The zipper on the only dress I brought for a family funeral broke while I was getting ready for the service. I am not from this area. So I called local places and to no avail. Mee told me to give her an house so I went back to my hotel. When I got back to my note, Mee told me she was done. It was less than 30 mins. Not only did Mee fix my zipper, but she didn't want to charge me! I wanted to pay, but she kept insisting that it was okay. I've been coming to Queen's Cleaners for several years. I recently picked up an order and had a disagreement with the woman working. She was extremely unprofessional and disrespectful to a long-standing customer, arguing with me and non-apologetic. My dad uses these guys, so I've never really used another cleaner in Anchorage (I recently moved home and so had plenty of experiences with other cleaners outside). Queens had broken buttons a few times in the past, but nothing serious, and nothing I ever complained to them about. Today I went to put on a nice custom chambray that I'd had cleaned for the first time ever last week. There is a rectangular hole a little under an inch to a side in the front of the shirt over my short ribs. I took it in, and the response was: "We do 500 shirts a day, no problems." and abject denial of any possible responsibility. I may spend a bit too much on clothes, but I like them a lot. And while I've put holes in plenty of things... I can pretty much tell you the story of everything I own and how it got each blemish. I didn't put this hole there, and I certainly won't be returning to Queens. I'm a little heartbroken over my shirt, but mostly really irritated at the stone-faced lack of accountability. read more

This place completely ruined my dress and refused to replace it or even return the cost of cleaning. My white collar came back beige with spots of black dye on it. I've been told it's because they use dirty cleaning solution. Avoid this place if you don't want your clothes ruined. read more

I have been taking my laundry here since the beginning of the summer. All was going well until I got my laundry back last week, and several articles were missing. They were small, but still. For $2/pound when there's a place downtown that's $1.35/pound, I'd expect to get every article of clothing I dropped off back, so I'm going to take my business elsewhere. I was lured into coming to this place by initial low prices on alterations. However, after taking my alterations there on a regular basis, the prices started to rise. The issue I have with this is they refused to tell me how much the alteration will be or even give an estimate of how much it will cost, claiming they do not know until they do it. Really? That is interesting because every dry cleaner I have ever been to gives me an estimate on alterations or a price outright if the alterations person is there. On my latest visit the alterations lady was there and her and the apathetic, catty cashier girl claimed they had absolutely "no idea" how much it would cost. The problem with that is you drop it off, you come to pick it back up and find out the price is outrageous and you don't want to pay that much... then what happens? Do they get to keep your garment? So, I dropped off 3 dresses and was confronted with a $70 alterations bill. One dress simply required the waist to be taken in and I was charged $25 for that. So, when I expressed that I was displeased with the price the catty cashier girl simply rolls her eyes, kind of laughs and just looks at me like "Are you going to pay or what?" I'll tell you what I'm going to do... I'm going to find another dry cleaners to go to. I'm going back to Kim's One Hour Dry Cleaners because I can do without the cattiness, they give me prices before doing the alterations and they are much nicer. UPDATE ~ After trying on the "altered" dresses I discovered the following: One dress was taken in too much and is now too tight, one dress did not appear to have been worked on at all yet I was charged $25 for "alterations" and one dress was done at least 75% correctly, but is still not tight enough. Wow! This place has lost two pairs of our pants and they blame us for losing them. They also refuse to offer any type of refund. Their customer service is HORRENDOUS. I would not recommend this cleaners to anyone. read more

I have been using Queens for yrs too. But recently, they screwd up my husband work shirts, and just this week I asked for lite starch, they said I asked for meduim. The shirts were like boards..... I asked them to redo, and she wanted to charge me again, so I put my foot down and said no....Well I pick them up to day and the were no different, stiff as a board!!! they didn't do any thing to them I'm so mad right now. Recently got a suit back from Queens. Made the mistake of not checking the suit before I left the store. The suit went in the closet. A month later, when I needed to wear it, I pulled it out and the jacket was not my jacket. Different size, different brand. Unfortunately, I no longer had the service ticket. I went back to Queens to inquire as to whether another customer may have returned a jacket. Immediately they struck a defensive posture. They "looked up" my history on the computer and told me that I had never brought a suit there. They suggested that I may have had them mixed up with another dry cleaner? I asked to see the computer and was told that they couldn't show that information to customers.....huh????? I had gone EXCLUSIVELY to Queens for nearly 20 years. I had brought that suit in at least 3 times over the last 4 years. Their response to the situation was disgusting. Look at the other reviews, and Alaska Courtview. Denial appears to be standard operating procedure for lost or mixed up orders. I was a loyal customer for 20 years and now I'm out a $1,200 suit. Thanks Queens. read more

Just picked up my order. Totally overcharged. Was charged $6 just to iron a ss shirt. (dryclean and press less than that). I wear a man's uniform shirt for work yet I am charged for a women's shirt which is 3X the price of a man's. I pointed out the over charges and the employee did NOT make an adjustment. One rude employee can ruin everything! I was using their service for a several month and everything was great until last time. A returned a couple of items to be redone and a jacket to be sewn since it was not done in the first place. I received a slip which clearly indicated that I owed $0.00; however, when I came to pick up my items again, I was told to pay additional money. When I refused, the guy pulled the jacket from me an told me to pay or to leave without a jacket. When I refused to leave he said he would call the police which I agreed on. He told me that I could spend the entire day but still will not get my jacket. He was unbelievably rude!!! I asked if I could talk to an owner ad suggested that I look it up online. Other employees heard us but nobody said anything. They looked scared. That said, I won't go there ever again and make sure none of my friends does. Good job being rude! read more

I had been going to Queens Dry Cleaners for years as an established customer. Recently, I had brought in several new dress/casual shirts to be pressed. When I went in to pick them up, they had no record of them. They had lost them. Like most, I did not have my receipt. I asked the owner on several occasions to contact me which she never did. I brought in my receipt for the shirts showing that timeline. I believe they were either given to the wrong customer or possibly stolen (they were rather nice shirts). When I asked the owner if she thought I was "lying," she said nothing. Almost agreeing with me... They did not offer compensation for the lost items. Not even store credit. I would strongly discourage patroning this business. read more
