This is a wonderful bakery. Everyone loves this place. Especially people that are from here. They keep telling to try this place out. You have to try the brownies! That good? We just happened to be in the area and found this place and lucky enough to catch it right before it was closing for the day. Selections were limited since we came so late in the afternoon. Even though it was about to close. It still very busy. Parking is limited in front of the store and faces the Market Street. Do not be discouraged by this, they offer a little more parking in the back. I was so excited to see they still had some brownies left. To my understanding and what they told me; they usually sell out of them pretty quickly. I was thinking that they were a big piece. Far from it being a large portion. Actually the portions are small and great value! When I found out about the size and value. Ended up buying more of them. They offer a ooey gooey pie by the register. Trust me, buy it! Overall, what we bought was super delicious. You would think by looking at it would be too sweet and decadent. It was sweet, but not too sweet. Just right. They mentioned that they will start selling the chocolate cake by slice due to high demand. Must stop if you are in the area. Be mindful of when they close. Closer to when it closes, limited on what they have to offer you. Definitely grab a brownie. I am not much of chocolate person but that could eat daily. I am writing to share a disappointing experience with Anderson's Bakery in Pascagoula. On Tuesday, April 7th, my wife, Samaiyah Lilly, called to inquire about ordering a specialty cake for pickup on Friday, April 17th. She was clearly told that the order could be accommodated as long as she called back a few days in advance, with a stated cutoff as late as April 16th. Based on that guidance, she called back on April 15th--well within the timeframe provided--only to be told that the bakery could not fulfill the order. When asked for clarification, the employee refused to provide his name. I then requested to speak with a supervisor, who stated--rather abruptly--that they were unable to complete the order due to being short-staffed. While staffing challenges are understandable, the situation was handled in an unprofessional manner. There was no prior communication indicating a change in policy or availability, despite the clear expectations that had been set. When I raised this concern and suggested that such changes should be communicated (for example, on their website or at the time of inquiry), the supervisor responded dismissively and ultimately hung up the phone. This experience reflects not just a breakdown in communication, but also a lack of basic customer service and accountability. If a business is unable to honor previously communicated timelines, that should be clearly conveyed--and certainly handled with professionalism and respect. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and works to improve both communication practices and customer interactions moving forward. read more

Went there and the people seemed kind at first, then a delivery woman came in, struggling with carrying in 6 cartons of water, and many more soda cartons. Not ONCE did the people offer to help. Then the woman asked if she could prop the door open for easier access to bring the packs of water and soda in and they refused to let her because the heat would come in. I watched this woman struggle so much back and forth and then finally I got up and helped her when NOBODY else would. So awful and absolutely rude. I hope they tipped that woman well, I will never be coming back again, especially with service that awful. read more

The whole place had a fresh smell, which already made me feel confident about their cleanliness. I saw the staff sanitize their hands before serving. I had a slice of banana bread and it was soft, moist, and had just the right amount of sweetness. The packaging was also very neat. Another great trip to Anderson's! We got an eclair, two donuts, cupcakes, cookies with icing, and an apple fritter. All was delicious! There were two employees inside who despite our large group had us in and out of the shop quickly! The service was excellent. Highly recommend! read more

Long time fabulous bakery business. I've always had an Anderson's birthday cake as long as they've been in business. After Katrina in August the bakery had major damage and were closed for several months. My birthday being in October I didn't get my cake. As soon as they reopened that next spring I walked in and bought myself the birthday cake I missed. The service is always excellent too. Nice, friendly family atmosphere. read more

Anderson's Bakery is one of those old-style bakeries that's been around for quite some time. They offer custom cake and bakery services, and they're open very early in the morning. I see that one of the reviewers complained because they're not open 7 days a week. Yea, they're not open 7 days a week. But then again, everyone complains about WalMart coming in to towns and shutting down places like this. When you're dealing with a home-owned, long-standing, local place like this, it's hard to imagine them staying open late or 7 days per week. The family that owns this actually runs it, so I'm sure they have a life as well. It's just disappointing to see a fine place like this complained about because they don't carry the open hours of a WalMart, but then people complain about WalMart for other reasons as well. Once I walked in the door, the smell of deliciousness hit me. There were cookies, there were pastries, petit fours. They even have had a case of just beautifully decorated cakes. They had doughnuts, it didn't look like a lot of variety, but we did go at 1:00 so they may have already gone through them. I would love to come back in the morning time to see what is available. I got a carrot cake muffin with a cream cheese filling which was moist and creamy. My husband got an apple fritter and of course he devoured it. My aunt got an assortment of nicely decorated sugar cookies and some oatmeal raisin cookies. Overall great bakery and the staff was friendly. read more

Funny story... so I'm currently working in Pascagoula and I found out that during mardis gras season, there's is this deliciousness called a king cake with a little plastic baby hidden in it and if you get the piece with the baby in it you have to bring the next cake!!! Yay me because I grabbed the damn piece with said plastic baby. In my search for king cake, I ended up at this amazing bakery with the friendliest service and amazing desert... I recently ordered 6 dozen of their supposedly famous rainbow cookies to take to the school to both of my grandchildren classes. When I placed the order the lady that answered the phone could not answer my questions about what was in the recipe ,due to one of the classmates allergies, and told me maybe I just shouldn't order them then, which I thought was rude. I tried to order cupcakes for one class and cookies for the other and she said no way they would do cupcakes too. So I got all rainbow cookies, ended up being embarrassed because they were so stale almost none of the kids ate them, not to mention I was out 60 dollars. I have been getting cookies there my whole life and when I tasted the cookie I could see why the kids didn't eat them. They unloaded old cookies on me and these kids. At 7.30am, this place is BUMPIN'. Right next to Pascagoula HS too, an alarming number of teenagers get donuts in the morning. What happened to Chex or Lucky Charms? Anyway, I loved how soft these sweeties were - but not TOO sweetie. I think Krispy Kreme and Tato-Nut to a lesser extent think that the more sugar you can cram in there, the better the 'nuts are going to be. Not the case! 1. Not really a donut shop - limited selection. What they do have is tasty, but nothing to drive out of your way to get. 2. No Saturday service, therefore no fresh donuts/pastry for Saturday morning breakfast. You have to pick them up by 5 pm on Friday - hence - day-old donuts. 3. Terrible website. No product pictures/descriptions. Website says open at 7 am and sign in store window says 6 am. When do you open? No ability to communicate with the business via their website. 4. No seating inside. I bought and paid extra for a cake with the Bavarian cream filling. When we cut the cake, there was no filling. I had to wait until the next time they opened to tell them. I was basically called a liar. I took the cake that was left down there and showed them and got the money back for the difference in plain cake and filled and then the girl that told me she DID REMEMBER filling it apologized. too late!!
