I would not recommend this dermatologist at all. You are paying for the dermatologist to guess what will work for your skin and pay $100's for her guess. Then when you call to inform them that your skin was burnt based on their guess of medication you should use, they let you know you have to pay more money for them to guess again, and don't get back to you. It's not worth it because the guesses aren't even good. As an African American patient, I would not recommend people of color go to this dermatologist. read more

Dr. Mitchell was rude and condescending when I met with her. I wanted her to look at a rash and to discuss hair loss. I was told that they only discuss one condition per appointment. I wouldn't recommend her. read more

Everything was so great. I was able to schedule online, get in quickly, and get the care I needed. Unfortunately I had to have a small surgery, but it went exceptionally well. I was extremely disappointed in the care I received from Dr. Mitchell. I pointed out what resembled an insect bite on my ankle that did not go away after several months. She barely glanced at it, so when I went back again six months later, I insisted that she check it out more thoroughly. It was squamous cell carcinoma and I had to have it removed by a plastic surgeon under general anesthesia! Needless to say, I discharged Dr. Mitchell as my dermatologist and have since heard of several physicians who no longer refer their patients to her. read more

Dr. Hope Mitchell Dermatologist helped my son regain his confidence. My son had developed cystic acne that had not responded to over the counter treatments. Therefore, my son requested to see a dermatologist. We made an appointment to see Dr. Mitchell. On our initial and subsequent visits, she and her staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and timely. At the time, we had a very hectic schedule with work, school and extra curricular activities. Dr. Hope Mitchell made our teenage son feel at ease and comfortable talking about his condition. She asked him a specific questions about his eating, sleeping & entertainment patterns. After reviewing treatment options and possible side-effects we decided on Isotretinoin which worked miracles for my son. After a week of treatment we saw immediate results. Our son was very pleased. Dr. Mitchell monitored our son closely throughout the course of his treatment. She ordered lab test throughout the treatment to ensure the safety of the medication. We also had to sign "MyPledge" tickets for safety checks for each refill. After the treatment period our son's severe acne was gone and his confidence had returned. I made an appointment with the Fremont office, had to wait to get in which was fine. Sent them my insurance ahead of time and asked if they took it. The day before my appointment they send me a message saying they don't take my insurance causing me to have to cancel the appointment. Now I'm stuck waiting even longer to get my problem fixed and having to find a new doctor. There was no reason they couldn't have told me when I first asked and I wouldn't want anyone else having this issue! read more

Mitchell Dermatology is most deserving of all five stars and more for making their patients feel so welcome, genuinely cared about and comfortable! Each and every staff member is beyond thoughtful and so knowledgeable. They listen well, are not rushed in the slightest and talked to me like I was royalty. I'm not exaggerating!! On top of that, the new location is spacious and so clean! The woman at the check out desk went out of her way to schedule my next appointment (the most pleasant scheduling experience I ever had and I've scheduled quite a few!), gave me a bag to put samples in and even gave me a free frosty coupon just because! I left with the largest smile on my face after my first consultation because everyone made me so happy to be there. I have been on the medical side and the spa side. All of the workers were extra kind, made me feel special, and were very knowledgeable! So, everything was great, except the lady I spoke to in billing. She was very rude and condescending. I had her on speaker phone and my husband walked in from the other room because he noticed how unprofessional she was. I killed her with kindness and I hope she was just having a bad day. After searching the web for a dermatologist. I am exceptionally pleased with my choice. Beginning from the call to make my appointment to the end of my appointment, always pleased. The receptionists are always very pleasant and do go out of there way to help you. The nurses, although not always the same are quite nice. The Dr. I can not say enough good things about is excellent. Her knowledge of dermatology is superior as well as her as a person. Which means a lot when talking about a doctor.
