My first appointment I waited 1 hour, which I see people have issue with on the reviews. The truth is- sometimes specialized care takes time. If you have questions for the care team you expect them to take time with you. The one hour wait is not an issue when you consider this isa surgical office that sometimes has pop up emergency patients. The office was kind to me when I checked in. I saw the Dr. who answered all my questions and had an immediate plan of care going into the appointment. Then I sat with Evelyn to schedule. She is wonderful! So clear and assuring in her demeanor and very knowledgeable about insurance policies. She was also so easy to reach when I had questions post scheduling. Another shout out to Natalie who helped me with all the confusing paperwork that was needed by my work for time off. I don't think I could have figured it out without her! Im still healing, but I feel like I was taken great care of and so lucky to have Dr. Mirhashemi operate on me given his expertise in his field. It seems like it was quite the procedure and he was able to complete it all laparoscopic, something a lesser surgeon could not.

You're very very lucky.

I saw Dr Taylor for 2+ years and had several surgeries done by him. Unfortunately, my case is…read moreoutside of his specialty (RVE) and he advised after my last surgery that if it doesn't work, he doesn't know what else he could do for me, so I have reached the point where I need to consult with an Endo specialist surgeon(s). I really appreciate Dr Taylor's candidness, willingness to listen, and his ability to admit when something was outside of his realm of expertise. Thank you for everything you tried to fix me (and shout out to Gloriella & Natalie for all your help & support too)! As a side note, the office does do everything manually (no MyChart, email, etc) which makes things less convenient and there is usually a substantial wait for appointments, but otherwise you're in good hands!

I was absolutely shocked to see the facility when I walked in. It looked more like a back alley clinic. Half of the forms had handwritten places to sign and it was PACKED in a tiny room. My regular doc is at the main Providence facility, so I expected it to be similar since this is also Providence. Dr. Taylor is a butcher. I have never in my life undergone such excruciating pain during a culpo. I have 10 tattoos and a very high pain threshold and was begging him to stop. At one point, I almost passed out and his response was, "just pass out, you're on a table." When I asked how long the extreme pain would go he said "I don't know" and looked at the nurse. There was absolutely NO bedside manner or consideration of the fact that if a 40 year old woman is writhing in pain, something might be wrong. 7 hours later, I'm still in immense pain.

Upon…read morearrival, I was greeted by very sweet and welcoming Tiffany, who went above and beyond making me feel welcomed, informed of what to expect and appreciated. I also had similar excellent experiences with Marisela also at the reception desk and from nurse Karina. Dr. Nguyen by far exceeded my expectations in many ways. He was extremely patient and listened to everything I said, asking questions for clarity in between, making me feel very informed, safe and no longer worried about the upcoming surgery. He spent about an hour with me, taking time to explain everything about my condition, treatment and surgery. He actually provided a much better solution than the first provider and doctor that I went to regarding my condition, a solution that involves much less surgery and will allow part of the condition to heal naturally with a dietary supplement while allowing for much better end-result and much less likely to have the condition return and need surgery again. Throughout the process, it was very evident that he truly cared about me and my care. This was especially evident after he looked at my chart and completed intake forms where he noticed that my mother and maternal grandmother both passed after battles with cancer. Since I lost my beloved mother at the young age of 46 when I was just 23, one of her last wishes was for me to be genetically screened for cancer since it runs in our family. I am now almost 50 and have asked many doctors over the years for this testing and none thought it was necessary. Dr. Nguyen actually suggested and recommended that I get genetic testing, specifically because of the rare adrenal cancer that my mom suffered from, I didn't even have a chance to ask and he already recommended what I have been wanting for close to three decades, fulfilling my late mother's request. He is truly a remarkable physician and is an incredible asset to City of Hope and its patients and I am forever grateful to have him for my upcoming surgery and for allowing me to be able to do genetic testing so I can prevent any potential cancers due to genetics. I highly recommend Dr. Nguyen to anyone in need of oncology or surgery in his respective areas of service.

I had an extremely frustrating experience trying to schedule an oncology appointment for my mother…read morethrough this provider. Over several days, we dealt with repeated communication failures, lost information, excessive hold times, and multiple disconnected calls. One scheduler named Jasmine behaved unprofessionally during the call, including singing/humming while assisting us, and ultimately disconnected the call after we expressed frustration with the process. When I called her direct line again, she kept rerouting me to keep me on hold and then she picked up and disconnected the call by hanging up on me again. After filing a complaint through my mother's insurance provider (Medicaid), the office apologized during a three-way call and promised that a supervisor named Adrianna would contact us the same day. That callback never happened. At this point, I will be filing a complaint through my mom's primary insurance provider (Medicare) and other oversight agencies. At a time when families are already under stress trying to coordinate medical care, this level of communication and professionalism is unacceptable. I hope management takes these complaints seriously and improves how patients and caregivers are treated.

Their staff is nice, in person and the NP is good, I've never seen a doctor there, again I'm assuming it's because my cancer isn't as "bad" as other cancers. Doesn't make it any less scary when it's your first time though.
