Clean but not correct. Two high nostril piercings. Supposed to be each same size but each one was different length. And pierced at an angle. My sister, friends, and I have been going to High Priestess since we were teens, way too long for me to want to admit but it was back in the Hunky Dory basement days when there was only a single location. I've gotten a few piercings here, some that worked out and some that didn't. Most recently was a nostril piercing I got a few years ago. I was truly nervous about that one for several reasons, the pain being most obvious of course. But I've heard all the myths and/or horror stories about hitting a nerve and one's face sagging, I was worried about keloids and scarring, and so on, all of which kept me from getting this piercing for years. But all of that was for nothing because while a piercing is always a little painful, it wasn't bad at all and of course was brief. At first the piercing was off a bit--a day or two later when I woke up I saw it was being healed over. I think when I went in the woman said that when they pierced it they put too small a piece of jewelry in or something so she corrected it for me and again, I was worried I was going to have an ugly scar on my face when I'm already lacking confidence in my looks. But luckily it healed beautifully and I have had literally zero problems with it since July 5, 2017. I've swapped out jewelry a few times and had to take it out for a few days when I gave birth last month and luckily there was no closing up (which I know is more about me than how it was pierced, but still). I was expecting to do the saline soak an all which is annoying AF but this visit the piercer said simply recommended the antibacterial soap they sold there and that's truly the best healing I've ever had when getting a piercing, so I'm glad this alternative was recommended. Their jewelry selection has always been limited here, which is a bit of a bummer. Literally since the 90's they've had the same basics and they've maybe expanded a tiny bit if at all. I guess they don't want high value merchandise here but they also don't really give one any idea of how they might help them find or order more high-end jewelry from the likes of BLVA, Buddha, etc. Possibly that's changed since I was last there with a friend in 2020 but I'd be surprised if they decided to make that change during the pandemic. That's my biggest gripe; it may be fine for an initial piercing or what have you but I don't want the bland basic stuff for very long. And if I can go to another shop that has a larger selection of jewelry that goes beyond a titanium colored CZ, I'd probably go there since it would feel more full-service. However, overall I'd recommend High Priestess. read more

My first impression walking in was that I saw a statim sterilizer behind the counters which is often used in dentistry (I'm a dental assistant) so I immediately felt like it was a clean place. The piercer also cleaned the room before and after. The people who helped me and my partner select the jewelry were very welcoming and helpful. This is a clean and welcoming place that I truly recommend to my friends. I was encouraged to leave my 14K gold body jewelry at the shop on 13th to have it sanitized for piercing and stored at the shop until I could afford to come back. I was guaranteed my "jewelry would be safe with them". I told them it may take a very long time and the shop employee who is a manager assured me I had nothing to worry about as they had in the past kept people's jewelry for years. Upon returning I was told due to a new shop policy my SOLID GOLD jewelry had been thrown out. Their only offer to me is a discount on new gold jewelry which I cannot afford. BAD BUSINESS, BAD POLICIES AND EMPLOYEES WHO COMFORTABLY MISLEAD CUSTOMERS IN SUCH A SERIOUS WAY. I am a single mother of four who rarely ever has money to spend on myself. It is appalling for a customer to be treated this way. I have been a loyal customer for decades and after this I will never get pierced here again. Went here for the first time while visiting friends in oregon and was blown away by the hospitality and our professionalism that the people in this building provided us with. Came in the first time after messing up the appointment by user error and they were quick to accommodate and rebook our appointment on a later day. When it came time for the actual appointment the front desk staff Logan, was excellent with recommendations on jewelry. The piercer we had was Mason, he was phenomenal! Quick witted funny guy who knew how to turn an intimidating environment into a warm and friendly one. Was super open to any questions and answered all of them greatly and walked us through the aftercare process in a kind manor. This is my 3rd facial piercing and have never felt more welcomed at a shop than i did here! 10/10 recommend and will be back in the future for any more piercings! read more

