Last Sunday, July 12, my friends and I celebrated a birthday with afternoon tea at Chatsworth, a wonderful experience from start to finish. The tea and sandwiches were beautifully presented, and we loved all the fresh baked goods and spreads. The bottomless mimosas were a hit with everyone in our group. Our server, Lynn, was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and had a great sense of humor. Even though she was managing the bar area, tea room reservations, and multiple tables at the same time, she always made sure we had everything we needed. I'd highly recommend Chatsworth to anyone, locals and visitors alike, looking for a great afternoon tea experience in St. Augustine. read more

We were walking around town and wanted to try something new, this place had good reviews online - so we stopped here. What a cute little place! Inside is cozy with comfy couches and chairs - along with your usual bar stools. The drink menu has your normal drinks and a lot of specialty drinks. Every drink we ordered was excellent - and strong! We also tried the pretzel sticks - they were AMAZING. So good, we actually ordered another batch. Our server was excellent and made some good recommendations. He kept checking on us and talked with us when he wasn't busy. When I went to use the restroom I got a glimpse of their tea room. Went here for Tea on Mother's Day to their Tea Room. It was decorated so nicely and had all different types of china on the tables. The ambience was wonderful. I thought their Tea choices were nice and tasted good and they brought each of us a full pot of what we selected. They brought us our little tier of a mix of a very small items. A ramekin of beer cheese soup (delicious and wish it was bigger) a pimento cheese triangle (so so) and a very very small hot Brie pastry (did not have a lot of taste and hard to tell what it was actually) The rest was dessert items and although they were good, nothing was amazing to me. We decided to celebrate Mother day early and chose Chatsworth Tea room. What a nice experience. There were many choices of loose leaf teas. The food selection was good. The service was excellent . The tea room itself was pretty and dainty. Each table offered its own charm. Our cons: 1. downtown parking (not unexpected). 2. It's connected to the pub and the loud TVs interfere with the classical music and ambiance. 3. Not much else, we'll return to try the other tea offerings. read more

So a planned a nice outing for myself, my MIL, & daughter as a High school graduation celebration. This place got the 2 stars only because the ambience was decor was spot on, the server was sweet and attentive, but the food was dismal. The sandwiches had 1 slice of meat & a bit of spread-three slices of bread that might as well have come from the grocery store just with Crust cutoff. The scones are what is the signature of an English tea and they were hard, overcooked, and seem like they came from the freezer section at Costco. The sweets on the top tasted like Enteman's lemon pound cake with a bit of frosting and sprinkles added, the "chocolate tart" was running like pudding, the macrons had a weird herbal taste to them. The tea, was tea, nothing magical. If you want Instagram, photos of yourself in a cute space go if you wanna eat anything-go somewhere else! read more

My daughter, granddaughter and I had afternoon tea at Chatsworth as a belated Mother's Day gift for me! We had such a wonderful experience, and enjoyed every part of it. It was our first time there and the first time as a preteen experiencing a tea! They were so accommodating, since preteens can be a bit picky. We all loved the tea assortment, and they were delicious! We chose the turkey cranberry sandwiches, which were amazing. The second tier had blueberry scones and the third were desserts. We were visiting St Augustine for their holiday light displays. To wrap up the evening, we dropped in for a cocktail at this quaint pub with a British vibe. Their adult beverage offerings were strong! The bartender helpfully explained some questions we had. I decided on a classic British dry gin martini with large, firm olives and a Hendricks base (IYKYK). My lovely bride chose an espresso martini that was velvety yummy with a proper froth the easily supported the coffee bean garnish. Both were delicious and served their purpose. I only gave 4 stars since I haven't tried their food yet. But for drinks it was great. Not stingy with alcohol at all. The menu of drinks is extensive and looks fun. The whiskey sour had the white foam on top, and was great. Some places skip this step. My hot toddy was perfect on a chilly night. The mule my friend had was also very good. I really wanted to love this place, the decor is straight out of a British postcard, and the vibe makes you want to speak in a posh accent for no reason. The tea service looks cute, and the staff are friendly and attentive. That said, the experience didn't fully deliver. The scones were more "Florida sunshine" than "London fog" (a bit dry), the macarons were too sweet and the tea itself felt average for the price. It's a nice place to sit and chat, but if you're chasing that authentic English high tea with the full flavor and finesse you might leave wishing for a little more "wow." Still, it's a cozy spot for photos, conversation, or a mellow afternoon if you're not too picky about the tea itself. Would I come back? Cool little bar a little short walk away from the main strip/bars in dt st Augustine. It has that vintage England vibe with comfy couches/chairs and cute Christmas lights hanging up. Feels like you're in an old stone cabin or something. Staff is nice. Docking one point because the ice in our drinks one night was I believe moldy? There was particles encrusted inside the ice cubes and we couldn't tell what it was but it was disgusting none the less that we stopped drinking and didn't order anything additional. read more

