The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between Napa casual and relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive. The deviled eggs were excellent. I usually prefer mine a little chunkier, but these were much creamier than I'm used to and still really flavorful. They also have a great wine and beer selection. We also shared the dry-aged burger, which was a special the night we visited (unfortunately I didn't get a photo), and it was great. The French dip in my photo was another highlight. The beef was tender, the bread was excellent, and it all came together really well.

Went there for a late dinner. Still light outside and it was nice to have a view of the busy restaurant and back and side gardens. Good service and knowledgeable staff. Sishito peppers were the started with the beet salad. Both were super fresh. Beets were cooked perfectly and generous dressing was applied! Peppers were not hot but were blistered nicely and dipping sauce was perfect for balance with acidity. We shared the special meat platter. It was ok.... Pulled pork was tough. Not a good choice in future as it is on the lunch menu Ribs were great. 3 ribs were cooked and seasoned well. Nice acidity so The sauce was not too sweet. Slaw was great and provided balance Mac and cheese was made with white cheese and while rich it was not overwhelming Chicken wings were a hit. Cooked perfectly and seasoned with a bbq sauce that was well balanced. A hit for next time.

Always a great experience at this restaurant! A round of applause from my family to the chef & helpers ! The food was amazing! Never disappoints . Is best to make reservations but walk ins are welcome! We had burgers, steak, beet salad ,biscuits, Mac & cheese, chocolate chips cookies and ice cream, everything was so delicious!!! the waitress was super attentive & checked on us often! Highly recommended all the food tastes fresh

After a disappointing experience last year, I decided to give this place another chance, and it completely turned my opinion around. The service was on point this time--very prompt and attentive, unlike my previous visit. I ordered the pork chop, and it was cooked perfectly. The meat had a great bite to it and wasn't dry at all. The portion size was still huge and no fly issue this time (visited in May).

We went without a reservation and got seated fast at their outdoor dining area, it was quite hot that day so we were sweating while we ate. Food came fast and delicious. To my surprise my favorite dish was the caramelized beets! You can make reservations online so do that to get indoor dining area otherwise it will be too hot to eat outdoor during summer. Everything else is great though!

Had a large group of 14 girls (a restaurant's worst nightmare, sorry). They seated us outside at the annex, and combined 2 tables together to make a super table (huge thanks to them). Want to say Kevin was our server, and he did a fantastic job! Ordered a huge array of drinks which came out very quickly. Had a huge variety of food from oysters, beef tartare, beets, burgers, salads, etc. Saw they had also had a grass area you could seemingly rent out for a private event. Parking lot on the smaller side. Impeccable and genuine service, stunning ambiance, and tasty food. What more could you want?

One at aesthetically gorgeous place ; with an expansive garden full of herbs, flowers, fruit trees it truly does feel like a lovely little farm. But you're not here for that you want to hear about the food. After a day of wine tasting this place really hit the spot. We got a couple salads, steak tartar, delicious French fries and a bunch of Juicy drinks. Our server TK was super helpful recommended dishes and drinks for us top notch all around great guy . The girls and I we had lots of fun at our visit to The Farmstead.

We came here in February for my husband's birthday and had such a great time! I guess February isn't wine season because we didn't have any problem getting a reservation for winetasting or the restaurant. The food at the restaurant was really good. I think the execution of the dishes was just really great, the flavors were spot on, and the textures were really good. The beef tartare was really nice, the cornbread was OK, but the steak and the pork chops were so good! I found my pork chops so good that I didn't even wanna share with my husband. I packed the rest home and let me tell you, I was scraping the plate to get every last morsel of food in my to go box. My husband's steak was wonderful, and we love when steak comes with fries. The service was also really great, people were very friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a good dining experience that won't break the wallet and I recommend doing it after the wine tasting as well.

I've come here many many times, so I can't believe this is the first time I'm writing a review. On this last visit, my friend and I were seated outside, and started our lunch with some rose since it was hot. Things we ordered: *Beef tartare - good *Wings - love me some wings! *Mac and cheese - this was delicious *Burger - we had ordered this with fries instead of crispy potatoes, though it came out with the crispy potatoes to start, and we had to ask again for the French fries replacement I will say that a lot of the time, I've sat inside and the place gets really loud and busy. That said, the food has always been a hit and a definite go to when in Napa!

