I generally get at least 2 estimates for major expenses. I should have this time. My tankless hot water heater had stopped working on a Thursday afternoon. The dispatcher was very kind and said they could have someone out the next morning. The salesperson that came was very courteous but said I needed a whole new unit and explained that was because it had not been regularly serviced. I accepted his word, because I had not known the service was necessary. But the new unit was way more than I expected. He showed me the catalog with prices listed. After agreeing to the purchase and signing the contract so it could be installed the next day, I finally did some research and discovered the price was WAY more than it should have been. Even allowing for permits and labor, I paid twice what it should have been. My bill was for a little over $5000. To top it off, the installer borrowed our water shut off tool because he said he didn't have one, and never returned it. That $20 item was a drop in the bucket compared to the rest, but it was enough to make me decide to go ahead and write the poor review that I had been contemplating. Our HVAC system was leaking. This has happened before and all we needed was a service to come out and flush the pipe. We called And Services and the tech came out and said he actually had to take out the whole HVAC system and clean it to stop the leak. It would be $1300. I was also worried about mold since it was leaking so he installed a UV light for $1200. He was supposed to come out the next day to clean the system. He said it would take 4-6 hours in which the AC would be turned off in the house. He also said we had to pay upfront. At noon, he still wasn't here and I had people coming over at 5 p.m., so that wasn't going to work. My husband called and said he had reservations about spending so much on what he still didn't think was the fix. The man on the phone (not the original tech) was very rude and said we don't want your service then. We were refunded the $1300. The next day, we had Red Cap plumbing come out and they flushed the pipe and it fixed the leak (which we thought was the original problem). They charged us $15. I'm still not sure if the UV light was necessary or usually that expensive, but at least we saved the $1300 for an unnecessary cleaning. Look at all these ratings and don't call them. We contacted your office that Friday morning about a non-emergency issue: a valve on our lanai that was leaking and not fully shutting off. We were assured you could fit us into the schedule that day. While there was communication throughout the day, the plumber didn't arrive until around 5 PM after a full schedule and was only able to assess the issue, not make any repairs. He quoted $1,289 to replace the hose bib and repair the wall. The plumber also noted that the house, built in the 1980s with copper piping, might eventually need repiping. He looked at our other two external hose bibs (which were not malfunctioning) and provided quotes to fix those as well as a full repiping estimate, complete with financing terms and warranty information. We were told he would return Saturday morning at 9 AM. Since this wasn't an emergency, we were under the impression that, had the plumber arrived earlier Friday and found no urgency, the repair would have been scheduled more appropriately. When we requested clarity on your rate card and a detailed breakdown of the invoice, we were essentially told to take it or leave it. For comparison, we previously used your services for a 4-5-hour job in February 2021, which cost $459. While we understand prices have risen with inflation, the markup for this minimal work is unjustifiable. By our estimation, we were overcharged by at least $300. This experience has left us with the impression that your company relies on scare tactics--pushing unnecessary repiping and financing options--rather than focusing on honest and fair business practices. The air handler in the attic was installed incorrectly causing a major leak and my living room ceiling collapsed! it took 2weeks to get repairs done right to replace the ceiling. I paid out of pocket to have it repainted and paid for a replacement ceiling fan and electrician to install. I paid over 700.00 out of pocket with the assurance I would be reimbursed promptly. Stay Away! This company will oversell you on promises and underdeliver on results. I contacted them because two bedrooms in my house were much hotter than the rest, despite being closest to the air handler. Hendrick came out, inspected the attic, and explained that my ductwork was outdated. He proposed a solution involving three plenums to improve air distribution. Even though their quote of $11,700 was almost double another company's quote of $6,000, Hendrick convinced me they would do it right and fix the problem. I wasn't home during the three days they installed the new ductwork, but I asked for pictures of the finished job. When I received them, I noticed