It can be very intimidating to pursue hobbies and try to build new skills as an adult, but I finally set out to try yoga after 2 years of contemplation. Jolly Llama, and the wonderful instructor Jackie, made it so easy. I instantly felt comfortable and continue to feel so whenever I come in, and I highly recommend their beginner's class if that's what you're looking for. My instructor Jackie has consistently been mindful and encouraging. It's nothing like I expected. Throughout the lesson she reminds us to thank ourselves for showing up, and check in with our spirits and our bodies. She makes you feel reassured that it's okay not to go through with a pose that your body isn't agreeing with, and always offers you alternative cozy poses when something that may be a bit challenging comes along. This has been key for me in learning something new. It's made it very easy to go with the flow and grow. An added bonus is that everyone here is so approachable, both staff and fellow classmates. I've noticed in many reviews about yoga studios in general that newcomers can feel an air of pretentiousness, or feel like they're walking into something cliquey; things of that sort that can make a person feel unwelcome. But there was NONE of that here! Nothing but smiles, kindness and uplifting energy. It really makes all the difference.

While I just revisited after a few years thanks to a freebie, I've been to this studio a handful of times since living in Fishtown, but I imagine much more now that I live in Fishtown. It's like a ski chalet meets a yoga studio, with wooden interiors, gorgeous and bright rooms to practice, and just general great vibes. The locker rooms are a leetle small, but comfortable. The whole atmosphere is just open and welcoming, and I've enjoyed every class I've visited. New members can get a month for $40, to whet their yoga whistle. This is the steal of the century!

When we arrived at 11:50, the kittens were still not there. They were brought in by Morris Animal Refuge. All the proceeds from the class went directly towards the needs of the refuge. Once we were settled in and the kittens got acclimated, our instructor, Heather, gave some background about Morris Animal Refuge. She stated it was a beginner level class and there wouldn't be a need for props. The class was actually pretty fast paced for beginner level! Heather said she would conclude five minutes early to give us a chance to take photos and spend time with the cats. The cats were amazing, but I wish there were more of them. They mostly hung around at the front of the studio but the volunteers from Morris would grab them and bring them around so everyone had a chance to see them. There were a lot of people in attendance for just a few cats. Amrita provided a clean and pleasant environment and a comfortable temperature for the class.

The owner, Tash, greeted me as a new student, gave me a tour of the studio, and instantly made the space feel warm and comfortable instead of intimidating. I signed up for an all-levels class with zero knowledge of pole and was met with so much kindness from the other students. I never once felt judged for how I looked, what I could or couldn't do, or for messing up (which I did plenty of times!). Instead, everyone was encouraging, supportive, and genuinely happy to see each other succeed. The community here is unreal!! There's so much camaraderie, hype, and care, and it makes such a difference walking into a space where people actually root for you. Since starting classes here, it's honestly been life-changing for me - physically, mentally, and emotionally. This studio offers way more than just pole, too. They have aerial classes like silks, lyra, and trapeze, and the flexibility classes are incredible. The full-body workouts are challenging in the best way--they push you without making you feel defeated and help you condition yourself to gain strength for pole. Every instructor brings something different to the table, and you can really tell how skilled and passionate they are about what they teach. I also love the chair dance classes, handstand classes, and Twerkshop is hands-down my FAVORITE! Also the pole flow classes and the foundations of movement classes are very fun! Every class makes me feel stronger, more confident, and more connected to my body. If you're even thinking about trying pole or aerials--whether you're nervous, brand new, or just looking for a supportive place to move and grow--I'm so glad I found this studio, and I can't recommend it enough!!!

Fitness, fun, tanning (even though I'm not a artificial tanner) The studio is very cute. I love the pink. It's open and the poles are a good height for climbing. I felt so out of shape because I hadn't been poling for 2-3 months (sad how quick some skills can go away) But I had basically a one-on-one session so I went at a good pace for me. I've been to different studios that have varying degrees of fitness integration but this one definitely puts fitness first. You will leave feeling like you got a good workout! Also, PA Pole Academy has the cutest shirts of any studio I've been to. Whenever I'm back in the area I'd totally come back for a drop in. Good job PA Pole Academy!

Launchpad Fitness changed my life! I have never been a big fitness/workout person, but I heard…read moreabout it through a friend and decided to try a class. The first class is free -- so why not? It was amazing! The workout is challenging but the instructors offer lots of versions of each move so you can pick the level of difficulty that's right for you. I started coming every week, and I have turned into a fitness JUNKIE. I don't recognize myself. I used to hate push ups and burpees and wall sits, but now I LOVE them. I used to have neck and shoulder pain and went to physical therapy and had to do boring exercises that I loathed. I don't have pain anymore because I have developed so much strength from going to Launchpad fitness, and it's really fun. It's a small gym so it's really about community and relationships. The instructors are really personal and caring. I see the same people in classes every week, and now they are my friends. We all cheer each other on, groan together, and support each other. The first time I missed a class after going for a few weeks in a row, Kelly sent me a message asking if I was ok. I let her know I was sick, and she offered to run to the pharmacy and get me anything if I needed it. One time, I showed up to class after a rough day, and Tamara hugged me while I cried and helped me use my work out as an emotional release. It's not just a business; it's a family. I'm not just working out; they've transformed my body and my attitude towards fitness.
