to see her as I haven't had any issues. read more

Anchorage Sleep Center is by far the best sleep center in Anchorage. Not only are they the least expensive for sleep studies and durable medical equipment but they are always willing to go the extra mile for their patients. They are conveniently open on Saturday, which comes in super handy for those who have tight work schedules during the week. All the staff is highly knowledgeable and friendly especially the provider staff!!!! I can always rely on Anchorage Sleep Center for all of my sleep related needs :) read more

Terrible. They do everything they can to get as much money out of you as they can. They continually strung me out as long as they could even though the treatment was not working for me. They even signed me up for a program day one that would replenish my supplies automatically. I had not even tried the machine yet! This must be quite the money maker. I wish i had found out about yelp before I went to this joint. Crooks. Plain and simple. Not only do they scam the insurance company, they jack their patients up too. All of the supplies they offered, ripped off the insurance company HUGE and they still sent me a balance owed. For the same supplies, AMAZON was way cheaper than paying the insurance residual. DONT GO TO THIS PLACE!!! After moving to Anchorage from the lower 48, I was looking for a doctor that specializes in sleep studies due that I have sever sleep apnea, this is when I came across to Anchorage sleep center. I have BCBS and ask the staff if they take my insurance and they said yes, at the time of appoinment they didn't ask me for a deductible which i found kind of strange. To make a long story short the doctor didn't basically listen to me and gave me a prescription for XANAX to relax me while going to sleep and recommend me a new mask to take home, I ask him if the mask was cover by my insurance and he said yes. I didn't make another appoinment because I had the impression that the doctor was trying to get rid of me as fast as possible to attend another patient. They keep calling me back to make another appointment and obviously don't get the hint that i would never step into that office again, however it GET WORSE! After 4 months from the original appointment i get a letter in the bill from them billing me for the face mask for $450.00 WHATTTTT? NOT OK! I call them to complained about this and they basically said that they didn't care that i needed to pay the amount owe! THIS LOOKS LIKE A SCAM TO ME! IM TIRED OF UNETHICAL DOCTORS!
