Chris is an amazing tattoo artist who has moved to this shop from Area 51 and so did I. He probably is the best if you want your tat to be different plus he is very cool and makes you feel at ease. If you want a piece that is cool and stands out go see Chris he will actually listen to what you want and he wants you to be happy with your tats. Chris is still into his work. Not burned out like a lot of artist sometimes get after a while. He still loves his job and that is a plus these days.I hope you are always happy with doing your art because we need people like you. I got a tattoo from Jay about a month ago and he is amazing! 1. Great bedside manner, he was able to maintain his professionalism and walk me through what was going to happen whilst also being lighthearted and joking around with me which eased my nerves 2. He was very kind about providing me with choices for the tattoo, giving me time to pick the stencil and even letting me choose which shade of red I wanted 3. Was thorough yet concise when explaining the aftercare instructions and gave me a card with information on the back just in case I forgot. The tattoo healed flawlessly and looks as perfect as I imagined. 4. Finally, great prices! For the quality of his work I was SHOCKED at the bargain of a price quote he gave me before I booked. I got two 6" pieces and the total for both was $500 The studio itself is also super cool. It's very clean and organized with lots of flash options and art hanging on the walls. Where do I start? Is it unethical to fall madly in love with your tattoo artist? It may be transference because I love my tattoo. Nick Porter took my vague idea of a hidden tattoo on the back of my neck and created something far beyond what I could have dreamed of. This is my second tattoo, it won't be my last one done by Nick. All the artists are great there I'm sure, however I can give you first hand info on Nick. It was relatively painless (I didn't have to pay the extra $20 for the soft needle.) he had an inherent comprehension of just when the needle pain would start to get unbearable. He would ease up the right amount of time before he went again. It was uncanny how well he was versed in the bodies pain thresholds. I never really had it to the point of pain. I think it's because of his almost 2 decades of tattoo artistry, that or he's yoda incarnate. If you're on the fence about a tattoo go here! If you're determined to get a tattoo go here! Drunk with your buddies and want a quick shitty tattoo? Go to Nick Porter! Very deceiving that with such small amount of reviews it tells you this place is a 5 star. Complete waste of time. Scheduled an appointment with Nick Porter for both my husband and I to fix up/add on to previous tattoos. He was sent multiple pictures of our tattoos, along with picture ideas and paragraph descriptions of what we were wanting. On arriving to our appointment he was standing outside, clearly not busy at all. He informed us that he did not yet draw up anything for us (which was fine) but began asking us what we wanted. As I was explaining to him what I sent him, he was questioning me as if he did not want to do what I was asking ( which was flowers and music notes?) and that he had thought that what we were asking for was 'small work'. My husband wanted to add a name and fix a cross. These were NOT difficult requests as well as my messages to him were no where near misleading and were very clear on our requests with clear photos and everything. He then proceeded to say " well I have shit to do" and " can we just reschedule ". Being the polite people we are, we just said alright and rescheduled, but since then I now wish I would have told him he's smoking crack if he thinks we are coming back to him. Please do your research as we did not do that. They're much better artists in the area. read more
