Ander's Dermatology is an insurance billing mill that grossly overcharges private insurance companies in order to ensure they get a solid payout for 5-minute consultations. After 30 minutes in the waiting area, I went to the exam room to be seen by the doctor. The doctor saw me for no longer than 5 minutes, said my skin looked good, and then skedaddled off. It was clear he did not read the referral or any of the doctor's notes before the visit, as he did not know the problem areas before entering the room. He had me off the top of my head show him the moles that I thought were concerning, and reassured me that none of them were. Then the receptionist told me that there was no additional charges, and I left. Two weeks later, a bill of $105.00 showed up to my door. After speaking with the billing office (which took 30 minutes to connect to) I learned that they originally billed $247.00 to my insurance company. Meaning that Dr. Ander's skills were worth $4,940.00 an hour.... The billing office told me there was no way they can do a reduction as it raises redflags with the insurance company. I'll tell you what should raise a red flag with the insurance company - a 5 minute consult costing $247.00. DO NOT GO HERE - unless you've run out of other options. Find another Dermatology office for your needs. I called and set up a free eval. Please reference that i have visited x3 other dermy offices for same issue. During the assessment they provided lacking info that could have been very detrimental to my condition (sun exposure post procedure). They were very pushy to complete the procedure ASAP which felt more overwhelmingly like a business transaction as opposed to someone offering genuine help. Weeks later i receive a bill in the mail? I call and they expressed my visit exceeded my "free" eval. A fact i was definitely not made aware of on-spot or offered that option. To blind charge someone and show 0 transparency is scandalous business behavior. Again, visited multiple dermy offices for same eval, only issue was here. Taking this in front of the actual dermatologist, they were arrogantly in denial of my procedural concerns. Their billing office eventually went as far as blaming me! I have found doctor Anders to be absolutely the best and I am close to 70. He has been wonderful over the years. I find when you go to an office and the Doctore is wonderful you have to bypass the other concerns. The front desk and billing are horrible here. I was scheduled to have MOHS surgery and my appointment was canceled without any notification. (I have appointment confirmation information that was sent through the mail). The front desk will lie and do anything they can to cover their backside. I was billed for a mistake they made and when questioned by my PCM they said that they would take off the bill since they were at fault. They still have yet to remove the bill. They also had an assistant administer local anesthetic. I'm not sure what qualifications she had but she was definitely not a nurse and in my home state that is a big no. I'm honestly surprised that they haven't gotten into trouble with the medical board given their terrible reviews. read more

I came to see Dr. John Anders when I was in my 20's due to Hidradenitis Suppurativa. I had no idea what was happening to my skin. I was probably about 15 pounds over weight. I was a professional. I was just looking for answers. Dr. Anders told me I had a staph infection and it was due to being uncleanly and overweight. I felt horrible about myself and felt like I didn't have any options. Dr. Ana was terrible to my Wife. Rushing, lack of interest, fake, making this business look like a revolving door that wants money and pushes people out the door. She was not concerned with my Wife's reason for visiting. She did not give any professional advice. She just said to schedule another visit for October. Never had such a bad experience before with an office. I was started on Coumadin by another MD so prior to my Mose procedure my wife called to let them know. They hung up on her and then when she did get them on the phone the woman was rude, dismissive and cut her off. Then when we arrived they asked my wife to leave. I understand if it is because of Covid but there were several people in the waiting room there together and waiting for family members while she was asked to go to her car and the woman was rude about that as well. When I got back for the procedure it got even worse. They didn't explain the procedure to me prior to beginning. They didn't even explain the way they would do the incision. I have had other skin excisions and Mose procedures and never have I had one where there was no explanation. There was also no warning before they started to numb up the area. Then they just left while it went to pathology without explanation. They were short, rude and just plain not nice. To top it off when I got home I realized they did the incision in the opposite direction of the folds or lines on my forehead making the scar horrible. This office has horrible patient relationship skills. Never pay you bill in advance and always check to make sure they enter the correct insurance ID. (They are never wrong) The will not return and overpayment if paid to their billing. They always say its not our fault, you should make sure, but Anthem only allows 90 days for corrections and after that too bad, they will not admit their mistakes (they are never wrong) and always blame the patient because the doctors can't ever forgive and take less money. They wont even settle for insurance reasonable and customary but the say the refund will be sent in 2 to 3 weeks, still waiting after 8 months for refund, they never got the corrected EOB is the answer. Nasty office manager always makes sure it cant be insurance fraud so their isn't any recourse. If you choose to go make sure you know what they are and how little they think of you but the love their money. read more
