This place is a real gem. Nestled toward the end of ram cat alley it's a very fun and cozy bistro/ pub. It was rainy and subdued the night I popped in with my wife and three year old. I wouldn't describe it as a family spot , (no high chairs, rather small space) but my daughter did great in the corner table top with some board games that are available for customers. Lots of great beers on tap and available to bring home, different coffees smell great, and the pizza flat breads were delicious. I really liked the Buffalo chicken and my wife and daughter enjoyed their pepperoni. Gaelic Ale was easy drinking brew. Strawberry smoothie was delicious.Nice service and affordable. read more

Cute place. Went in on a Friday afternoon and they had several people at the beer area and a couple of us waiting in line. Staff was friendly and helpful. We got the Mimosa, Chia tea and 3 pretzels for $5. While we waited for the pretzels to cook we played a game of checkers. Food and drinks were great. I stopped in here for a cup of coffee and was impressed. I asked for half caff... They made me a pair of expressos, combined them with some boiling water for what must have officially been an Americano, but it was a great coffee. Pleasant and helpful folks. I can't remember what I paid, and that's a good sign because I thought it was worth every penny. They have beer too, not that I was about to try one with my morning coffee, but hey - the option was there. It would be an interesting place to try later in the evening for something like a good craft brew on tap followed by a cappuccino to cap off the experience. SO, they had a lot of beer... about 20 on tap, and they looked to all be good choices of craft beer supplemented by many, also good, bottled options. They sell bags of coffee so you can take it home. They have sweet things to eat, pie, croissants... stuff that goes well with coffee. Nice for breakfast or maybe a stop here after dinner... They do desserts that are locally made. If that's not enough there are the sandwiches... this would work well for lunch. My test is always "Would I come Back?" and Yes I would. Stopped in for a casual bite after viewing the Seneca Christmas lights. It's super casual and quiet (which was a refreshing change from the spot across the street). The 'dinner' menu only offers a variety of beers, wine and pizza flatbreads (3-4 different versions I think) but they were solid - fresh and seemed housemade. We had the veggie (which had onions, mushrooms and bell peppers) and cheese - both were great. As an added bonus, they have games you can play at your table - awesome small town vibe. read more

I was slow getting around to leaving a review but this place is seriously amazing. I called and asked if it was a possibility to have my husbands surprise party here and they were more than accommodating. They reserved an entire patio section for us and after we realized it was far too hot they welcomed us to come into the main part of the brewery. Everyone had a great time and loved the selection of drinks and snacks. This place was a 10/10. The workers are so sweet and fast! We had an amazing time and the place was beautiful! read more

Excellent selection of beer, wine and coffee. My husband loves beer but me... Not so much. This place is perfect because not only do they have a huge wall of beers to choose from, there's also a good wine selection. I wasn't quite sure which to choose and the girl behind the bar matched me with the perfect rosé. This place is a joke. I ordered breakfast and a cappuccino from them thru doordash, they accepted my payment and I got a message saying it was being prepared. I wait 25-30 minutes and I get a call from doordash saying, " they wanted to know if I wanted to cancel myvorder because the restaurant said they dont do carryout breakfast. While my bride and I were in the upstate for a wedding, we went exploring the area, We were told Seneca had a good coffee shop and since that is part of our bucket list ( finding excellent coffee shops in the state) off we went. We found a great parking spot in front of the Democratic headquarters, it was closed so we got a good spot in the area,The headed over to the cool funky place! BREWS on the Alley is Seneca's only craft beer and coffee bar experience. Coffee and Craft Beer are available for purchase and to go. The beer program includes twenty draft choices and many bottles and cans of the most outstanding and unique breweries. This is when I thought of the craft brew master, Scotty! Yes you would like this place! I had an Ice tea, spot on! Jackie had a regular coffee. She raved about it. I had an apple tart and Jackie had an almond croissant. We both dived into our deserts and didn't come up for air until we were done! They were so good, baked locally with local apples etc. Well laid out place, free wifi, they do offer sandwiches. Yes the restroom was super clean and well taken care of. We are already planning on hitting this place again when we head back this way in the spring. A real jewel in small town America! read more

My husband and I love trying local coffee shops when traveling. On a recent visit to Keowee Key, we stopped into Brews. I ordered a latte with almond milk. My daughter ordered a flavored iced latte and liked it. My latte was so bad, I was only able to drink a sip of two before being forced to throw it away. Sadly, I won't be back for coffee. I'll start by saying that they have a great selection of beer and the coffee was also amazing. However, the service was not so great. I was a little annoyed at how loud and obnoxious one of the bartenders was. So, I ordered a pint and my girlfriend ordered a coffee. When I went up to get a second pint, the beer I chose was almost out and was literally only about 1 ounce. No problem, he said that's on the house. Great! He asked me what kind I'd like and would bring me another. So, I told him. 5 minutes, ten minutes, 15 minutes. We ended up waiting for one beer for about 20 minutes. It's not even the amount of time, it was the fact that he help at least 3 other customers before he finished my order. Talking, laughing, loudly with them. We finally just got up to close out our "tab". We asked if he forgot about us. he said absolutely not, but in my opinion, you don't help 3 other customers before finishing with your existing customers. I'm sorry, but it takes 30 second to pour a beer. I was just disappointed, especially since it was our first time in there. Like I said, the selection was great and they know how to make good coffee, but it literally was a buzz kill for me. read more

Incredible place morning, noon, and night! I love the opportunity to get a beer anytime of day (and a quality beer at that) but also can get pastries or coffee. I found out recently that much of the food comes from a local bakery down the street! Can't love this place enough. The improvements that they have made since 2016 are excellent (outdoor deck with lighting and plants). The beer selection is outstanding, both on-tap and on the shelf. Best part: the on-tap selection varies. The service staff is knowledgeable about he beers offered, which is helpful. The coffee is good and not overpriced. More good news: you can carry-in food from the area restaurants, and Vangelis (2 doors down) will deliver to your table. I've only been at night once, so I can't speak to the crowd and atmosphere. But, as a semi-regular day visitor, I recommend Brews on the Alley. Quiet, low key, adults (great for a grad student who is sick of being overwhelmed by under-grads in other coffee shops). Clientele varies which is create: everyone goes and everyone is welcome. read more

One of the best coffee shops I have been across the country!!! The barista was knowledgable of different selections. My favorite being dirty chai lattes. He suggested an upscale to "hippy chai" which added you choice of alternative milk besides dairy. I felt like if I were a local this guy would have been my best friend. Proper etiquette with a very upscale hospitality. All of the locals that came in the afternoon we're very happy and interactive they also had a wide variety of beers on tap so you can either be a coffee shop type of person or just want to mingle and have a brew either way this place is for you. read more
