Buyer Beware of Andersen Windows. I spent 40,000.00 dollars on Andersen Eagle windows from the Andersen Window dealer here in the Colorado area. Have been trying to get the proper jam extensions sent to me since 11/23. It is now 3/8/24 and after three attempts along with pictures I sent of what is needed, I was always sent the wrong pieces. Still waiting on the fourth shipment of the 2 pieces that I need to finish my windows. Corporate customer service is less than pathetic. They don't email or return a confirmation like they promise. Seems they always give inaccurate information. Can't get a straight answer from them. I wish I had gone to Marvin Windows instead. I'll never buy another Andersen Window product again. Their product and warranty isn't worth the paper its written on. read more

I do not recommend Anderson as a company. Windows are good but the follow up is awful. The company believes that if they ignore you, you will just fade away. Since day one we have had nothing but problems from the order to the windows arriving and the installers leaving the job. I contacted Anderson about my windows growing mold and it could not be cleaned. I was told you need to clean your windows each year, and I explained we had been cleaning and that is how we noticed the mold. The problem kept growing each year. I have never seen mold grow on a window that was taken care of. There was a no warranty with this company. This is specially sad after the amount of money it cost us to purchase the windows. Be very careful if you use Anderson (the company) to purchase and have your windows installed. Poor customer care. read more

The process is mostly about selling a window(s). The sales person said the new windows would look like the other, existing windows. They do not. If I knew the color and design would be so completely different, I would have shopped around. The installation process was terrible. I heard a lot about Andersen windows, so when I had my house built 16 years ago I had Andersen windows installed. What a big mistake that was, they have been nothing but "JUNK" I have had to replace two lower sash's do to the wood rotting out on the inside of the house with no evidence of any damage on the outside of the windows. Now I have two more sash's rotting on the outside. It appears to me that since these windows are in the sun all day the vinyl cracks which allows water in rotting the wood inside the vinyl. As someone that used to remodel houses I would just buy an all vinyl window from home depot install them and tape the outside frame with good results, some windows have been in for over twenty years with no issues. read more

Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. I hope their products are better than their installation service and sales reps. We have had an unfinished installation of one window for 3 months and have been told that we'll need to wait at least another 4 months for one door (that'll bring the overall project duration to an estimated 10 months - with no promise of an install date).  They're quick to respond to a potential sales call but their responsiveness is lacking (at best) afterwards.  Lots and lots of excuses about supply chain issues - we get it.  There is NO excuse for not completing an install as contracted.  They pressure you for payment in full (after already receiving more than a 50% deposit) with minimal work completed. read more

I have a new construction home that placed Andersen windows into the home when it was built in late 2015. Along the way, we have had nothing but problems with the Andersen windows installed in our home. Broken seals, condensation, and large drafts flying into our rooms in the winter. Upon notification to Andersen, they simply advised that the company sold off that product line and would not be willing to help in any way with the warranty on the windows. One of the appeals of the home / builder was the Andersen window name. Their lack of customer appreciation, product support and follow through has been the worst experience I've had with my home. I would not recommend any company that does not stand by their product nor cares about the well being of their clients. If I did business this way, I wouldn't be in business. Do yourself a favor: stay away from doing business with Andersen. read more

I have had a horrible experience purchasing french doors from Andersen. They have never been able to shut properly from the beginning and parts keep breaking. I have now ordered my 3rd set of parts that my husband has to install himself and per your customer service, you are hoping it fixes the problem. My question to Andersen, is why keep guessing. Why wouldn't you want to send out an expert door installer to diagnose the issue and fix it once and for all so that we don't have to keep calling every 6 months to order another replacement part? Pay for the labor, fix the door and make me a happy customer. I will never order from Andersen again because of this lack of customer service experience. read more

I've installed Anderson windows many times before, went to order windows for my own house, there was some confusion and the windows came in the wrong size. Anderson won't do anything about it. They weren't special order or anything, just normal windows that don't fit my house and they won't exchange them. Horrible business practice, I will recommend everyone to avoid using them in the future. read more