I called early this morning to make sure they had bottomless mimosas and brunch. When I arrived the bartender acted as if I was crazy when I asked about brunch and bottomless. I told her I called and spoke to someone this morning and she said well that's funny cause we don't even have a phone here. We just anchored off St Augustine and were ready for a beverage and my husband wanted a burger. Friends had just eaten here and said it was good, so off we went. The bar/restaurant was busy, the barmaid was taking drink orders, taking table orders AND delivering food, she was swamped. We were patient, finally got menus after asking twice then going to the bar to get them. Same holds true for our drinks. I got a chicken panini, my husband got the burger (served with homemade kettle chips). Our friends got a Reuben sandwich and the stew. We should have left, I see that now. It took an hour to get our food and it was COLD. We were just so hungry. The panini was on a brioche roll and had whole cloves of raw garlic in it. It was brrrrr...cold. The burger was well done, not the requested medium rare and coooooold. It was also served with bad, bagged chips. The Reuben was cold and dry. The stew, small portion for the cost ratio, was okay. It was served with crackers. Bread was $3.00. So...we never send food back. Mine was inedible, and I was worried about getting sick (which did happen). We brought it to the attention of poor bartender, waitress, jack of all trades that 3 of the 4 dishes were inedible. Interestingly enough, the owner was there chatting gloriously behind the bar. Never lifted a finger to help. The bartender sent her over. She explained that they had a busy weekend and they just didn't have enough food in the kitchen, so the kitchen spent all day tweaking things and this was the result. So why not tell people that there aren't any paninis or kettle chips or well prepared food. They were willing to comp 2 meals and we had to argue to get the Reuben off the table. My husband who grew up in kitchens was surprised they even charged us at all. Cute bar, bad timing, not enough servers. Such a beautiful frilly place. Absolutely loved the chandelier and decor. All of the staff were super friendly and loved them. The eclair tasted like it came out of the frozen section and the bacon biscuit should have been warmed. Other than those two items we loved the scones and recommended seasonal flavors. We were out on a Saturday adventure to celebrate a friend's birthday. Front is like an old school pub, back has a private space Tea Room (I don't have a pic, I stayed in the pub. Hehe) There are small tables, sitting areas, or right up at the bar. The staff was nice and accommodating to our silly requests of donuts on drinks (see pics). One of the drinks actually comes with a donut. The rest of us just added it on because ... Why not? Hahahaha. We ended up getting all the apps to share. Great spread! A little of everything, shared between our party of 5. It was actually pretty filling, and everything tasted yummy! So flavorful. I don't think I would go again. We had late reservations for Tea; it was very nice not too busy. The server took our order, really not the typical High Tea menu. We were told they did not have enough tea pots for us and if we would start off with three rather than four teas (we were a party of four) after we were served, we did not see anyone again until much later tea pots were empty, we asked for more tea. When we finally received the tea it was not tea it was water. Apparently, they did not refill the tea ball but just added water to the pot, that was very disappointing. then had to wait to finally get more tea. I would not go again. read more

