Yesterday was my very first time looking and trying on wedding dresses for my september wedding, I went to Davids bridal with an appointment and it went well I only liked one dress I tried on the others I HATED and I felt very rushed and limited to what dresses I had to pick from, the lady I was working with was nice but was also helping other and wasn't as focused on me as I would like her to have been. One of my brides maids and I decided lets stop at Andersons just to see if we could look around or maybe be squeezed in, We went in and immediately I felt it was much more a family owed business, we were greeted by a smiling upbeat woman who introduced herself as Ranoda, asked if we have been there before, Congratulated me and got me all signed up. Then proceeded to ask me if I had a style in mind that I like, I told her and said, " Ahhh I have just the one!" Very energetic and you could definitely tell she loved what she did!!! we took our shoes off and started our journey to "The Wedding Room". It felt as if we were walking into a beautiful room filled with beautiful gowns and and it was ALL ABOUT ME!!! I lOVED it! she showed me gown after gown not limited to how many we were going to try on!!!! As my brides maid and I made our way around the room looking at beautiful elegant dress after dress we just pulled and pulled and pulled!!! She made me feel very comfortable and helped me into and out of every dress untill we found THE ONE!!! We all got quite excited and she started matching veils and even handed me a bouquet to pose with lol, She is a great lady amazing customer service and even helped us find awesome bridesmaid and maid of honor dresses!!! she got my measurements and all the prices for me and coupons!! Her mother had even came in for a bit to help and it was just nice to see it is very much family orientated owned business, she made me feel as if I had a close family member in there helping me in there!!! Sorry this is soo long but she truly made my and bridesmaid experience amazing and All i dreamed of as find "THE ONE". Im looking forward to going back to find flower girl dress and tuxes and for all the final fittings!!! read more

Hopefully Star will be your consultant! I was shopping for a wedding dress, and my expectations were wildly exceeded. I had previously shopped at designer boutiques, secondhand gown shops, and more generic bridal shops in Seattle and elsewhere in Washington, as well as Anchorage. Buying a wedding dress can be stressful, and my experiences weren't great in any of those stores (think: inattentive assistants, time constraints, pressure to buy, me in tears). Anderson's Bride was completely different- and mostly because of Star, who went above and beyond to find me a dress in my price range (low!), to make me comfortable, and to ensure we had a good experience. We tried dresses that I admired, and Star also pulled dresses that she thought I might like or might flatter my figure, and I actually ended up purchasing one of those gowns. Star extended my appointment, and even made time for me to come back the next day to try on the dresses I couldn't decide between. She contacted me via phone and email to check on how my decision process was going, and it was by far the best customer service I had experienced. I see there are several uncomplimentary reviews on this site, but my experience was totally positive and wonderful. I suggest scheduling enough time for your appointment so you don't feel rushed, and allow yourself the option of coming back in a day or a week to make the final decision. Of all the details and things to plan for a wedding, actually getting my wedding dress at Anderson's has been the best part. I cannot recommend Star more highly. read more

Great experience. After 15 years my husband and I are renewing our vows. I don't wear dresses, in fact-the last time I was in one was our first wedding!!! So, I didn't want to just order one from the Internet without trying a couple on, to get a good idea of what style would look best and what I would feel comfortable in. I walked in realizing I would probably be asked to make an appointment, however Erika Ohm the wonderful saleswoman started pulling dresses and explaining what cuts would do what for hips, chest, etc.... I should also add that I've been enlisted for 21 years in the Air Force. I knew that Brides across America was going on, I just didn't think I qualified. Because mine wasn't an actual wedding but a recommitment ceremony. This is the program that donates a wedding dress to military brides. The second dress I tried on fit great!! If my ceremony were tomorrow, I could wear the dress! I loved it-it was the one. I asked what the damage was and Erika waved her hand thanked me for my service and told me the dress was mine!!!! The owner Erica Anderson GAVE me a $1300 dress. These ladies are in the right business. It's more important to them that you're happy than their profits!!! $1300 is more than double what I wanted to spend on the dress for my event. I still can't believe it, I feel like I stole it! If you've got a wedding or formal event coming up, do yourself a favor and make this your first stop!!! They're more concerned with their customer's happiness than making a buck! If I can give Anderson's bride negative stars, I would! I had a terrible experience there for wedding dress shopping! As I finish my paperwork the lady at the front desk turn to another woman and said would you like to take this one? She rolled her eyes and said I guess so. Red flag #1! Then she took me to the back she told me to pick out any dress I wanted to try on. She told me not to worry about my size! But when you are a size 16 to 18 you cannot fit in a size 0! Red flag #2. So I started to pull dresses. When I was about to try them on she asked me whether she needed to help me put my dresses on or not. I told her of course you're supposed to. She rolled her eyes at me again, very rude. As I was about to put on my first dress, she threw the dress on the floor open the top up for me and told me to step in. So I grabbed the dress and started to pull up. But the dress was a size 4, I'm a size 16 to 18. So when we were pulling up the dress she told me to keep trying. I told her it was okay, it was not going to fit. But she told me to keep going. She pulled it so much that she ripped it. This happened several times, with several dresses. Then I told her I was only going to try on the plus size dresses at that point. She said fine. So she grabbed all the plus size dresses she could. I tried on seven Dresses in a half an hour. I was very unhappy and very displeased with the customer service they had there. If you are a plus size bride like me, or any bride for that matter, do not go to Anderson's bride! read more