there were no three plenums as promised. The installer had no idea what I was talking about, and when I spoke with the installation foreman, he admitted that Hendrick had sold me something they couldn't deliver. After 20 minutes of getting nowhere with the foreman, I contacted Ally Bank to dispute the charge. Unfortunately, they sided with the company, and now I'm stuck paying $11,700. To make matters worse, the two bedrooms are still just as hot--if not hotter--than they were before the work was done. Fraud Alert: I was nearly ripped off for nearly 3 THOUSAND Dollars - If you call AND Services, get ready to get a 2nd opinion that may save you a ton of waisted money. Full Story: I called AND Services because my AC unit was freezing up, both outside and inside. Henry was the tech that showed up. He knew I was also having to leave work and needed to get back right away, yet Henry continued to make small talk about the items in my house (which was a little creepy due to the extent of not staying focused). Henry saw that I have multiple dogs, and yes, my air filter was old as I've been out of town for a bit. Henry asked me if I had a warranty on my 2015 unit, and I told him that I didn't know. Henry then asked me to go 'look' for the paperwork. I couldn't find the paperwork after looking for 20 minutes. Henry's final findings was that my freon refrigerant was "SEVERELY" low. And that I had a GUARENTEED LEAK. The ONLY way to fix it was to get a new coil system for the OUTSIDE. A $2,891.00 charge. I at first was about to just pay it, but then Henry said that it would take A WEEK to get the special order part and install it. I said, "so you expect me to go without A/C for a week in FLORIDA?" Henry simply replied "Yes" I then asked, "how else could this all be fixed faster?" Henry replied, "We can order you a new unit, inside and out." I said, oh you can do that faster? Henry replied "yes but not much faster". So, I sent Henry on his way and called Independant Air Conditioning here in Tampa Carrollwood. The 2nd tech came out and INSTANTLY checked my outside units serial number on a VERY ACCESSABLE AND KNOWN website that AC companies refer to. Turns out I have 2 years left on my 10 year warranty. The Independant Air tech then actually LOOKED at my inside unit and INSTANTLY figured out that my INSIDE air handler was clogged with pet hair. I paid a very reasonable price to have it cleaned and POOF- My AC unit has been working FLAWLESSLY ever since. Also - Remember the "freon refrigerant was "SEVERELY" low" part? Well, it is Commonly known by techs that when a system has frozen over, and the diagnostics are checked, it will always show as freon is low. When the system returns to normal temps, the freon level will return to normal. I never take the time to write reviews, even when I am taken for a ride. But this is serious; If I was an elderly person, fully relying on a professional to give me CORRECT and ETHICAL findings, I would have been out nearly $3k. In this economy, it's hard enough to keep up with house repairs that don't break the bank. And no, this isn't the first or only tech from AND Services that I have had, but I guarantee it will be the LAST. This company wanted to charge me $2057 to change a part that they claimed was my fault went bad because I didn't pay them to have unit serviced four times a year. I had two free services included with my installation, of which they only completed one, which they set the appointment, and are now claiming it was my responsibility to get them out sooner. They also refuse to do second one, because it's only been 5 months since last service, while simultaneously saying it needs service every three. The tech advised they would recover coolant, but Jason, with warranty department included charge for coolant, and said dirt got in a soldered sealed copper pipe in a closed loop system, which amazes me cause that only happens durring installation or leak, which there isn't on. Long story short, I used a valve actuator, which I have for work and a $10 magnet to free up spring in reversing valve, and it's been running flawlessly for two days. Recap, for $10, I fixed a problem, they said was over $2000, while charging for new coolant, and using recovered fluid. Every estimate I recieved, explaining problem and to other repitble companies put repair at $800 to $1500, and all five companies advised I was ripped off on install by approximately $4000 for what AND Services installed. I highly recommend, you look at reviews regarding this branch on yelp, reddit, or even better business bureau and don't make mistake I did by trusting Google, cause dealing with these people us a nightmare, after they have your money. Initially we were pleased as a technician (Billy) arrived quickly and worked to unclog the pipe. He reported he had successfully unclogged it, we paid him and he left. Immediately afterwards I took a shower and the clog was clearly not cleared. We called Billy back right away