I called to make an appointment and it was a 9 month wait until they could get me in. When I got to…read moremy appointment, I mentioned some changes to a few moles on my body. Dr. Neal came in and three minutes later the appointment was over. She looked over my body in less than a minute and spent the other two minutes telling me to wear sunscreen, which I have always done. I had to pay an $80 copay. The appointment felt very rushed, she seemed to be in a hurry and didn't stay to answer my questions about what skin care products I should use beyond sunscreen. I felt invisible and like she was too busy to spend time educating me, and because I have a family history of skin cancer, I kind of wanted to make sure I was doing everything to prevent it and maybe learn about what changes to moles should be concerning. If I did have abnormal changes to my moles, they wouldn't be able to see me in time anyway. 9 months and $80 later for a 3 minute visit. I will not be going back and I would not recommend anyone here.

I checked in and waited a whole hour. Appointment was at 2pm everyone that showed up after me all…read moregot seen or called to the back. I asked to reschedule, they didn't even acknowledge or apologized that they've forgotten about me.

Dr Sarah Vieta is an absolutely OUTSTANDING and caring dermatologist and surgeon. She took over…read morethe practice from an equally great Dr. Candace King. Under Dr. Vieta, the multi year waiting list to become one of her patients continued to grow. She has the knack for remembering the dermatological concerns of each patient, and always uses the best approach to help the patient, not just to maximize profit for the practice. Genuine love and concern for her patients shows in her work and in the staff she had picked to work with her, such as Lori and Stephanie and Ashley and many others. That office has always had a special camaraderie that is unique and hard to develop. The office as Pinehurst Skin Surgery had the reputation as the best medical office in the Sandhills. Many other dermatology offices focus on only one thing and on profit. Not Dr. Vieta as long as she is in charge of how the office is run. There is an irreplaceable value attached to the continuity from knowing a person's medical history and a person's skin history in the same office, rather than just doing surgery. Dr. Vieta and Dr. King both succeeded so well, and are so appreciated in our community because of the continuity they provide -- and to an approach that continues to provide the least invasive surgery, or most conservative alternative, with biopsies and surgery used only when necessary. Both my wife and I have been the beneficiaries of absolutely outstanding care from Drs. King and Vieta for about a decade, with multiple surgeries that represent the skill of plastic surgeons -- and also avoidance of many surgeries that others would rush to perform, because of their concern for the patient first. Thanks, Dr. King and Dr. Vieta.

I have been a patient at Cary Skin Center in Southern Pines for several years and have had…read moreexcellent care, especially at the Cary, NC facility. Recently, it seems that they are trying to reduce their patient load. I had an appointment June 25 (apt made Jan 19) and the day before the appointment they called me to reschedule. There was an issue that the practitioner was not able to be available that day. The next available apt time was 4 weeks away. I arrived at the appointed time on the 24th of July. Upon arrival I was told that my apt was at 12:45 not at 1:30 and that they do not see anyone after 1:30pm. Receptionist said she tried to call me the day before but no answer to tell me of the change. I explained that I had a very serious skin issue that needed to be taken care of. They would not see me and I had to go to the Pinehurst Medical Center walk-in center for treatment and prescriptions. I do not know what they are doing at Cary Skin Center but they have lost a customer. Also, on my last visit there I observed a patient being told that he did not have an appointment and that he would have to reschedule. The patient was adamant that he had a scheduled apt. Makes me wonder about their intentions.
