Yesterday we had our second rental this summer and we felt that the customer service could have been much more pleasant and accommodating. We waited 30 minutes for our pontoon to be ready and were told by Lee Conary that he would not take anything off our rental. 'I don't do discounts'. He also was trying to tell us we had only been there a few minutes when we knew exactly when we arrived, and just generally was rude and short. As lovers of Kezar Lake and regular customers out of necessity, we simply want to state how disappointing it is, once again, that there is not more kindness and care consistently.

The guy who runs it is a straight shooter and he backs his work. I am a pain in the ass client who's had to have them come out on the lake twice over the years to jump me. No issue. Pain in the ass? Thinks he's too smart? Dude, this is Maine, not the Jersey Shore, take in a little Yankee color and relax. I grew up in Cape Cod and we wish they had this kind of place there. All the staff are local high school and college kids who are polite and hustle.

This year I was convinced to join another couple families for their yearly trip to On the Saco Campground and I'm glad I did. It's not a huge place, but it's very well kept and VERY clean. No smelly outhouses or grimy bathrooms, both were maybe a little rustic but in good working order and again, very clean. My site was tree lined giving plenty of privacy, nicely mowed and had a fire ring. I don't know if they employ some kind of mosquito management but for a wooded site about 80ft from water, I didn't get one bite over my 3 night stay. There's a little store with pretty much any essential you may have forgotten for sale, small game room, washer/dryer, and dishwashing area. You can rent tubes and canoes, (I did both) and the staff is super friendly and helpful, (especially when we got caught in the rain and they came to pick us up earlier and at a different location than intended). They had some kind of activity everyday, I saw face painting one afternoon by the office, there was a glow stick parade one night, corn-hole tournament the next, and a movie night the third. A lot of Saco campground are shitshows, (I'm talking about you Fiddlehead!) full of wasted college kids, this place IS NOT THAT. If that's what you want, keep moving. However, if you're looking for a clean, friendly place that is definitely family friendly and a more peaceful but still fun experience I'd recommend On the Saco Family Campground for sure.

Some of us are new to ATV and some of us (like my myself, an adrenaline junkie) has some experience. :D Our tour guide was very knowledgable and funny. He let us practice before we got on to the actual trail. By the end of the tour, we were making sharp turns, flying up and down steep hills, and splashing through mud puddles. It was extremely fun! Make sure to wear a bandana and goggles!

I eventually reached a live person on my third day of trying to book a trail ride for family; they were rude about booking, wouldn't allow an 11 year old experienced rider to ride without a rope led companion horse and said they didn't know if the possibility of rain would affect the ride and whether we'd go out. I didn't really get along with one of them but I have a feeling it's because the horse could tell I don't know diddely about riding a horse. hahaha.