The windows are good. That being said, I ordered Anderson windows in August they were scheduled to arrive on Dec 8. On the day of the installation it was 45 degrees. The included picture shows there was plenty of parking. The installers said they could not install because there were no parking signs put up which was the responsibility of Anderson Window. They insisted that they needed to reschedule. That was set for January 11. On that day it was 0 degrees. There was no place to park. The street was completely filled but the installers said they would do it anyway. They pulled into a drive way and stayed all day to install the windows. The painter came three days later to complete the staining but because of the cold he was not able to do it. My house has been in chaos, windows covered for a week now all because they did not install as planned. When I spoke to the supervisor regarding this he said he couldn't speak to the parking issue but that he could offer 300.00 for changing the date. I do not believe this is adequate compensation on a 40,000 dollar bill. It is January 20th and I am still waiting for my windows to be completely installed. Rachina in after-sales e-series is extremely RUDE and I'm seriously wondering why Andersen would have her as the face of their company. Our doors are beautiful except we're missing one door, and we paid extra for the doors to come with paint outside & inside and they need more than touch up on the inside so we called to get things moving since it's been almost a year since we originally ordered our doors. Really hoping we never have an issue with our doors in the future, because I would hate to have to deal with this disrespectful after-sales rep. Counting our blessings that the first time we called we got a friendly helpful rep. All of us know there are supply chain problems due to the pandemic, it's how you deal with customers that makes all the difference! read more

Andersen has been around for a long time. They have made and continue to make great window and door products. You may ask, why the 1 star review? While their products are great, their customer service leaves everything to be desired. I suppose it's possible I got the one not-so good rep, and if so, corporate can thank her for singlehandedly earning them this lousy review. So here's the short version: I ordered an Andersen AN41 window with "jamb extensions" from Home Depot. When the window was delivered it only had an upper, and two side jamb extensions attached. There was no jamb extensions on the sill (a.k.a. Stool). I contacted Home Depot as I paid extra for these jamb extensions, and they advised me to contact Andersen directly. I did as instructed. I explained the situation to the rep who answered the phone. She said no problem, she'd be happy to help resolve the issue of my missing sill jamb extension. Set set up a shipment of the needed part and I thought I was all set. Then she asked for my credit card number to pay for the item. I explained that I already paid Home Depot and it wasn't delivered. Not only wasn't it delivered, but now the installation was unnecessarily delayed. She advised me this was a replacement part order and I had to pay if I wanted the part. Being in a bind, I paid the ransoms for the missing yet needed part. I also asked if they could expedite shipping as the missing part is now holding up installation of the window and completion of the new vinyl siding. The rep proceeded to tell me that they don't offer expedited shipping. In this day and age, I find that bizarre. So the take away: great products as long as you get all the components you need and don't need the assistance of customer service. Very disappointing to be made to feel like you're being extorted out of an additional $55 or so bucks on top of your $400+ window. Clearly a company that is all about the almighty dollar. :( Would I buy their products again? Absolutely, because they are the best. That said, be prepared to pay through the nose if you need the help of their customer service. read more

What good is a warranty if no one will actually fix a leaking window and why is it even leaking, year after year? They state all kinds of customer service reviews, but my experience is Andersen New Windows leak and no one will service this after install. They get installed, then any further issues - you are on your own. I would not recommend Andersen Windows at all. read more

