I wanted to try to go with AmFam since my family always has used them and had good experience (I'd strayed in recent years and although I haven't had bad experiences, I just wanted to see if there was something better. There are about 3 AmFam offices fairly near my home. I called this one first since it's the farthest from me. I figured I'd call and get the run around and get frustrated, so that would leave me working with the two offices closer to me. I was wrong. I called and had an incredibly pleasant conversation. She took my information and promised a call back or an email. Within a couple of hours I had a quote by email that was about $200 cheaper per year that my current auto policy and had better coverage. I asked for an appointment so I could really talk to an agent to make sure all my needs were met, so went in this week to meet with Andrew. I was there early, he came right out and we got to work. It was not a super-fast process, but I took a lot of comfort in knowing all my questions were being answered and I was getting exactly what I wanted and needed. I grew up in a smaller town and our insurance agent knew my whole family. I miss that experience and feel like I probably have found the next best thing for living in the "big city".