and he told us he would be there the following morning. It is now two days and MANY phone calls later and we still are waiting to have a technician arrive. I got two phone quotes, one for $145, not at the required time, and the other for $170, plus parts, for the same day needed. AND Services advertised same day service and free estimate. AND Service kept on failing the appointment date and changing the time. They took over 48 hours to show and they gave me a $395 quote (more than double that what I was quoted by others). There are a thousand AC companies in Tampa, and Id call any one of them before using And. Our AC stopped blowing cold air, and even though they had bad reviews they were willing to come out same day (which they did). Luckily I had another (much more reputable) company come in after them, but I'll get to that in a minute. Anyway, the "technician" from And looked at my AC unit, and told me that I needed a new compressor ($405), since I might be under warranty $380. But then, since a coolant leak caused the compressor to go bad, he would have to look for the leak. Which he couldn't do until he replaced the compressor. His opinion was it was the main coil in my (less than 5 year old) air handler, as these were known issues with my type of air conditioner. This would cost me at least $1800. He then says he wouldn't even bother with the compressor if I didn't also do the coil (if could even find the part, he says). He then launches into a speech about how I should probably just replace the whole unit, because I'm likely going to keep having issues. I told him that was a lot, but I was getting another opinion. Long story short, the next company came to my house an hour later, put in a new compressor for $280, and said my AC is in otherwise great shape ("Yeah, it's pretty much brand new" they told me.) My AC is cooling perfectly now, and I learned not to waste my time with poorly reviewed companies. read more

I was told that I should expect the technician between 2-4 hrs and they even sent me a text to confirm the appointment, for today's appointment. Okay that was for the plumbing, the next day was my electrical appointment for changing front porch light fixture and adding exterior lights for the garage. appointment time between 8-9 a.m. By 8:45 a.m. I received another call from them canceling my appointment for the same reason they'd cancelled the appointment day before for plumbing service. When did they know that they didn't have plumbers and electricians serving in Ocala. It doesn't make any sense to me at all. That itself showed me who they are and how unprofessional they are. 11/27/2023 (Services Began 10/31/2023) AND services caused water damage to our vanity. The sinks upstairs weren't even the reason for the service call. However they do a "complimentary " home inspection. Their inspector Jackson suggested we change out some hardware under our master bath sinks. Well a week later we found a leak which had damaged the vanity and all my stuff underneath. We called them came and fixed their work days later. And said they will have someone come to assess the damage. The plumber took pics but that's about it and sent them to the manager. After several followups, and going through several people, I finally spoke with a Manager basically they were offering $500. Remember no one ever came to assess they just gave a random number. I was told to contact John if I didn't agree with the settlement. He was very rude and yelled at me. Basically stated they couldn't prove there wasn't damage already there. And all he was going to offer was $500. However prior to that we had a home inspection for our insurance and they took pics and there was no damage. Also their own employee Jackson did the "complimentary "inspection before the work and he didn't note anything. We just want everything repaired. We have a double vanity which means they won't match. In addition, they installed a new water heater and water softener. When the water softener was being installed, I asked the two installers how often I needed to add salt (having never had a water softener before). They informed me I did not have to worry about it for the first year, that AND Services would maintain it for me. About a week ago I noticed that the water was not seeming the same. I went out and looked into the salt tank to find it completely empty. I went and purchased salt and filled the tank to the appropriate level (having watched numerous videos). However, because it completely ran out of salt it needs to have a manual regeneration performed. I have no clue how to perform this. They never provided me with an owner's manual. I've never been given a copy of the warranty, in fact, other than a written quote, I have nothing from them. Every appointment for someone to come out to service the water softener gets cancelled. I went to their office on Cortez and was told by an Install Manager that someone would be out the next day. Another cancellation.