That burger was absolutely boMBBBB with their spicy garlic aioli sheeeeeesh!!!!! The arobio rice was so gooooood and the potatoes on the side were amazing! Everything is farm to table and its so goated!!!!!! It is on the expensive side but its worth it once in a while. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and the ambiance is great! Service is good as usual.

So who would have thought that on a Thursday afternoon you need reservations for lunch, well you do or opt to sit in the bar area, which we did. Service is on point; folks are bringing out water, taking drink requests & making recommendations as to appetizers - take them up on any new offerings. We tried their fried faba beans, what a delicacy, delicate, very well executed! The mains were: an order of their homemade chili, crab roll sandwiches & a salad, with an order of mac & cheese. Nothing was left, so must have been delicious all around, as I heard no complaints. The setting is causal, there's lovely seating outside for those who made reservations; the inside bar area was lovely as well & if you suffer from allergies, go for the inside. Definitely a return spot, shall be doing on our next wine tasting trip up.

Can never go to St. Helena without stopping at Farmstead. Their food is always phenomenal and their service is great. I really like that their menu is seasonal and they do an awesome job at highlighting local ingredients. This time, I got the pulled pork sandwich and the beet salad - both were amazing! Special shoutout to our server Hannah for being so lovely. My friends and I also really enjoyed their peach frosé. We sat inside because it was so hot when we visited but their patio is lovely in cooler weather. 10/10 would recommend!

What are your Friday night hours?

On Fridays we open at 11:30am and our last reservation time is 8:30pm.

When i try to make a reservation, it requires my credit card information, is there a fee for making a reservation? will all food ordered for that reservation date be charged to that card?

No fee for reservation but may charge your card for failure to show. Pay for your food however you want when there.

There used to be a free biscuits offer upon using the Yelp check in. Cannot find it now? Anyone know if they still offer this?

No they do not offer this anymore. A lot has changed since then, portion sizes are also much smaller and prices have jumped up but the menu is still exactly the same...

    Gluten free options?

Yes ! I am celiac and they have many options here! On their current menu, I know they were able to make these items (or these items are already made) gluten free. Always talk…

Is the wine tasting the same location as the restaurant?

No the wine tasting is setup across the lil step from restaurant to the store where tastings and pairing occurs. Ryan is a Great sommelier definitely go see him you want be disappointed.

Can you provide more info on the wine and food pairing. Interested but I don't see anything about it.?

Its low key in the store across from the eatery

    Is there vegan options?

    Yes

Do you have anything vegetarian beside salad? Can you substitute your meat with impossible meat?…

There are so many veggie options. The beet salad is amazing and a work of art. The artichokes are charred to perfection. They come up with different salads on a regular basis. Just delicious!

How do we do the Yelp check in?

You go to your yelp account and click check in under your profile once you're at the restaurant. Then, show it to your server to get whatever special they have for checking in.

Hi, are small dogs allowed in your property?

Hi Jinky, we do allow leased pets at our Garden Lounge area, which is available based on order of arrival.

Can someone post a photo of outside tables just wondering if we can still enjoy the place and food in case it rains? Do they have tents or just umbrellas?

Don't have photo, but since I live near, I can tell you have one very large tent and a few smaller scatter around large gardens surrounding the main dining area. Further, they have large overhands along the north side for outside dining. There is…

    Is there a corkage fee?

If I recall, there isn't a "corkage fee" but rather a $10 donation that goes towards whichever charity they are supporting that month. I imagine it's for fire victims currently.