We had Anderson install our windows . The initial order took forever to arrive. Dates were constantly pushed back. They took several weeks with three-four people working on each window to finally install. They came to measure and remeasure the existing windows that needed replacing . Not sure why the first two measurements did not work for them, or were they stalling for time . Once they installed they realized that they were missing a window and told us that they would put it on a rush to finish . Four months later after their negligence of the missing window we still do not have it installed. They also did not seal one window properly and I have had a terrible leak and have had to replace and repaint the drywall twice! We are now experiencing more rain in California and I will need to replace again for the third time the drywall and paint. I am at the mercy of negligence. I have called , requested and there is no one that will give me straight answers . These are very expensive windows and I would think their customer service would be 5 star but it is not. Buyer beware. I have had a lose piece dangling from the third floor that has yet to be addressed. This can fall on anyone's head . Who's issue and fault with this be? I have reached out several times and I have no response,answers. I have to comply to their schedule, not mine . I am extremely disappointed. Since their service has been this way I will not have them do my windows on my second home, nor my other residential property. They have simply lost their opportunity for two more projects. read more

We first ordered three Andersen windows for our house remodel in April 2022; we still don't have them (in October 2023). The first set of windows had a 12 week lead time, but were then "lost" by the wholesaler -- OK, not Andersen's fault. The second set were scheduled to arrive on 5th October 2023. One window and three screens were supposedly put on the truck to our wholesaler, but only one window was there when the driver unloaded. What happened to the other two windows? We can't get an answer from Andersen, and neither can the wholesaler. I know that mistakes do happen--but in such a case, I think that it's reasonable to expect the company that makes the mistake to expedite the fix. Not Andersen; we've been told that we will have to wait another month before we see the other two windows. Meanwhile, the whole of the exterior of our upper floor has been on hold: we can't do the siding or the window trim or paint until these windows are installed. read more

I will never use Andersen again. I've used their 400 series throughout my homes and in the past year have had several issues. Lastly, I installed two slider windows. I installed them prior to the winter and come the cold weather realized there was a terrible draft. After checking with a contractor to make sure they were installed correctly I determined there was a 2" x 1/8 gap on the bottom of the vertical side of the window at the bottom. One window was also missing two pieces of weatherstripping. All Andersen will do is mail out the weatherstripping. They will not stand by their quality which has been steadily going downhill. In 2011 I put in a window and when it was finished and I took the protective plastic and spots of the window tinting came off with it. Again, Andersen would only send out the part and all labor would have to be done on my own. As much as I liked the brand there are just too many flaws and not enough service from the company. read more

I had so many problems. I was sent a wrong part; I wasn't sent all the parts I ordered; I wasn't sent directions; and more. I understand that problems happen, but what separates the great companies from the terrible ones is how they respond. Andersen has been such a disappointment. The first customer service rep I spoke to ran from the problem. She said the situation was neither Andersen's fault nor problem. I convinced her otherwise, but at the end of the day, Andersen wasn't going to budge to make my situation right. The worst of my many conversations was with a supervisor. She sounded bored and angry. It's times like this I'm glad I'm in the customer service business (I'm a coach and trainer). We teach our clients (currently numbering 525 companies), that it's not about being right, it's about making it right for the customer. Think about this, Andersen. You made mistakes; more than I care to recount here. Why not at least pretend that you care? read more

I did NOT have their windows, this review is about their service. They called me and get all the information (that I am going to install two windows) and arranged the free visit to investigate. We have fixed a time on Saturday afternoon. After two days, they called back saying "we are sorry but we will need a minimum 5 units or windows to start with. We sincerely apologize, etc." I was very clear in the first call that I need two windows. Why did you guys not tell me your minimum requirement but did continue to ask for further information (i.e., my preferences, address, sizes of windows, personal information, etc.)? Felt cheated, especially in the days when you don't know how company can improperly use your info. read more

