The owner, Tash, greeted me as a new student, gave me a tour of the studio, and instantly made the space feel warm and comfortable instead of intimidating. I signed up for an all-levels class with zero knowledge of pole and was met with so much kindness from the other students. I never once felt judged for how I looked, what I could or couldn't do, or for messing up (which I did plenty of times!). Instead, everyone was encouraging, supportive, and genuinely happy to see each other succeed. The community here is unreal!! There's so much camaraderie, hype, and care, and it makes such a difference walking into a space where people actually root for you. Since starting classes here, it's honestly been life-changing for me - physically, mentally, and emotionally. This studio offers way more than just pole, too. They have aerial classes like silks, lyra, and trapeze, and the flexibility classes are incredible. The full-body workouts are challenging in the best way--they push you without making you feel defeated and help you condition yourself to gain strength for pole. Every instructor brings something different to the table, and you can really tell how skilled and passionate they are about what they teach. I also love the chair dance classes, handstand classes, and Twerkshop is hands-down my FAVORITE! Also the pole flow classes and the foundations of movement classes are very fun! Every class makes me feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to my body. Fitness, fun, tanning (even though I'm not a artificial tanner) The studio is very cute. I love the pink. It's open and the poles are a good height for climbing. I felt so out of shape because I hadn't been poling for 2-3 months (sad how quick some skills can go away) But I had basically a one-on-one session so I went at a good pace for me. I've been to different studios that have varying degrees of fitness integration but this one definitely puts fitness first. You will leave feeling like you got a good workout! Also, PA Pole Academy has the cutest shirts of any studio I've been to. Whenever I'm back in the area I'd totally come back for a drop in. Good job PA Pole Academy!

Teacher tried to drown out the other teacher's barking voice with music. With my head unfortunately near the speaker and my instructor's soft voice, I could not hear her and figured out what poses we were doing by looking around the room. Again, not relaxing. The studio also put my email immediately on a list for a "Nift Gift card." Luckily I used my junkmail account. Altogether a waste of $20 imo. Easy parking, if you are interested in perhaps doing one of their other classes (I would not recommend taking any class that requires a calm atmosphere). And again, use that junkmail account because this studio has no compunction about sharing your private details for profit.

I learned some amazing stuff. I am a dancer and actor but had never tried aerial before. This was a unique experience and the teacher Karen is great. Detailed personal attention and care with new students. There were a few more experienced aerialists and she integrated us so well. Was partnering with others on bungee and on the wall by the end of the first day! She really was able to connect with all skill levels. Cannot say enough about this wonderful company and teacher, sign up for classes and see their shows whenever you get the chance. I live in London but I will definitely take a class again when I go back to NYC! I don't know if they have classes for kids but they should!

This studio recently moved from Newark to Hockessin with a much larger space and high ceilings…read more They are poised to offer more apparata in the future, but right now the main focus is slings, hammock and bungee, with a few silks and lyra classes. The space is clean and bright and Zina is very welcoming, as are most of the teachers. I would say that compared to the other circus studios I've practiced at, this is geared more towards beginners. If you're used to climbing 12' in the air and doing drops, these classes may seem a little easy, but if you're just getting into fitness or if you have mobility issues, Zina can help you find a class that suits your needs. I especially recommend the bungee classes. They are super fun and an intense cardio workout. It takes a few classes for the harness to feel less pinchy, so stick with it.

It is a little confusing where you're supposed to enter, but it's in the back of a church and the entrance is in the back. When I first arrived-- about 10 mins early-- the door was locked. I waited awhile and some other people showed up and started going in. I appreciated as a first-time participant that I was just invited to join right in, that there wasn't a huge fuss made over me or my safety. I was strapped into the bungee and invited to try it out to get the hang of it. The class was fun and challenging, but doable. It was a great workout and I really enjoyed it. But while I didn't want to be the center of attention as a newcomer, I would have liked some more guidance along the way. Instead, it was very clear that the other class attendees knew each other, and the instructor, very well. It felt a little exclusive and hard to join. The instructor didn't speak to me from the time I got into the harness until the class was over. I felt like I was intruding on a close community. That's the only reason my review is four, not five stars. If it had felt more welcoming, I'd be eager to go back, but as is, the drive is too long to go back for such a cold environment. Still, I do wish there was something like this much closer to me!
