I'll just hit the facts to keep this short. Stopped in for late lunch before flight. Place was fairly crowded. Seated at pizza bar counter. Service was fast and attentive. Food was good (fantastic by airport standards). I had a small Caesar salad and a chicken & vegetable pizza. Ingredients were fresh and prepared/cooked correctly. I've been here twice and both times the food was delicious for airport Italian food. I highly recommend the gnocchi with the palmina sauce. The sauce was to die for! The service was decent, but the food is definitely what you should stop by for if you have some time to spare at the airport. read more

I got stuck here because of a missed connections, and ended up having a 4+ hour layover. Staff was awesome - very friendly and attentive, especially Brigid and Cecily. I stayed to watch the NFL playoffs and have a glass of wine. I had the arugula salad, and got a pesto and cheese flatbread to go. Both were amazing. If you ever find yourself in the airport at Detroit, be sure to stop here for a bite! read more

Sat down and waited 20 minutes for service. The restaurant was 75% empty and no one ever came to my table. The man who sat down after me had a server at his table twice. I should have listened to the bad reviews before trying to eat here. Needless to say, I left without dinner. read more

Beware when you order a glass of wine!! I ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc and it was $16 for a 5 oz pour!!! Shame on me for not asking for a wine list! Shame on the bartender for not asking if I had a preference. Won't make that mistake again. read more

Great food, especially for an airport restaurant. The best dinner I've had at an airport in a long time. The lasagna bolognese was excellent. Watch out though - they're pricey, especially with the wine, as other reviews have mentioned. Nonetheless, it is common for drinks to be way overpriced at an airport restaurant. Not cool, but common. I am happy I stopped in and tried the gnocci. It was very filling and I though it had a good taste. I added sausage and it came as a link and that was good too. it was nice not to have a chain meal and I think the pasta is homemade. I debated on a boring pizza and glad I made the effort to go find this place. bar was great conversation was good and the most important thing the service was great. they know how to greet and treat customers. I enjoyed the whole experience and didn't feel stressed to move on wait forever for food. will return when in the airport again. read more

I've been here 3 times now for breakfast before traveling out of town for work and the food is alway great, but the service is always slow. Yesterday was the worst! We waited 15 minutes to be greeted. We tried flagging down 2 servers and they said they would be right there and then never came back to our table. Finally someone took our drink and food order but then waited another 10 minutes for our drinks. In all we waited an hour for our food. We finally had to threaten to leave when they finally brought us our food and bill. They don't ever apologize for the delay and didn't discount our meal. I would partially blame the manager who does the scheduling. They definitely need an additional 2 servers on for breakfast. But the servers also need to learn how to multitask a little better. I've been in the a server for over 5 years so I understand things get hectic but they need to do a little better with handling a rush. read more

Never eat here staff walking around aimlessly doing nothing. Second time in a year I visited this place complained about poor service slow service then. Figured had to be new management but nothing has changed sat there 15 minutes no one came to take my order so we walked out again. Great sushi bar around the corner. If you have time to kill go here and watch the employees walking around laughing and talking to themselves. Would not recommend this place I've been here twice and still have never tasted the food! Service is terrible - last visit I met my husband between flights for a quick glass of wine and maybe a bite to eat. It took forever but they were busy so I thought I'd give them a second chance this morning when they were not busy. I could not get a waitress to even look at me let alone take my order. Based on the number of people standing up or holding up their hands to try to check out I decided it was not meant to be. I tried to speak to a manager but that was s no show as well. French fries and a fried baloney sandwich is a panini there. Greasy and pretty gross.

The food is great! They have a good chef staff and you can tell by not just the flavor but presentation of the food itself!

I stopped in for what I thought would be a quick dinner. I ordered calamari and a kale salad with a piece of salmon on top. Keep in mind all other diners were drinking only accept for a couple next to me sharing a pizza. I sat at the bar next to the kitchen. The doors to the kitchen were open and all of the "cooks" were mopping and cleaning. The bartender kept going to the kitchen to check on my order as she knew I had limited time. The calamari finally arrived 25 minutes after ordering. The kale salad was approaching 30 minutes and the "chef" told the bartender he needed at least 10 more minutes. I pre-paid so I could leave quickly after eating. My gate was called so I had to leave before even seeing the salad. They charged me for everything anyways. Terribly slow service and no sign of leadership anywhere. There was staff milling around chewing food in the dining room and apparently all kitchen staff were focused more on cleaning than cooking. There were no other food orders so they were certainly not in the weeds. When there is a true lack of leadership it is evident everywhere in the workplace and this was one of the worst examples i've witnessed. Do yourself a favor and pick another place to eat, there are plenty of options. read more

This review is the first step I'm taking in an attempt to report to the corporate offices of Andiamo restaurant group extremely unprofessional and unethical behavior from the Andiamo DTW staff - in particular the manager Hassan. 5 of us went to Andiamo for drinks and dinner last night before our flights home. My sister and I were discussing whether we would get the $36 bottle of cabernet, or the slightly more expensive ($45?) Pinot Noir. The waitress was standing between us while we had this conversation and said "Our Edge Cabernet is actually very good", which all of us (and anyone in the situation would) assumed was her recommendation of the cabernet we were discussing (the $36 bottle) over the pinot option. We agreed to go with the Cab, and ordered a second bottle halfway through our dinner. Upon receipt of our bill, we found out that the wine she "sold" us was $70 PER BOTTLE. Long story short, Hassan would only come speak with me after I demanded to talk to him TWICE. He said there was nothing he could do, and that I should have double checked the price of the wine that the waitress recommended. I have had hundreds (thousands?) of different restaurant experiences in my life, but this was the first time I've ever felt the need to sign up for YELP and specifically take action after one of them. All of us were in complete disbelief at how the waitress and manager handled the situation. Andiamo Restaurant Group should take a serious look at their "manager" Hassan. Not someone you want running the show. read more