You might want to rethink the weak strings or stringers on the side of your windows that hold them up. My Andersen's are only twenty years old and one of the windows strings have broken. The window came crashing down on my finger and cut a half inch of finger cleanly off including the bone. I've always believed in the quality of your windows but string to hold them up? Really? I usally don't write reviews. However I've never been this frustrated with an company. That needs to train their customer service and handling defective parts. We tried to install the 45 minute .EASY to install latch and handle on our new stormdoor . Took us 8 hrs and talking with an Andersen Customer service person. Who was treating us like 5 year olds. They finally informed us that our latch was defective and thay would send us an new one. So we emailed our sales slip,and file# WELL. the email address they sent was not right .Not once but twice! Andersen refused to schedule a home consultation with me unless my husband was present for the visit. I am the sole owner of this property and also on the home owners association board. I am disgusted with these practices. Ironically this all happened at the CT WOMENS expo. I had many other window companies who were willing to come to my property within male escort. Customer service is not one of Andersen windows priorities for sure. We bought a sliding glass door 1 1/2 years ago and after trying to fix it a couple of times Andersen told us they could do no more. What happened to customer satisfaction or your money back especially for a high end door. We are stuck with a door and screen that do not work well. One of our Andersen window deck doors had lost it's glass seal and was cloudy!! It was out of warranty of course and we were told it would cost $700 plus for a new door. My husband said he didn't want to spend that much and asked if they could do better on price, they then said they would send it for free!! We just removed the old door and the new door is now all installed!! Wonderful directions included!!! Thanks!!!! read more

I am very disappointed how Andersen Windows does not stand behind their product. We have had patio doors in our house for 9 years which was leaking during a rain storm. I was told by customer service the window was not made to stand up to pressures during a storm. Water was coming in at the base of the window of the door, onto the carpet , down the front plate and into the window below. The carpet and pad had to be pulled up to dry. We have to put down towels when it rains to catch the water. I was told if the vinyl was cracked it would be a warranty problem, otherwise it was an insurance claim. The water streams in at the lower right corner of the window, insurance doest not pay to repair faulty windows. I would not recommend Andersen Windows and will never buy them again. I thought they were a upper end window for the price we paid. read more

Worst customer service ever. Took a week to order a replacement sash. Close to month alter they canceled order because it was too large to ship. Referred to Home Depot. Was told to have Home Depot call with Req# and they would expedite order. Took Home Depot assoc three or so days to get through. Order placed. Wrong sash delivered. All I have been able to do is reorder proper one. Have spent close to ten hours on phone with Andersen over past several months. Every call requires endless holding and I receive a different rep every time so I have to bring them all back up to speed on situation. Apparently they don't log details well or have trouble reading each others notes. There is no option to elevate disputed cases to a higher authority. Looks like I am out hundreds of dollars in lost time and the original $212.00 that I paid for the bad sash. read more

Well my wife and I decided to purchase a retractable screen door. We looked at our local Home Depot and Lowes. Lowes carried "Brisa" brand retractable screen doors and Home Depot carries Andersen. I,ve always heard Andersen windows were top quality and American made so I decided to purchase the Andersen Luminaire screen door. First of all Home Depot only carries Andersen white screen doors although they come in bronze and sandtone. The store near me had 24 white screen doors! So we special ordered a bronze color retractable screen door. This took around two weeks. When it arrived at the store they contacted us and we picked it up, still in the shipping box. I took it home opened it, took out the instructions and assembled it. Only one problem! a tiny plastic clip that locks the horizontal slides to the proper width was missing! I called customer service and got a foreign accented man I could not understand. I've worked with deaf people that I could understand but this was too much! I got another person that was understandable and explained the problem. He told me they (couldn't ) send the .05 cent clip and told me they have to send the whole half of the door just because the tiny cheap plastic clip was missing. This took another 10 days and when it arrived it was the wrong half of the door that has no clips! Once again I called customer service, and this time I asked to speak to corporate. They connected me with a man there and I once again asked for him to send just the clip and I will install it, he said they don't do that and they have to send the whole half of the door! This time it took about a week and when it came I opened the box, it had both cheap tiny plastic clips but had no handle! and it was scratched! I presume they want me to replace the handle from the first door I received but that's ten times the work than replacing the cheap tiny plastic clip!!!! that they wouldn't send to me in the first place!!! First of all Andersen needs customer service in America!!! Second Andersen needs better quality control!!!! Third Andersen needs to stop sending expensive whole half of doors for a 5 cent plastic clip!!! None of this makes any sense!!! I'm done with Andersen!!! read more

