Andrea stuck with the rose's and white's and I stayed with the red's. Our host was Lucas and he did a fantastic job handling us and multiple patrons at the same time. I could never do this job even though I love wine and can be mediocrely knowledgeable about it to most tourist, but I don't like people and am not into idle chit chat to entertain the peeps. The wine they make you can only buy at the winery and most of it is good and a few bottles are really good. For the tasting you pick 5 from a much larger list and with all tastings at pretty much all wineries we have been to there are always extra splashes of a few other wines as well, typically with the verbage along the lines of, "This one was opened by accident so may as well pour it" or "The new guy thought it was on the list today", or "We just found these in the back and thought it would be a treat". Funny how the extra pours always seem to be on sale by the bottle, Today Only!!! Need to get that FOMO in. Speaking of by the bottle. After the tasting we grabbed a bottle of champs and headed over to the deli for a baguette, cheese and some grapes and onward to the grass. I was eyeballing some tasty looking prosciutto, salami and other assorted meat goodies but opted out since I would be the only one devouring them. Pro tip....if going to buy a bottle for an onsite bring your own wine glasses to avoid the small plastice tumblers. We usually carry double walled stemless aluminum champs and wine glasses with us if not for picknicking for use in hotel rooms and by the hot tub. Also, the restrooms were pretty gross and needed to be cleaned more frequently. Other than that this was a fun place to visit! The best thing about Alpha Omega is that is that it's very family friendly. Not many wineries welcome children and this location was very accommodating. Our children were well behaved, I kept them occupied with lots of arts and craft activities, but my child still end up knocking over a glass of wine. Our server Jokayla was so gracious with us and helped us clean up. She was also very accommodating with everyone's taste preferences and offered customized recommendations for us. This is one of the wineries that did not require an upfront charge to enter which I appreciate so much. Not everyone in our party drank. Up to 2 adults can share a $75 flight of wine. If you purchase 2 or more bottles of wine, the tasting fee is waived. The pours are also plenty so this is a great deal. I just loved their flexibility. Valet parking was free! The winery is upscale, with beautiful views of the vineyard and the water fountain if you get terrace seating. We had reservations for 10:30am and had front row at the terrace. We stopped in recently with a friend, who is a member of a partner winery, that provided the…read moreopportunity for four of us to taste for free (worth $95/person, according to their website). Since wine preferences vary from person to person, this review will be about the tasting experience only. The tasting started with their sparkling brut rosé, which was pretty tasty, however, it seemed to lose its bubbles after a short few minute walk to their fermentation and aging facility, which indicates to me it had been opened for quite some time. The "tour" itself lasted less than 5 minutes and didn't really come with too much of an explanation--it was more or less just allowing us access to the winemaking facility and showing the barrel room. The tasting was seated in their covered, outdoor patio--a beautiful space--a included 3 wines in addition to the brut rosé: 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, 2022 Cabernet Franc Blend, and the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon 'RLC'. One thing I really dislike about Napa Valley tastings is when they pour you wines you cannot buy because they're available to club members only. It's quite pervasive in the valley and unfortunately, Crocker & Starr was no different. The 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc was only available for purchase to club members. In addition, if you like to know the technical details for each wine, they do not have any tech sheets/production notes available on their website or at the tasting. They provide empty bottles of the wines in the tasting, however they didn't match the vintage so it wasn't even possible to know basic information like the ABV of the wines. It immediately sets off alarm bells in my mind when a winery is opaque with the winemaking/product details. Some of us want to know the final ABV, RS, TA, etc, and to not have this information available anywhere is quite bizarre, especially with many producers moving toward more transparency rather than less. Our host was friendly but not necessarily super knowledgeable about the production of the wines. For example, when we asked about RS in the Sauvignon Blanc, she started talking about brix at harvest, which unfortunately has nothing to do with RS in the wine, which she later claimed was 0g/L--a value that seemed contradictory to the palate experience of the wine and impossible to verify without tech sheets. Overall, it was a standard tasting experience and from where I was sitting, not at all worth $95/person. Yes, I get it--Napa is expensive and they're selling "experiences" rather than tastings. However, based on our experience, this was merely a tasting and you can get a lot better ones for cheaper in the valley.

He has that rare ability to be both incredibly knowledgeable and effortlessly approachable, guiding us through the wines without ever making it feel scripted or overly formal. We were greeted with a beautiful sparkling wine to start, which was not only refreshing but also elevated the entire experience right out of the gate. It felt thoughtful, intentional, and frankly, a bit luxurious. And then, the pistachios. Such a small detail, but exactly the kind of touch that separates a good tasting from a memorable one. Perfectly paired, subtly reinforcing the wines, and just another example of how dialed-in the experience was. Geordy struck the perfect balance of education, storytelling, and hospitality.
