Best part in Tampa bay in my opinion I absolutely love coming to this park for many reasons, different variety in age groups, plenty of seating, basketball court, water fountain that kids can run around in etc . This is one of the coolest parks I've ever been to in my life to be honest. It's very very elegant almost a clean well kept and has many fun activities for kids and adults. This is a super cute park that offers multiple play areas for kids and adults alike. There are basketball courts and a playground near the front entrance. The playground had three little areas, one specifically for very small children (1-3 years old). The other two areas gradually get more challenging for the kids and can be enjoyed by all ages. There are also two swing sets, three of which are toddler seats, two regular, and one swing seat that appears to be a 5 point harness. Behind the basketball courts is a little trail, swing and splash pad. The splash pad is super cute and had lion statues surrounding it. It's fun for little kids to play in but you can still smell the chlorine in the water, so keep that in mind. It appeared to be clean and we let our little one run around and play for a bit. There were a few kids that made our experience less than perfect; they insisted on swinging from the palm frans over our bench and even after asking them to stop they continued so we moved. They climbed a fence and jumped onto the roof of a small shed and stood on the swing rocking it back and forth. Eventually they left...and so did we. read more

Anderson Playgrounds is one of my favorite parks in South Tampa. There are plenty of swings, slides and playground equipment for toddlers and older children. Most of the park is pretty shady except for the swing area, which is a shame because those are my son's favorite. There are picnic tables, restrooms, a small splash pad area, basketball court and plenty of parking in the nearby garage. Because this park is just steps away from Swann Circle you can easily grab a coffee, popsicle, or lunch after the kiddies burn off some energy! This is the perfect spot for a mom date! read more

Cute little park to visit with the kids. There are play structures for toddlers and bigger ones for kids. There are a handful of swings. There is a water play area. The park is shaded by large trees and generally kept up well. It would be great if they didn't have so much wood chips in the area, it's not really kid friendly, but I know that there has to be something around the trees. However, they ought to change the ground cover under the swings to something that won't splinter. Newer parks I've been to have the rubber foam padding under swings as a less messy cushion for the kids. Street parking is abundant in the area, and it's only a few blocks to some restaurants and shops, if you want to have a snack after play time. read more

Perfect little park in Hyde Park for Mocha Coconut to play. We drove to several places to find a park, and finally saved the best, this one for last! There was parking on the street or in the parking lot right next to the Recreation area. We entered the gate on the side next to the Rec Center and there was basketball courts, a playground, squirrels running(Mocha's fave), shaded areas, a small walking path, the lion statues where the fountain is, and lastly a grassy area for the dogs to play. This was a quaint but none the less picturesque park. Benches surrounded the fountain that at the time was not running. It actually made a perfect spot for our dog to play! We will keep this park in mind when in the area! You should too! There are also restrooms by the basketball area next to the rec center! read more

I think this is the perfect little park for kids for a multitude of reasons. It is a beautifully gated park that has bathrooms and water fountains. It offers a playground that is shaded by huge oak trees, has basketball courts and has a water play area for the kids to play in to cool off. It has a small parking lot and street parking. Located in Hyde Park at the base of the quaint Hyde Park Village, which is filled with shopping and restaurants. Grab a popsicle at The Hyppo or a coffee/cool drink at Buddy Brew. It has entertained my kids and me for many years. Locals, like myself, call this Kate Jackson Park, however it is attached to the Kate Jackson Community Center and totes its own name as the Anderson Park. read more

Great park with great walking trails, a dog park, several shelters with several playgrounds. One suggestion is that we couldn't find or see the playgrounds ANYWHERE. You have to park and walk up hills to see if they have one near one of the shelters. Better signage would be SO helpful! We drove around for 15 minutes looking for a playground. read more

One of my favorite parts of my childhood! It's pretty and centrally located. I absolutely LOVED the splash park section that's complete with ceramic lions (kiddos bring a swimsuit), and I also spent lots of time on the jungle gym. If you have small kids, this is the place to be, and there is also shaded seating. Not to mention that you're walking distance from cute shops and Hyppo popsicles nowadays. read more

I have to say I am very impressed. The park was clean, and had more than enough seating in shady areas. There are two basketball courts that are full-sized. It is pet friendly as well and has a few doggy clean up stations. It is also a 2 minute walk to Hyde Park Village! I took my brothers to Sprinkles' cupcake ATM after an afternoon playing on the courts. I do have a note.. there are two water fountains, but they are both dirty. Make sure to bring your own water for you and your pets! read more

AWESOME park near Hyde Park Village. You wouldn't even know it was back there! After shopping and lunching and dragging your little ones around, treat them to some fun in the sun! The park has a very large playground, with play structures for big and small such as slides of various sizes, rock climbing walls, bridges, tunnels, etc. All of this is on a padded surface made of rubber. There are also swings, and even a basketball court. There's a small walking trail for walking your dog, and they even provide the doggie poo bags for you. Beautiful greenery, and on the other side, a splash park for the little ones to cool off on a hot day. It's basically a fountain with various lion statues with water sprayers coming up out of the ground. There are also ample picnic benches for activities or picnics. There's an attached building with a restroom, but it looks like there must be something else inside, but not sure if they have meeting rooms or what. Highly recommend you check this park out if you're in the area! read more

Anderson park, just off Hyde Park Village, is one of the nicest parks/playgrounds I have taken my son too. The entire playground is covered under a nice canopy of trees to keep the kids out of the direct sun. The playground equipment is safe, newer, clean and made of quality materials. There is different equipment for different age groups with smaller and more enclosed areas for the younger toddlers and higher, more challenging playground areas for older kids. There is also a water spray area where you can take the kids to play in the water. Parking is free and easily accessible within the Hyde Park garages and within the playground parking lot directly next to the children's play area. read more

Shaded park with plenty of space for the little ones to go wild. Small splash pad area, large basketball courts, bathrooms, plenty of parking and picnic tables. We come here often because of the great location. Walking distance to restaurants after a day at the park makes me happy. This park is always clean and well maintained. Great park to take the kids out. Large basketball courts, jungle gym area with plenty of shade, clean bathrooms, picnic benches, pet pick up bags/trash bins AND sprinklers! I prefer this park over Curtis Hixon because of the shade and clean bathrooms. So close to Hyde Park Village you can walk over to grab some lunch and eat it at the park. Forewarning: The squirrels are known to steal snacks from unattended strollers. The park is very popular in the neighborhood so be ready to see family cliques and Lululemon gear. read more

My husband and I will walk here early in the morning to use some of the playground equipment for our work outs (pull ups, dips, etc.) There is a small water park, multiple picnic tables, and a little "free library" with a bunch of children's books and some novels. Anderson Park is fantastic. There are basketball courts (usually filled with young kids, rather than teenagers or adults), lots of grass, a spray station, and a great playground. The playground area is well shaded by large trees, and there are plently of benches and tables to sit on while the children play. The play area is clean and well maintained. They have a separate playground for both older kids and for toddlers. The overall location is great. It is nestled in the middle of Hyde Park village, so you are a quick walk away from shops, food and other entertainment. The park does have its own parking lot, but there is also a parking structure right acoss the street that is free of charge. read more