I now know why the Andersen 200 series has a 10 year warranty. I've been in my new home 11 years and 8 months and found the bottom sash of one window completely rotten and the beginnings of rot on another window. These windows come pre-painted from the factory but obviously not well painted. There was no peeling. The paint has little pin holes in it where water gets in and rots the window. I have pictures of the rot but can't post them to this site. If you want to see them and the date stamp on the window, just reply to this email and I'll gladly share them with you. I had to buy a replacement sash, but this time I painted over the factory paint to see if that helps. I would not recommend this Andersen window. I've had other issues with air leaking through the window but customer service at Andersen had no idea of what I was talking about and sent me some bogus part that had nothing to do with where the air was leaking. Nothing a little masking tape doesn't fix during the winter. Doesnt look too good though. read more

I am VERY disappointed in an Andersen sliding patio sliding door I purchased several months ago, and in Andersen's response to the problem to date. I purchased an Andersen Permashield 200 Series sliding patio door and had it installed in August. From the day the door was installed, it was difficult to close and lock, and it would not close completely if left unlocked. I reported this to the contractor, who said that Andersen indicated that the problem would go away in a couple of weeks once the door seal 'broke in'. I was very concerned about paying for a new door that wouldn't close, so I contacted two people at Andersen--a customer service rep and the Territory Service Manager--and they both assured me that although this problem, which they called 'bounce-back', was not typical, it occurred from time to time, but would go away if the door were kept closed and locked for 1-3 months. I was stunned that an Andersen door, which I would have considered to be a 'quality' door, would not function properly for up to 3 months after installation, but based on their assurances, I agreed to pay the contractor in full for the door and installation. It's now been three months since the door was installed, and it STILL DOESN'T CLOSE COMPLETELY unless it is locked. I contacted the Territory Service Manager, who informed me that if he inspects the door and determines that the door is not installed properly, that Andersen is not responsible and that I'd need to deal with the contractor to address the issue. (This after two Andersen employees assured me, without inspecting the door, that the problem would go away by itself in 1-3 months.) The contractor refuses to accept responsibility since Andersen has acknowledged problems with the door closing. Now I'm stuck trying to get one of these parties to fix the problem. My recommendation is DO NOT PURCHASE AN ANDERSEN PERMASHIELD 200 SERIES DOOR!!! Andersen acknowledges that the doors may not close properly for some time after installation, and they refuse to accept responsibility for fixing it! I will NEVER purchase an Andersen window or door again after this unhappy episode. And I used to think that Andersen sold quality products!!! read more

I had work done by Anderson Windows. It turned into a huge nightmare! Out of 10 windows only 5 were correctly installed. I had to have them return on three other issues. They snooped all over my home. Open doors MARKED KEEP OUT! The workman left sweating pop cans on antique my furniture: they will never be the same. REFUSED to clean up sawdust piled on the lawn. I have leaky casements, loose casements, door nob falls off. Moisture between windows. All the shades and curtains were all to fit the new windows.....NONE fit....Had to be replaced. Abatement for hazardous materials were NOTdone legally and I was sick off and on for months. Some of my window sills were lined with copper most of them disappeared with the Andersen employees. ...Downspout was walked on to uselessness and was switched with one from the back of my home. No water proofing was used when windows and doors were installed. Gaps in windows were filled in with car bondo and NOT wood. Rotted Wood was left in place. All windows are very difficult to open as are the doors. An Andersen employee tore off over three feet of wall paper from living room wall and must have thrown it away....The wall is still BARE!!!! These employees yelled at me ...were impossible to get a civil word from them. Do not use this company or and thing sold by them. Prices for items installed were outragous! read more
