So I work at a local Brewery in Orlando and have been interested in trying this place out. The bartender was super friendly and helpful and of course it's in an amazing area where there is tons of stuff to do. I did a flight and then asked if I could go run to my car to put more money in the meter which she had no problem with, it was a very relaxed atmosphere and after taking pictures all day it was actually really nice to be in the AC and have somewhere to plug my phone in right at the bar which I love. At the end I asked if she could do a half pour of a beer and she said absolutely whatever you like I really enjoy this place it's very low key and it's a nice little reprieve from some of these super touristy busier places in town I will definitely come back here again. read more

Visited early in the afternoon during the week and there were only 2 other people there. The bartender Phoebe was great! Full of conversation and recommendations of other places to visit. Even had some ghost stories to share from different places in the haunted city. I had two flights and enjoyed each of the 8 beers I tried. My favorite was the Ponce Pale Ale and was a little bit bummed they didn't have cans of them yet to be able to take a 6pack home. I also enjoyed the seasonal Pumpkin beer, the Pumquistodor. Will definitely visit again if I'm in the area. read more

My family & I were there on 3/1/19 and had an awful customer service experience. The beer was great, however the bartender Ivy needs to fix her attitude. She was blatantly rude to my father on multiple occasions. I have never had an experience like this at a brewery and I also never write poor restaurants reviews. Ivy upset us enough to say something. After the fact, my father even left a tip that she did not deserve. We do not plan on coming back! read more

Smack dab in the middle of historic downtown...Ancient City Brewing is there to wet your whistle. The taproom is simple. Nothing elaborate...nothing great...nothing awful. The beer matches the experience. They're not bad brews. They're not ones I'm fawning over though either. I am a big fan of beer in general...all types. Our first visit to St Augustine over a long weekend. We wanted to try some local beers and stopped in here. Tried a flight and I recommend the Anastasia Island IPA and the Ponce Pale Ale since those are the types I enjoy. Place was super clean with a nice clean smell (which I think is hard to keep up when you're pouring beer all day). Carla behind the bar was so nice and very knowledgeable about her products ...she helped several people make a beer choice by asking questions and providing info. I've been here 2 times now. And although I love that they switch up the options, I wish they would keep some in stock or something. TOURISTS CAN *NOT* BE SERVED AT 3:30 P.M.!!! I arrived with my teenage son so we did not sit at the bar instead took a seat at a nearby two top. The bartender was busy with another couple showing them her phone so we waited. Another couple came in after us who were clearly regulars as a bartender recognize them and they got served right away along with the phone show and tell. The bartender went back to the original couple to share more things with the phone and by then I had blown my top and walked out after waiting 9 minutes - phones track this now!!! I locked eyes with blue eyed female bartender only for a second to let her know how miffed I really was after waiting over 9 minutes and not even so much as being greeted. I bet the beer is great there but I will never know I guess. read more

This place is a jewel. The staff are very cool and knowledgeable, and of course, the beer is fantastic! Whenever we have house guests from other regions we always bring them here to taste the delicious beer, as you may know, St Augustine is the patron Saint of Brewers, so this place deserves a pilgimage for all visitors to the ancient city. service nice. location has a cool vibe. it literally kills me to be writing this -about a brewery, but the beers sitting in front of us... utterly undrinkable. i got the coconut porter and hubs got the anastasia ipa. both are bitter/astringent in a weirdly similar way with a bad aftertaste. mother-in-law has the galleon's golden ale, which is the only one that's sort of okay. we aren't finishing them. HAVE NEVER LEFT A BEER UNDRUNK IN A BREWERY BEFORE. what happened here?!?! we live in the sf bay area (hubs grew up here) surrounded by amazing breweries BUT we aren't beer snobs at all. we enjoy the whole gamut from stouts to sours and everything in between. this beer today is beyond disappointing. we've made a backyard off-the-shelf-recipe porter or two ourselves and had much better results. as hobbiests not charging. hoping it's a bad batch(es)?!?!! ya'll need to rethink what you are serving. again sorry for the poor review as it's unexpected and not my usual. but just can't finesse this any other way. will try again next trip. fingers crossed... read more

I live in a city where beer is king. Coming from beer city, Asheville, NC, I had high hopes for this brewery on our trip to St. Augustine. The service was dreadful and the beer flavor abysmal. My wife and I had great hopes and they were severely let down. Surprising that the staff was as unhelpful as that was the last chance it had in my eyes. We will not be back. Such a shame as we had hoped for so much. The only reason this didn't get 1 Star is due to the location and building itself. read more
