I was rushing through this college town but wanted a quick treat and found this. It's in a bit of a back alley sidestreet that took me a minute to figure out, and a cafe is complexed together with the ice cream shop. They put the ice cream with various fruit and candy and blend it together. Notably, an option for banana cream with no dairy was offered, so the vegan or otherwise dairy-free can build anything to their heart's content. I got a basic order with just chocolate cream and mint bits mixed in. For one scoop, it was a respectable portion, having a smooth, custard-like texture and plenty of flavor. I'm sure I could build something more interesting if I hadn't been trying to beat the sunset home, but the impression I get is that this is the most interesting dessert place around. read more

We were in town visiting and wanted something sweet. My daughter recommended Andee's for ice cream. I like that they have their extensive menu on the window outside so we could figure out what we wanted so we didn't hold up the line inside. Ordering was super easy and all of our orders came out quickly. I like that there is plenty of spaced out, comfy seating and our youngest enjoyed the toy kitchen area. The ice cream was great. They mix in whatever you choose and it can be served various ways (see first pic). I would definitely come back to try out more variations when we are in town again. read more

I had STB a countless amount of times in college- it was our favorite dessert spot (also one of the only dessert spots but that's irrelevant). I absolutely LOVE spill the beans. It's such a cute ice cream spot located downtown! There are hundreds of ice cream add-in combinations you can try, and I have never been disappointed. There were so many options for mix ins and toppings for the soft serve, as well as having vegan options like nice cream. I chose the vanilla soft serve with banana and dark chocolate chips mixed in topped with pretzels in a waffle bowl! It was really good, but I thought it was overrated (however it might have just been overhyped to me by my teammates). They give you very large portions to, which w as much appreciated! This is one of the only (if not the only) places I can get vegan ice cream in the area!! It's technically fruit sorbet, but it's so good. You can choose several fruit options to blend (I've done blueberry+banana+raspberry), and then add-ins that can be blended in or added on top. I chose to blend in cookie dough one time and another time I blended in reese's cups. Each add-in is 60¢. The other dairy-free ice cream they have is called banana cream, which I think is just blended bananas, and I have yet to try it. You stand outside to order and eat. The prices are reasonable and 2 of the gals working there were very nice. My only complaint would be their very disorganized menu. read more

Great little ice cream shop in tiger town. Signs warn that allergens may not be to perfection, but only because they seemed to care. The kind staffed washed the machine twice and put gluten free options in so my gluten free daughter could enjoy some great ice cream. She was not glutened which often is not the case. Very good, very filling type of ice cream. You don't get very many toppings but it does taste good. It's the only good ice cream place in the area. First night I order vanilla ice cream with M&Ms and only 1/3 of the ice cream came with M&M pieces. Second night I asked what topping I can order so that I wouldn't have the same problem again. I got cookie dough with chocolate ice cream, and when I tried it, there was no dough. I mean, who gets cookie dough for the flavor? I get it because I like the texture. But it was so blended it in that it seemed nonexistent. Staff didn't really care though. I'm lactose sensitive so I only eat ice cream when going out with friends, or when it's really worth it. But this place is not worth it and I only got some because my friends did. The environment was nice though, there are two rooms on both sides with couches and games to socialize. read more

Spill the Beans is fine. I think the location in Greenville typically has better ice cream but the customer service at the Clemson location is superior. I also don't love the space at either location (the OG Greenville spot was excellent - existing spaces at Clemson and Greenville aren't cozy and seem cold). They serve coffee and ice cream. For ice cream, you pick a base flavor of hard ice cream (chocolate or vanilla) and then pick a few mix-ins. Final result is a blended soft-serve-like ice cream. Idea is good, execution can vary depending on how well the add-in actually incorporate. They do make their own waffle cones (really yum!) but not their own vanilla and chocolate ice cream bases. Definitely the best ice cream spot near Clemson but fairly average overall. read more

Spill the Beans is possibly the best thing about the town of Clemson. With the debate between fro yo vs ice cream, vanilla vs chocolate, and an endless combination of mix ins, you could go here the rest of your life and never have the same thing twice. Or, if you want to be on the safer side, you can order a combination from the employees' list of favorites. (I myself have created some dud flavors). The fruit here is FRESH and is blended into the ice cream, which I love. I can make my own raspberry ice cream, peach ice cream, strawberry banana, etc. You can also blend in any form of chocolate you could want, and you can even add alcohol flavorings like rum and amaretto.
