I'm working on a One Piece-inspired Japanese style dragon sleeve, and his knowledge of traditional Japanese tattooing really shows in every detail. When we were designing the piece, he even went out of his way to watch episodes of One Piece so he could really understand the vibe and bring the right energy into the design. That level of dedication meant a lot to me. Throughout the appointment, he explained every step of the process so I always felt comfortable and knew what was happening next. The shop in Springfield off Q Street is always clean, welcoming, and has great music playing, which makes the whole experience even better. The sleeve isn't finished yet, but it already looks amazing, and I'm beyond excited to keep working with Illya to complete it. I got a tattoo done this past Sunday by Sarah (their Instagram is @ashburninks) and I absolutely love it! They were suuuper kind and very adaptable to the changes I was wanting for my tattoo! Their space is very clean and they're very knowledgeable. If you need a break at all during the tattoo they are very able to give you one and the shop even has some Gatorade for you to have! The only small downside was their station is right next to the bathroom, could be a pro or con depending how you look at it.. someone used it during my tattoo and it wasn't the best smell, but that went away quickly! read more

I decided to go to Anchored Ink because I was drawn in by both the quality and variety of their work. I called and booked an appointment for me and my friend with Jen. I wanted two existing tattoos redone. Jen got pictures of my old tattoos and sketched out options for both, and they were all amazing. Jen did such a phenomenal job I actually squealed when I saw it. I know, I was surprised the noise came out of me too. But I am just so happy with it. It was a tattoo that I liked but I now love it. She did more than I was hoping for! I've known this place existed for years, but never really paid attention to it. It was kind of a random fluke I ended up here. Scrolling through Facebook one day, I saw Tony in my suggested friends and I basically went trolling through his profile. I had messaged a couple of people about the tattoo I wanted, but it didn't seem like they took it as seriously as I'd expect. So I kept looking and found Tony. We talked for a bit about my idea, which was a combination of specific and obscure. You know, half an idea and you need someone to complete it? I finally met with him and I really liked him. It was one of those ideas where half of it was cemented in, the other half would almost be played by ear as we went. Which was fine with me, actually. I went in and was nervous. This was a memorial tattoo to honor my best friend that I had lost a little over a year ago. I also decided to put it on my arm, my first visible tattoo. I needed perfection. So needless to say, I was a bit terrified. Lol. I went in with my husband to get the tattoo done and I was surprised to find it's a fairly quiet and really clean shop. It was relaxing for being a tattoo shop, if that makes any sense. Everyone in there is super nice and helpful. It is a great environment for a tattoo. Tony is the one who did my tattoo, and it is literally perfect. I can't nitpick a single thing about it, and I can pretty much always find something to complain about. Lol. He put me at ease, was super accommodating to my husband being there, greeted him as well. He really went out of his way to make us both comfortable. That's something I really appreciated. He chatted with both of us as he did the tattoo, and it was fun. He let me move around as needed, made suggestions on where to move to be more comfortable. As we were doing the tattoo, I saw another artist's daughter walking around, and Tony talked to her, giving her gum and it really struck me as being a family friendly environment. Other artists and people who work there came in and saw what he was doing, talked to me a bit, and it was just relaxing. It did not feel like the typical loud obnoxious tattoo shop. Would I return? Absolutely! It is probably the most perfect place to get a tattoo in Eugene. Clean, friendly, welcoming environment with great people who do excellent work. I'm looking forward to going back in October to have it finished. read more

After a spontaneous trip to Eugene and a long 2 hour drive my group of 4 agreed on tattoos. So the hunt began and when we called Anchored Ink, Moose picked up and it was the best expierced we had. He took us all in drew up our tats and was so laid back and professional in one. Moose was the best artist we could have all asked for. He matched and altered our tattoos and we are all beyond happy. From some of us getting first tattoos and others getting them in painful areas, he was polite and walked us through everything, from painful areas during our tattoo and letting us walk it off after if needed. 100% will definitely be making the 2 hour drive back for him for sure! The shop was so clean and everyone was so nice. The engery in the shop was so calm and inviting from the coffee and drinks they had for customers and letting our big group just huddle around. My Mother made an appointment to get a Tattoo with a specific thought in mind. The tattoo artist, Melody, waited until the day before to show my mother a sketch of what she had planned to put on her body. My Mother was not happy with the picture and wanted to make changes to it. Melody then told my Mother that she would lose her $100 deposit and would have to pay another $100 for her to draw another picture. Melody also told my Mother that she didn't even have to show her a picture of the tattoo until the day of, but she showed her as a curtesy anyway. My Mother then asked, "what if I didn't like the picture when I went in for my appointment? Would I still lose my deposit and have to pay again?" Melody answered, "yes." Adding that she thought my Mother had a poor attitude. I don't think my anyone should have to pay an extra deposit just because they aren't happy with the picture they are shown. He turned a crappy tattoo I had gotten in Crescent City, CA into something really beautiful. I had a bird with an ugly color scheme, and Russell fixed the colors and added a lovely frame with water and a lighthouse, and he did most of it free hand. I get compliments on my tattoo constantly. Mak Gallegos did not do what I asked him to do and I'm literally embarrassed to show my arm. I gave him a picture of a wolf in sheep's clothes and instead of taking the time to shade in wool his lazy ass simply filled it in with dots. In addition, the wolf is missing half his ear and he didn't outline one of his legs like he did the rest of his body.