Since wine preferences vary from person to person, this review will be about the tasting experience only. The tasting started with their sparkling brut rosé, which was pretty tasty, however, it seemed to lose its bubbles after a short few minute walk to their fermentation and aging facility, which indicates to me it had been opened for quite some time. The "tour" itself lasted less than 5 minutes and didn't really come with too much of an explanation--it was more or less just allowing us access to the winemaking facility and showing the barrel room. The tasting was seated in their covered, outdoor patio--a beautiful space--a included 3 wines in addition to the brut rosé: 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc, 2022 Cabernet Franc Blend, and the 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon 'RLC'. One thing I really dislike about Napa Valley tastings is when they pour you wines you cannot buy because they're available to club members only. It's quite pervasive in the valley and unfortunately, Crocker & Starr was no different. The 2025 Estate Sauvignon Blanc was only available for purchase to club members. In addition, if you like to know the technical details for each wine, they do not have any tech sheets/production notes available on their website or at the tasting. They provide empty bottles of the wines in the tasting, however they didn't match the vintage so it wasn't even possible to know basic information like the ABV of the wines. It immediately sets off alarm bells in my mind when a winery is opaque with the winemaking/product details. Some of us want to know the final ABV, RS, TA, etc, and to not have this information available anywhere is quite bizarre, especially with many producers moving toward more transparency rather than less. Our host was friendly but not necessarily super knowledgeable about the production of the wines. For example, when we asked about RS in the Sauvignon Blanc, she started talking about brix at harvest, which unfortunately has nothing to do with RS in the wine, which she later claimed was 0g/L--a value that seemed contradictory to the palate experience of the wine and impossible to verify without tech sheets. Overall, it was a standard tasting experience and from where I was sitting, not at all worth $95/person. Yes, I get it--Napa is expensive and they're selling "experiences" rather than tastings. However, based on our experience, this was merely a tasting and you can get a lot better ones for cheaper in the valley.

He has that rare ability to be both incredibly knowledgeable and effortlessly approachable, guiding us through the wines without ever making it feel scripted or overly formal. We were greeted with a beautiful sparkling wine to start, which was not only refreshing but also elevated the entire experience right out of the gate. It felt thoughtful, intentional, and frankly, a bit luxurious. And then, the pistachios. Such a small detail, but exactly the kind of touch that separates a good tasting from a memorable one. Perfectly paired, subtly reinforcing the wines, and just another example of how dialed-in the experience was. Geordy struck the perfect balance of education, storytelling, and hospitality. You can tell he genuinely cares about the wines, the property, and most importantly, the guests. There are a lot of great wineries in Napa. Experiences like this are what make certain ones stand out. The barrel tasting was great and surprisinly all their wines are pretty drinkable right out of the barrell I suppose because they dont have much tannins so they dont need alot of tiem to mellow. I liked most of them but at $250 a botttle I felt they were way overpriced compared to other high end Napa area wines we are familiar with. After the cave tour they sit inside and you get to try several more wines so we had plenty to drink. We tasted five different wines, and they all had their own character and flavors. But my favorite by far was the La Fantasia Frizzante Rose. This one really surprised me. It was naturally sweet, light, and slightly sparkling, with a really juicy fruit flavor. I got a lot of strawberry and berry right away, with that sweet-tart fruitiness that reminded me of fresh summer berries. There was also a little pomegranate and raspberry flavor that gave it a brighter finish. It was refreshing, smooth, and just really easy to drink. Out of everything we tasted, this was the one I kept thinking about. Definitely my personal favorite.

I've booked a tour and tasting of this wonderful castle experience. A lot of wineries up tastings,…read morebut they don't really allow you to tour the facility. This tour took you into the bowels of the castle where you got to see where they stored the wine and places where the wine was made. Believe it or not this is an unusual experience and I would say worth every minute of the tour. Having said that this is a castle that was brought over from Italy brick by brick. So the dungeon isn't a real dungeon and the tunnels aren't exactly tunnels from the 1600s but still you get the feeling of how the Winery operates. It's truly an experience that you won't have anywhere else in Napa. They also have a mini animal farm on the property that you see once you exit the facility. This is a nice little experience for the children who go on the tour. The gift shop is actually an excellent one with unusual items not normally found in the local gift shops. I purchased several of their aiders as gifts and everyone loves them. If you can order them online, I would do so they're very unusual and a great gift for wine lovers.
