Such a special restaurant that spans several generations. Monica, part of the Gigetto family made our visit so special. She even gave us a tour of her pride and joy --the amazing wine cellar. She manages inventory and organization of this huge collection. She was just darling and I felt privileged to get so much of her time. There is a large outdoor area where you can sit and watch the sunset after an amazing meal. The restaurant itself is very beautifully decorated with white linen tablecloths. That being said it is not necessary to get all dressed up although it would be appropriate to do so if one wished. You may arrive by car or by boat as there are many slips along the side of the property. The food was fresh and well prepared. There were 12 of us and they were able to deliver excellent service for us all. We ordered a variety of food, from the octopus appetizer to salads, soups, whole grilled fish and even pork chops. All of the food was prepared perfectly. The menu is extensive so there will be something for everyone, with an especially large selection of fish and meat entrees and of course several pasta dishes to choose from. It is a bit out of the way, but if you do find yourself dining here you will certainly not be disappointed.

When you step inside, however, you'll find a family operated osteria with superb attention to detail and amazing food and a roaring fire to greet you when you enter! This last feature is important if you're visiting on a cold day like we did. It's very important that you make a reservation in advance as you will not be seated without one. We arrived right as the restaurant opened for its dinner service and within an hour of arriving the whole place was full of locals having dinner. They offer separate Italian and English menus which was a big help because not all the staff speaks English so it helps break down the language barrier and makes ordering easy if you don't happen to speak Italian. We ordered four items: Starter: bruschetta (the tomatoes were extremely flavorful and had an oil mixed in that really made the flavor pop) First course:tagliatelle pasta with porcini mushrooms (a local mushroom that accented the pasta very well) Second course: veal cheek (amazingly tender and served with a delicious sauce) Side dish: mixed vegetables (accented the veal cheek very well) I'm knocking off the final fifth star on this review because of an incident with our bill that occurred that was very unappreciated. At the start of the meal, we decided to not order any wine when initially asked by our waiter because we'd been drinking prosecco all day and felt the need to hydrate with water. About 10 minutes later, the restaurant's sommelier came out with a bottle of red from the cellar that he brought us "to try" so we could see if it was something we would want to order. He filled our wine glasses a normal tasting amount. While a tasty red, we again declined to order a glass of wine. When the final bill arrived we were surprised to notice they had charged us 5 euros each for wine. When we asked about this (because again, we declined twice to order wine) we were told it was for the tasting. I really didn't appreciate this bait and switch tactic so be advised that if they come out and offer to have you "taste" a wine you'll be charged for the tasting. Despite this, however, we had a great experience in this little local gem and would definitely return.
