My husband and I have worked with Andrea on three home transactions - two sales and one purchase (sold "his/hers" and bought "ours"). Each sale had its own complexities - I suppose they all do. We love Andrea and are so appreciative of everything she has done for us.
She navigated pricing around my emotional sale of my S. Austin home, giving us sound advice on what repairs and enhancements were realistic and helping us market around the holiday. We had a very low offer that threw us off for a moment, but ultimately we sold the home for *exactly* the price I had in my mind when we went on the market.
A few years later, we didn't even realize we were looking until there was a spreadsheet (that's how it always begins...) and the next thing I knew we were calling Andrea to tell her we were thinking about buying and selling. The purchase of our home was, in a word, dramatic. The home was an estate sale, the family was at war, and there was no end to the discussions and worries. I think she may now have credentials as a marriage counselor as well. :)
At that same time, we were selling my husband's home in N. Austin. The market was hot, and we had several offers to think about. We wanted to encourage best offers without a long drawn-out bidding war, and Andrea's advice about timing and the realistic value of our home was both honest and optimistic. She quickly advised on the offers, called for best and final, and we were thrilled with the outcome. The final sale was $15k over our asking price. We also had some interest in the home before it was officially on the market with a persistent realtor who wanted a private sale. Andrea was graceful in how she handled the situation, given that this was a neighbor we could not completely avoid during our final weeks living in the home.
I look around and think to myself that there is no way we will move again, because we are so happy with our home. But if we do ever buy an investment property or decide to move, Andrea is on speed-dial. We've been through it all at this point given all the inspections, negotiations, ups and downs, emotions and celebratory clinking of glasses. read more