I had a great experience at Anderson's. I was greeted as soon as I arrived for my appointment. After listening to what type of dress I was looking for, Oma walked around the racks of bridal gowns with me helping me pick out dresses I wanted to try on. She also went into the back and pulled other dresses she thought I might like. She was very attentive and helpful during my entire appointment, spending a full two and a half hours with me. I never felt like she was pushing anything on me. If I said I didn't like a dress we quickly moved on. Once we finally finished, I was pretty sure I had found my dress. I did have an appointment at David's Bridal as well that day, and wanted to go there before I made my final decision. It didn't take long to decide I wanted the dress at Anderson's. I went back and Oma helped me again. The dress fit me perfectly, it just needed to be hemmed, as I am pretty short. I was pleasantly surprised when they offered to hem it right away so I could take it home with me. I live in Fairbanks, which is roughly 360ish miles away. There willingness to hem my dress right away saved me time and a significant amount of money by eliminating the trip I was expecting to have to make later on to come back and pick up my dress. I had a wonderful experience and found a dress I absolutely love. The one thing I would note is that their prices are definitely a bit higher than say David's Bridal. But, if your budget allows it, I would absolutely recommend going to Anderson's. read more

This was a wonderful experience for me! They were very accommodating for me and my awkward choice of groomsmen: my sister and a friend who lives in another state. When I came we were pleasantly greeted and Jim sat down with us and a huge binder full of their wide selection of tuxedos. We flipped through and found a few that we liked, and then Jim and Erika A. made suggestions on what they thought would be best for me. When I ultimately chose something different they were not pushy at all. When they didn't have the exact colors I wanted for the vest and tie, they went out of their way to get the right things for me. They were courteous the whole time. They handled the order perfectly even though each of us had something different to wear. One other great thing was when I was being fitted, it wasn't awkward. As a large guy, I was pretty nervous about my measurements but he handled it really well and it wasn't so awkward. This was a great experience for me and when everything came in we all looked great in our beautiful tuxes. I've used men's warehouse in the past for a friend's wedding but when the tux came in it didn't fit right and they were pretty snobby. They don't take any of the care and attention to detail like Anderson's Bride does. I recommend Anderson's Bride to anyone who needs a tux for any purpose. read more

I bought my wedding dress from Anderson's Bride in May of 2013. The service was fantastic! Erica N. helped me pick out my dress. I wasn't too picky but I had an idea of what I wanted. After talking it over, Erica went and picked out some dresses for me to try on. I fell in love with the third dress which was the one I ultimately ended up buying. I loved everything about it! She also helped me pick out a veil. The service was great when I got the dress altered as well. I definitely would recommend this place to everyone! My bridesmaids got their dresses here. It worked out quite well since one of bridesmaids lives out of the state. I got the dress pretty quick and mailed it down to her. When she got to town for the wedding she dropped her dress off at Anderson's Bride and they steamed it so it was ready to go. My husband and his groomsman also got their tuxedos from Anderson's Bride and service was great. They definitely took the time to help him pick out what he wanted. We rented the tuxedos and everything came in on time and correctly. I also bought my prom dress from Anderson's bride back in 2007. The service was great then which is why I went back there for my wedding dress. If you are looking for a wedding dress, prom dress, bridesmaid dress, or tuxedos, this is the place to go!! read more

I'm all about supporting small local businesses so when my sister was getting married we made sure to schedule an appointment at Andersons Bride to try on wedding gowns to see if we could find her the perfect dress. We arrived for our scheduled appointment right on time and were told it would just be a few minutes so we asked if we could go ahead and browse the gowns. When we mentioned the amount of our budget the courtesy and response changed dramatically. We were shown to our fitting area but that is pretty much where the assistance from the employees stopped. My sister had just a few dresses to try on because she received very little attention. The wedding consultant that should have worked with us considering we had a scheduled appointment did nothing. When my sister was trying on gowns we ( her wedding party) were the ones that helped her with her corset and fastening the gown. At a previous bridal shop the wedding consultant couldn't do enough to help her. Once we realized that we were being ignored due to the fact that we mentioned her lower budget we gathered our things and walked out. I will never give Andersons Bride my business nor will I recommend them to anyone. Whether or not you have a low budget or the sky's the limit every bride deserves the same memorable experience. read more