A visit to the Chatsworth Pub is like a step back in time! We enjoyed stopping in for adult beverages in the mid afternoon. Our bartender was great! We sat at the bar and made our beverage choices. This is a nice bar in downtown St. Augustine. Some people in our group tried their Bloody Mary's and loved them, so drinks are great there. It's a chill bar atmosphere and vibe. But we were really there for the high tea experience in their back room, which was awesome. They being out different teas to try along with some light bites and desserts. Way overrated. First, our teacups had lipstick on them. We tried to swap from other tables but those cups were also dirty. When we mentioned it to our server she said "thanks for telling me." My husband and I got afternoon tea here and had a lovely experience. The tea room is very well decorated creating a perfect tea atmosphere. Their baked goods are made in house and were outstanding. The scone was a brown sugar cinnamon scone and it was incredible. There was also a house made mini fruit tart and "lobster tail cookie" that were excellent. I ought to give this place a 2, but the place only employs the guy who gave me a "deal" on the cider, which was no deal at all... It isn't all represented by this guy. I think the other 2 youngsters behind the bar make up for the one who lied. But anyway, I was in for a quick drink before my sail that evening, and I wanted a cider and the guy told me he thought he had only Angry Orchard, but then he said or "this other one" but didn't really say what it was. But it was in the tap for CiderBoys pineapple. It didn't have much of a pineapple flavor - ever so slight.... so, in a pinch, I thought OK, let's go for it. He told me he would give me the Angry Orchard price and save me a $1. So I said OH thanks! I'll pass that extra $1 to the tip. And I did. Whatever, I drank my drink, I chatted with the nice young girl behind the bar - she even tasted it and confirmed that it appeared that maybe the other cider had possibly left some pineapple in the lines but that she didn't get the pineapple flavor either, and that's when I learned it wasn't CiderBoys at all. It was Angry Orchard after all....in the CiderBoys tap! UGH! What a crock. In any event, the bar itself was pretty cool looking, had a great selection of beers on tap and liquor and of course is in a great location. I might visit this establishment again but opt for a different bartender... the drink was pretty cheap anyway and it was a cider...just not the one I wanted or thought it was. read more

Went to afternoon tea for my wife's birthday today. We don't do fancy things often, and she was excited to try a new experience. Although the ambiance was beautiful, the service was unfriendly and quite slow. The sandwiches were pretty good, the scones were mid, and all three of the desserts on top were so bad we didn't have more than a bite of each. The deserts were garnished with two moldy strawberries which is wild for something that cost over a hundred dollars with tip. I genuinely felt ripped off when we went to pay. Bummer. read more

Went for tea, it took 30 minutes to get our tea, and the food didn't come out for over an hour and a half. For $50pp we received a slice of pumpkin cheesecake, a cup of chocolate pudding, a slice of red velvet cake, one scone, one cucumber and cream cheese sandwich and a pot of tea. It took two hours for this tea service. When the food finally came our tea was empty so we had ice water with our food. The food served was not very good, there wasn't anything served that would necessitate lengthy prep time. At about $50 pp this was a huge disappointment both for the time it took to get served, the quality of the food served and the lack of any service. read more

I have been here a number of times and really love the intimate atmosphere. Recently my mom, daughter (3yrs old), friend and her daughter (10 years old) went to their tea room. It was so much fun! They had a special tea pot for my daughter with pink lemonade. She thought she was so grown up drinking from a real tea cup. They have a special menu for the kids. I loved how we could smell the teas and decide which teas we wanted. The staff was so friendly and made the experience wonderful. The food was scrumptious! Located in the heart of Old St. Augustine is a great choice. Yes parking can be tricky but the atmosphere is worth it. The Chatsworth pub tea room has a Victorian English feel to it. Patterned wallpaper, big comfy sitting chairs and tea service tables with mix matched china. The perfect ambience to enjoy Afternoon tea. The tea selection was somewhat limited but we were able to find a couple that our group liked. We did run into a issue where the teas seemed a little to weak. We had to request a double brew to truly get a full bodied tea. Once we got that taken care of it was my enjoyable.  The tea trays served were filled with many options. The tea sandwiches were good but our personal favorite was the roast beef with horseradish aioli. One thing I would say was odd from most of the tea rooms I have visited is they made you pick a sandwich during your reservation. I personally would prefer getting to try a sampling of the tea sandwiches instead of choosing one. Luckily we had a group of 4 plus that they allowed us to sample four of the sandwiches.  The scones were tasty but pre-flavored. I found it kind of odd that they served the apple cinnamon and blueberry scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream. Usually jam and cream is paired with plain scones to allow for the flavors of the toppings to shine through. Either way the scones were good just not the combination I expected. I personally would have preferred plain scones with cream and jam but that a personal preference.  One thing I do have mention is how wonderful it was that Chatsworth accommodated our vegan guest. For a slight upcharge they made cookies and savory snacks as well as tracked down some nut milk to enjoy in their tea.  Overall it was a fun experience and would recommend it to anyone looking for a good excuse to get together with friends for tea. read more
