Unfortunately we aren't alone. This business has been a huge asset tomy family for over 25 years. A couple years ago, the owner announced his plan to retire and sell his practice. He researched potential buyers and found what he believed to be a GREAT buyer. Well ... he missed something. This new owner was a dolt. Seriously. I felt sorry for the guy. Apparently he didn't understand he was buying a CPA office that did tax preparation. He had absolutely no clue! Worst of all ... this past February, 11 days before our scheduled appointment (made in October 2024) we got a call from the poor staff girl ... they had to cancel our appointment. We asked, "Oh, you're moving us?" She replied, "No, we're closing!" Wait! What?! You mean like for a vacation? No ... tomorrow!!! FOR GOOD!! No referral. No, Sorry! No nothing. I'm giving the one star rather than zero, only because Barb of the office staff called me back. I was highly referred to them by my real estate broker, but Russ Word, who was supposed to call me back has never done so. I've been waiting a month! In that time I've made several phone calls to the office, and Barb first apologized, and then assured me I would get a call from Russ Word. He has failed to do so in nearly a month. So what resulted, is that I have no accountant to help me with a very important upcoming meeting with the IRS. If they just come straight out and told me that they don't have time for my business I would have sought another accountan. Total waste of my time; likely to cost me money going into this IRS meeting without the proper help before hand. read more

Russ has been doing our taxes and my in-laws' taxes for over 30 years. He is fair and honest, and never cuts corners. While he might be perceived as a little TOO honest, having said that, we have never been audited. During tax season he work over 80 hour weeks (he has to do those who pay yearly as well as those who pay quarterly, so double the work), and so we make our appointment for the next year on the same day we see him. It is a small office, and people can only work so many hours. He has helped several of my friends out of financial jams by giving sound advice, and I would recommend Russ and Anderson and Associates to anybody who wanted their taxes done professionally and correctly. read more