As a native to this state finding the ideal outdoor location and natural touches for my ceremony are just as important as incorporating local touches. I am SO thankful we have such a great bridal boutique in town to go to such as Anderson's. I had heard some unflattering things about the service but was pleasantly surprised. Upon arriving I joined my bridesmaids in a comfortable seating area before we got started. I was offered to start my fitting promptly, or to wait a few minutes for them to clear out the 'main' dress area--yes!!! The older lady Erica, I believe, was very attentive in bringing dresses as suggestions. I'm a bit of a diva and to no surprise the "stand in the mirror and looksie" part took much longer than expected. I was shocked to look at my watch and see 6:45--they close at 6!! There was no pushy sales pitch like other places, and they even offer GREAT deals when purchasing for the whole wedding party. I got each bridesmaid dress for $125. Was tickled to have actually come in under budget on my dress :-) So thankful for the selection, customer service, and general level of care the store had to offer. Especially pleased to keep with my theme of going local for my big day. read more

As an older bride, I was apprehensive about the "dress search, but from the moment we entered Anderson's, I felt welcomed and at ease. The"team" at Anderson's is incredible! My daughter, who is 14 and has a rare brain malformation called schizencephaly, is participating in the special pageant called Miss Alaska Amazing. This is one of the only times she's able to dress up as a "normal" teenager. Anderson's owner reached out to me and said that they would like to donate a dress to her for her pageant. We went in this morning, and both Erica's waited on my daughter hand and foot. Now, my daughter isn't the easiest girl to get dressed. Imagine dressing a 2X4. That's how her diagnosis works for her. She's got super tight muscles. They let us get her dressed in numerous gowns on the floor (since she can't stand). We had our choice of short, long, bridesmaids, prom dresses, even wedding gowns. The amount of attention that was spent on my daughter was over the moon generous! I bought my vow renewal dress there back in 2015, and will continue to use them as my "dress shopping store"! Had a bad experience at David's Bridal, which was surprising to me. I left with my bridesmaids and decided to to go Anderson's with a pretty much disappointed mood. When I got in I noticed the dress selection was considerably smaller but since I didn't have an appointment, I looked around with my girls for a few minutes and Oma opened a dressing room for me to try some on. When she was done with her final appointment (I got there at 5:15) she came and brought me a few dresses that she thought I'd like. Since the search didn't go so well I was about to give up until I tried on this dress that completely TRANSFORMEDe and changed everything! Oma was wonderful and sassy and everything I liked about shopping that day. She made me feel so much better and service was incredible! I have my dress! read more

We have had outstanding service from Star who sold my daughter Shelby her wedding dress! Since my daughter lives in Texas, alterations were being done at Alfred Angelo's. We had awful service at the Alfred Angelo's stores. Star immediately got involved, calling corporate and making things right, moving the dress to a store closer to her for alterations. Shelby showed up for her appointment that corporate booked only to find out that her appointment was never booked. I went back to Anderson Bride just to get advice on the poor service in Texas. I had a great experience shopping at Anderson's. Tracy worked with me, and was so fun & helpful. The whole experience of picking out and trying on dresses was enjoyable, and Tracy helped me find a dress that I loved. I had been at David's Bridal earlier in the day, and felt like I was completely on my own - it was stressful & totally unhelpful. Anderson's was a completely different picture. Tracy asked me lots of questions about what I was looking for, and pulled some gorgeous dresses to help me pick out the right one. The dresses there are a bit more expensive, but I felt like they were much better quality, and more unique, than the dresses I had tried on at David's. I don't know what the bad reviews are for...maybe back in the day there was bad customer service...but I went there recently (March of 2011) and had great service... Erika was wonderful in helping me and being very thorough and caring...the seamstress, Aggy, was delightful as well - she got my fittings done quickly (within a few weeks) and did a wonderful job! I would definitely recommend this place for brides, bridesmaids, and whomever else. The men were very helpful too...everyone whom I saw in the store was being helped and were very happy! I had Jewel helping me with wedding dress shopping. She was so sweet and so kind. Not only was she amazing at what she does but you can tell she really loves it. She just radiated so much joy and she made that experience the most wonderful experience that I could've ever dreamed it could be. I highly recommend going to Anderson's bridal and recommending Jewel. The dresses were beautiful and I found my dress my first time ever wedding dress shopping at Anderson's bridal. Erika Oma is the absolutely sweetest. She knows her stuff and treated me like her daughter from the moment I walked in. Additionally, she let me see her whole selection in the store. I've been to a couple other bridal boutiques at this point and usually only can find one dress that I was "yea-maybe" about.. at Anderson's I was able to find 4 gowns I absolutely loved!!... picking one of the 4 was incredibley difficult BUT Erika helped so much by posing me and the mirrors in the store so I could see side by side pictures of all of them! I went into Anderson's after being severely disappointed in Davids Bridal. I had a wonderful experience shopping with great help and found a dress that I loved. While my dress was on order my husband and I were forced to move the wedding up. Anderson's were wonderful and worked with my husband and I to get my dress altered and finished as well as the groomsmen fitted. They were so accommodating and understanding. This lady was awful. She acted like I was a pest while she filed her nails. When she finally got up to help me she didn't believe my bra size so she was pulling the wrong size dresses. Of course none were flattering. After awhile of feeling frustrated I left and went to David's Bridal. They were much much better. Don't waste your time here they only want to waste yours. read more