My kid has been begging me to get her ears pierced forever now and I totally wanted that for her! That being said, she is 6 and the last time we went to get her vaccines (she was 4 at the time) I was holding her arms as tightly as I could but she still somehow used her brute strength to free her arms, grab the needle and rip it out of her leg - bending the needle in the process. She's been pretty NOT COOL with needles ever since - along with not being good with pain in the first place. Well, she was asking me again to get them done this evening and a friend of mine had recommended High Priestess so I decided to give them a call. The human on the phone was super informative and kind and I felt very welcomed and comfortable. I ended up just packing my kid up and heading there at that very moment. I cannot understate how glad I am that we ended up taking my kid here for her first piercings. Samantha is so respectful, patient and kind. My daughter gets nervous about everything, ever and I assumed she would be having an absolute meltdown at the anticipation of getting her ears pierced but SOMEHOW Samantha was able to keep her comfortable and at ease. I feel like she went out of her way to explain to my daughter that she wouldn't do anything my daughter was afraid to do. She took the time and energy to establish trust with her (I mean like as much as you can 10 minutes after meeting someone) and it made a world of a difference. The whole thing went so smoothly and my kid didn't scream or cry... nothing. She cries just from brushing her own hair sometimes - like it was a miracle. There was definitely some type of Mr. Miyagi healing magic in there or something. I came into high priestess the other day since being recommended by a friend who has had many piercings. I have a low pain tolerance and don't do great with needles so I was pretty nervous. I came here twice now, once with a friend and once for myself. The first time I came by myself, I was a walk in and the line was pretty long to get pierced. I recommend walking in if you're like me and don't like making appointments because you're impatient. I got two piercings redone and the care was amazing! I wish I remembered who pierced me, but every staff member who helped us both times had been very engaged and friendly. The second time my friend came to get her cartilage pierced. She was confident going in and then became nervous as she was getting ready to be pierced (I was just there for moral support). I was really relieved when her piercer answered all questions super thoroughly, picking up that she was a bit nervous and reassuring her that with good aftercare, there shouldn't be any issues with the piercing. My friend was so happy to get her piercing done and we all felt like we were in great hands during the process. Can't believe I had to make a yelp account for this. I'd never thought I would need to leave a review for anything until now. Individual named Bird seemed annoyed right as we got in, ignoring us for several minutes until they reluctantly asked what we wanted. Mind you they were not busy at all, we came in because my piercing was completely stuck in my ear after 8 weeks getting it pierced here. Without even confirming which piercing it was we wanted to get removed, they immediately snapped back and stated it would require 6-9 months for a lower earlobe piercing to be fully healed??? They didn't bother looking at my piercing, and was told to come back with an appointment. It wasn't a problem of it not being healed, as earlobe piercings does not take 36 weeks to heal.... They didn't wanna help and gave me attitude after spending over 300 dollars getting them pierced here. For your health, avoid this place at all costs read more

Inexperienced piercers who can cause serious damage to facial nerves, that you won't notice until later. I got a horizontal eyebrow piercing here a few years ago when I was in college. It never healed and I took it out about a year later. I now have nerve damage that caused ptosis in my right eye, meaning the eyelid droops over my eye, making my face asymmetrical. It sucks a lot. We went to the one on campus, and Bunny was absolutely fantastic with her, taking time to explain, answering all the curious questions from my daughter's 3 chatty friends. It felt like it could have been weird to get piercings during covid but when I looked them up and read about their extensive protocol and precautions felt 100 percent safe here . Only the customers getting pierced are allowed in the shop at a time and wearing masks and having to use hand sanitizer is required upon entry. I can't speak to their tattoo services but I can tell you that this is the place to take your child to if they are eager to get their ears pierced. My 7 year old niece has been asking to get her's pierced for months and this past weekend was finally time. She was so scared and nervous but also eager to get them done resulting in the entire session far succeeding an hour. Jim Sens was so patient and good with her. He was very honest about exactly what he was going to do, showing her the needle and explaining the process. He aided in myself and her mom calming her down and explaining how happy she is going to be once it's all over. I really appreciate the entire staff in their support for this little girl's journey of this monumental occasion. It was also a nice touch that the other patrons applauded her once it was all over. I can not stress it enough that proper piercing salons are where you take your kid to when they want their ears pierced. These are professionals that have done this simple procedure hundreds of times. We asked Jim how many he has done and he just laughed because he stopped counting years ago. He estimated that it's probably close to the higher hundreds over the entirety of his 20 year career. He also assured us that he did his own little girl's ears. I've gotten two piercings here a Medusa and Nipple. Both of which were not done properly. With the Medusa they did not give me the right size piece of jewelry so when I woke up one morning, my piercing had actually healed inside my lip because it was to small!!! I panicked and went to the closest shop near me (in Portland) and they were going to refer me to the hospital to have it surgically removed!! I begged the piercer to try anything as I didn't want to have to have surgery, he thankfully was able to push it through my lip with force and replaced the jewelry to the correct size! He was so shocked by the original poor piercing job and incorrect jewelry given to me, he didn't charge me for the service or the new jewelry to fix and save the piercing. With the nipple piercing it wasn't pierced properly, while I know they can be tricky if you can't confidently do them don't!!! I've had this piercing for years now and have been battling it. Im writing this post because it's come to the time where I will have to have my nipple piercing removed and I am so sad. I will ultimately have it redone by the shop that saved my Medusa but ultimately wanted to warn others. Yes they have great deals but the deals just get your money. PAY MORE FOR A BETTER JOB!! Both my piercings were botched one almost had to be surgically removed shortly after having it done, and the other ultimately had to be removed because it never healed after over a year. I have other piercings I've gotten elsewhere and I have never had any issues with them. But the two from here were awfully done! Stay safe by staying away from here! Very clean and covid wise! Came in for to buy a new septum ring and have it placed for me, the technician wore two mask, was clean and friendly. Only disappointing thing is they will not place jewelry in if it's not purchased through them or bought from another studio. The style of septum ring I wanted was not there and I've only been able to find one that I truly like by a silversmith on Etsy. Wish they would bend their rules, but none the less I am happy I was able to find a place to switch it out while in Eugene. In Ca. the state board due to covid has yet to release the temporary stop to work on folks where a mask would be removed. Or. has shown that they can do it responsibly yet Ca still deems it as a safety concern. Bummer. read more

Went to HP to get piercing in May. The piercer didn't seem to have much experience and it was slow and painful. Followed maintenance instructions but had pain and it wasn't healing. Went back 2 months later to get them to look at it. They put in a shorter post. It got more irritated and but not infected so I pulled it out. Four months later it still hasn't healed and continues to scab and flake. So sad. Would never go back read more
