Riverwalk is beautiful. Lots of construction right now. We got to see so dolphins. Parking is paid around the area not expensive. But it's a nice walk and looks better maybe at night with the lights and stuff. But morning to see dolphins.

I enjoy walking a few blocks over to the Riverwalk. It starts right at the Greenwise/Publix right off of Water Street and Benchmark International Arena. I usually get on it there, and then walk it all the way over to Armature Works and back. There are always a ton of people either running, walking, roller skating, or hanging out along the riverwalk. I like walking it on both sides and taking in the nature, and getting great pictures. It's probably best to come right at sunset so it isn't so blazing hot. There isn't a ton of shade. My favorite photo spot is walking up one of the bridges and then looking back at the circular Rivergate Tower and the river.

Love the river walk!! Such an essential part of Tampa & it's downtown life. If you need exercise, or want to a lovely view of parts of the city or University of Tampa, or want to check out some events there's usually always something going on here. The riverwalk goes an impressively long ways if you are willing to follow. All the way from Armature Works, across the bridge into downtown along the Hillsborough River. One downside is that as you get closer to the downtown, there's not much for shade. So when it's muggy and crazy hot as it is like half the year in FL, it's not near as enjoyable walking or running here. However, it's still such a great way to be outside and immerse yourself in the city. Sometimes you can even see dolphins or fish swimming along in the water. There's also a lot of art and history along certain parts of the path. You can find statues of significant Tampa figures, many of them women & women of color (whoop whoop), as well as art installations from local artists.

What a pleasant experience!! We are here visiting from out of state and decided to explore the riverwalk. It just so happened to be the night of the boat parade. There were hundreds of people along the riverwalk watching the spectacular experience. There were boats decked out with Christmas decor, and music playing to ensure the crowd is entertained! Cool experience!

Great views, fun things to do along the river like biking, running and skating. Bar, restaurant scene is nice too. I would definitely recommend a visit. Always something to do during the week or weekends!

A beautiful place to walk, run or bike. At night it's gorgeous all lit up. After reading the reviews I was expecting a bunch of restaurants and bars but they are really few and far between. The water taxis are fun but they close very early. 9 on a Saturday night. If you are into architectural design there are many old buildings to enjoy

I was in the area and decided to see. Where everyone was walking to it was such a beautiful day. Turns out they had a duck race going on never have I ever saw that it was really packed and the families seem to love it.

The Tampa Riverwalk connects the Downtown riverfront parks, museums, attractions and businesses creating an outdoor destination and building a nice sense of community. This popular 2.6 mile path along the Hillsborough River offers a scenic way to explore the downtown area of Tampa. It is free to enter and use. People are walking, biking, rollerblading and enjoying the atmosphere. We had lunch at Ulele restaurant and afterwards took a nice stroll on the riverwalk in the Armature Works area. There are several activities on the water as well.

The River walk was a pretty cool attraction/ park/ Good Eats! Walking and water play! We decided to go out there on a Sunday and I'm not sure if the food trucks are always out there but they had plenty to eat! Parking was free for us because we lucked up and found a great spot without a meter. We ended up grabbing a bit to eat at Bap Bap which is Korean street food, but there were several available options. Also the taxi boat, offered 18 stops for $25 per person and is definitely a must try!

I could not wait to visit the Tampa Riverwalk. We got lost trying to find the exact location. We walked it for a little and looked out over the water. I can see the river walk being a hang out location at night.

This is a great place to visit in downtown Tampa Bay. It's clean and you feel safe walking there even at night. I loved walking along the water and people watching. There were multiple water taxis in case you get tired.

Nice riverwalk but its not as amazing as I thought it would be. Maybe its because I went during the day vs at night. I went on a sunday afternoon for a nice walk and it was on the slow side which was great for me because I didn't want to deal with a crowd.

We would like to walk the entirety. Our son uses a wheelchair and we wonder where there is handicap parking?

The parking garage at Channelside has elevators, and is located before the start of the Riverwalk!

    Columbia's in Tampa?

There is one in Ybor, Tampa Airport, and Sand Key Beach in Clearwater. The one in Clearwater is waterfront- Beautiful!!

What would you recommend as a good starting point? We're going to go during the day and take a stroll and maybe lunch/drinks.

I would recommend Curtis Hixon Park as starting point. Walk to river and turn left to follow the Riverwalk. This will allow you to experience 90% of walk. If time is limited, then start at the approximate midpoint near the Sheraton.

The center is currently closed due to Covid but the bathrooms are open. From what I could tell, on our mad dash to the bathroom and distance viewing, the displays are informative and well done. I'd love to return when it is safe to and take a look. The park has three trails that are part of the spree. We hiked the Bobcat Trail since it includes the boardwalk. The trail travels for about a half mile through trees and over dusty shells. Then it connects to the boardwalk. This was by far the best part. We walked along the beautiful, tree lined water, getting up close and personal with a bunch of small black crabs. We scanned the water for manatees but were not lucky to find any. The trail ends back at the nature center. We climbed the back steps to the top level and caught a great view of the river and the distant city. After the hike we hit up the playground for a few minutes. This is always my kids' favorite part. We also stopped off at the butterfly garden which was pretty active on this day. The park was in great shape, the bathrooms were clean, there were lots of people around doing various park things. Canoeing, kayaking, hiking, nature hunting and playing on the playground are just some of the things available at your fingertips here. So glad we visited! Can't wait to return to check out the other trails.

There are plenty of shade trees, and there are a few areas to picnic as well as different playground areas if you feel one is too crowded for your little one. The pirate ship has a great musical area as most kids like to bang on things that they can control the sounds. There are plenty of open areas to play ball or just run from tree to tree like the squirrels. My only complaint is that the park could be a little better maintained for trash. There was random garbage that people should have thrown away, but they didn't, so it made the park look a little unkempt. Parking is plentiful but not in abundance in any one area, so be prepared to park and walk to the playground on a busy weekend or after school.

We rented a "small" shelter that had 24 person capacity. An all day rental was about $27, a bargain. The park is pretty big with multiple areas where you can park, so make sure you look at a park map to get an idea of where you should park to be closest to where you want to go. The playground looked like a lot of fun, but our shelter was closer to the tennis courts, and the kids ended up just running up and down the hill, which was fine with me! The area looked well-maintained, and the shelters were in better shape than the picnic shelters in most of the South Tampa parks.
