I met Dr. Andrade and his wife Julie back in the summer of 2006. A family friend told me that she went there for care and that they were looking for an office administrator. I ended up working for him for about a year and a half! I would have stayed longer but I left on maternity leave and ended up being a stay at home mom for a year. When I became employed I immediatly became a student in my eyes because I learned so much from him. I found a completely different outlook on health and life in general! I am so thankful to have stumbled across this position because without it I wouldnt be who I am today. After my daughter was born, I brought her in to get adjusted when she was 3 days old. We both came in 3 days a week to get our adjustments. Eventually I had my whole family coming in for care and I refer patients there whenever possible. Getting adjusted is not only for people who have been in accidents or have medical issues but also for preventative care. My daughter is now 3 years old and she still gets adjustments about once a week. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. Andrade Chiropractic is the best thing that's ever happened to me. For the last several years, I've had wicked lower back pain and migraines. Doctors always suggested pain killers and time, but we all know those are not solutions. I finally made the best decision ever and headed over to this fabulous place. The first day I went in I could barley walk or stand up straight because my back was so messed up. When I left, I could move every which way. I literally cried. Dr Ralf Andrade is simply just amazing. He has taken well care of my wife and all her family throughout the years, and also me off and on for the past 4 years. (Both times my disc slipped). Let me preface my review with the thought that many people probably like the treatment they receive from this office. I had heard good things about this office and was in need of chiropractic care near my home. Dr. Andrade was at the Bean Festival and was offering a special of initial visit, xrays, etc for a festival special of $20. So I plunked my money down, got a mini-assessment and made my appointment. I have had chiropractic care for many years from one of the instructors at Palmer College, so I thought I knew what to expect. I went in for the initial appointment. They took x-rays and did a full assessment. I explained my history, where adjustments were typically needed, etc. I was given a lesson on "sublaxation", and asked about it again at the surprising end to my appointment - no adjustment! A follow-up appointment was scheduled, and I thought here would be my relief! At the follow up, I was brought into the room and the office manager came in to quiz me again on sublaxation and then discuss the treatment plan. Then I was told the treatment plan . . . which started with visits three times a week for eight weeks, and was laid out for over 18 months!!! I explained, again, that I have had chiropractic before, and new that I would need weekly treatment for probably 3-4 weeks, followed by monthly for a couple of months, and then out to 5-6 weeks. She left, and came back in with a new treatment plan - less visits, and now less money. They don't take my insurance (Kaiser), which wasn't unexpected, but their rates were equivalent to Bay Area fees (and higher than I was paying in Sunnyvale!). I was surprised that they could change the treatment plan so quickly. I told them I would have to think about it, and when they called to follow up, I said I didn't think were the right fit. For me, I felt like my previous chiropractic care and knowledge of my own body were not taken into consideration. I was very irritated to be quizzed on sublaxation constantly (I don't expect my mechanical to quiz me on internal combustion, just fix the car!), and to have been in the office twice with no treatment was a complete waste of my time. I am on the hunt again for a local chiropractor and will be using Yelp to help with my search! read more

This review is based on the several phone calls with the front office. Dr. Andrade is not in my insurance network so I'm super bummed but I'd like to review several total pluses that I think deserve mentioning. New to Tracy and with a pulled/pinched/tweaked lower back and hip flexor pain, I came to Yelp to search for a chiropractor (my usual guy is in Sunnyvale). One of the names I began to start researching was Andrade Chiro. What immediately pulled at my heartstrings was the holistic approach and numerous resources he offers on his website (see Featured Articles and other homepage links). I called after hours on Friday and a super sweet gal, Myra, answered my call. I told her I was prepared to leave a message but was grateful she answered. I shared with her what was going on and she advised that, while I was not in-network, she would run my coverage and we'd go from there. In addition, to make sure I was seen, booked me for a Monday appt. After several phone calls with Myra today (Monday), I've decided that paying out of pocket is just something I can't afford right now but to please share with the Dr how impressed I was with his website and offerings. After a small collision I had a stiff neck. I called Andrade Chiropractic and Dr. Ralph Andrade answered the phone and saw me right away even though he was closing the office and heading out of town for a weekend with his wife. They both met me at the office and he took his time and checked me over. I found after going to him for several appointments over several months, that he always answers his phone directly when his office staff is out or the office is closed. This is the way to run a business and show your customers that you care enough to answer the phone whenever they call. Impressive? Yes, and his care was just as impressive. He cheerfully and skillfully alleviated the stiff neck, headaches, and lower back aches. After the initial accident related injuries were cured, I continued to go for a bad knee caused by a hip going out and back stifness from the large amount of driving I do for my job. He even helped me get over a painful thumb (carpal?) from the computer work I do. He has great nutritional advice. He goes to seminars to stay current with the latest knowlege and skillfully incorporates that into his practice. Impressive. He is a loving family man and genuinely loves his patients. He is skillful in getting to the source of your pain and his treatments make a huge difference in my energy and well being. I am always amazed that he "gets rid of the pain". A couple of years ago, I met Dr. Andrade at the Tracy Bean Festival. After a brief discussion where he assured me that he accepted my insurance, Blue Cross, we made an appointment for me to be evaluated and hopefully treated for back and neck pain (I have been suffering from cervical spondylosis for years). At the conclusion of the appointment one of the ladies who works at the office came in the room and presented me with a one year plan that would cost me $2,300.00 out of pocket. Although I thought that was quite expensive, I had heard good things about Dr. Andrade and having never been to a chiropractor before, didn't have anything to compare it to. At my first treatment, I paid the amount in full. It would have cost even more if I had made payments. I want to give credit where due and must say that the treatments did help. This is the reason that I gave him two stars instead of one. A few months into the treatment I found out that Dr. Andrade was not a provider recognized by my insurance and that I could have been treated for no money out of pocket. Since I paid in-full and in cash, I figured the money is gone. I also felt that had I confronted him at that time that I would have received poor chiropractic treatment the rest of the time that was left on the plan. I didn't trust him. At the end of the one year plan, I was presented with another plan. It was at this time that I let him know that I felt like I was lied to and taken advantage of. Needless to say, I didn't buy another plan from him. I have since been going to Active Physical Therapy who does accept my insurance. I have no out of pocket expense and have to say that Jim and Kay Miller (the owners) are FANTASTIC! read more

Dr Andrade is a great Chiropractic. I always had issues with my back from work sports and martial arts training. I went to a chiropractic in the bay area when we lived there. I started to get treatments when I strain my back and could not walk. My wife and my daughter took me to his office on the same day of the injury. He got me back on my feet in about a week. He got me on a treatment plan to keep me from having set backs. As he quoted "Sam take it easy your not young any more you just can't bounce out of bed and take on the world". It has been great for me and he has gave alot of knowledge on what to do and not to do and be more in tune with my health and my lower back. I was worried that I was going to have back problems later in life. I don't feel that way any more. That is very important to all of us that get older. He now takes care of our younger daughter.
