I had a very troubling experience with Dr Andrew Blank that I feel compelled to share. Back in 2021 he diagnosed my 2 year old son who was speech delayed with fluid behind the eardrum. Naturally we were concerned but also somewhat relieved thinking this could explain the delay and might be treatable. However something did not sit right with us so we sought a second opinion from a specialist at NYU the very next day. We were told definitively that there was no fluid behind our son's eardrum. When we asked if it was possible for fluid to disappear within a single day the specialist made it clear that this would be impossible. This raised serious concerns about the accuracy and intent of Dr Blank's diagnosis. What made the situation even more confusing was that despite telling us there was fluid present which could explain the speech delay Dr Blank immediately insisted that we pursue early intervention services anyway. That contradiction left us questioning whether he ever truly believed his own diagnosis. Taken together the experience left us with the strong impression that the initial diagnosis may not have been made in good faith but rather to encourage unnecessary follow up visits. As a parent it is incredibly unsettling to feel that your child's health may not be the top priority. I would strongly advise others to seek a second opinion when dealing with similar situations. read more

We originally brought my daughter to see Dr. Blank for a second opinion. She had been suffering from chronic recurrent tonsilitis. He did a thorough, complete history and exam. He patiently answered all of my wife's questions and discussed the different treatment options. My daughter had a flare of her tonsilitis while away at college. Dr. Blank went above and beyond our expectations and worked closely with the doctors up at school to make sure that she was treated appropriately. He is extremely knowledgeable and nice. Dr. Blank is absolutely the best. After being seen by another doctor at his office my conditioned worsened and I was in a great deal of pain. I was given an emergency appointment with Dr. Blank and it was the best thing that could have ever happened. After my first visit with Dr. Blank, I felt so much relief. He has a fantastic bed side manner and TAKES HIS TIME. Because of this, you may wait a little longer to see him, but be patient. He is WELL worth the wait. I don't know what took me so long to write this review but Dr Blank is THE best! My son has been coming to him since he was 8mths. Dr Blank has performed 2 successful surgeries on him. Dr Blank is very competent and blessed. When my son hears that he is going to see Dr Blank, he is the happiest lil guy. Dr Blank makes me feel comfortable, I have nothing to worry about because I know my son is in good hands. May God continue blessing him and his family. I also must say his assistant is a sweetheart. I brought in my son to see Dr. Blank because he has fluid in his ear for about 6 months. He can't see his ear canal because of ear wax in it. He proceed to remove the ear wax out with small stainless steel scissors-like device in his ear. I am cool until this point. Because children cannot sit still or tend to move around his head, you have to be extremely careful. Dr Blank is very careless about this. He put the pointed device in his ear, but he did not secure the device: there is 1 inch space between my son' head and his hand. If my son moves his body or his head, the device could go into his ear and my son could be deaf. Luckily, my son was sitting still. Too bad, I am not returning to this place. read more

Stay away from this quack ! He put tubes in my daughters ears and left one in it lodged in her ear drum, when I asked him he got nervous looked off to space , he knew he screwed up ! Dr. Blank misdiagnosed my daughter. Brought my daughter here three times. Should have learned my lesson the first time. He is more interested in his computer and technology than his patients. He misdiagnosed my daughters ear problem. I kept insisting that her ear was infected. He insisted that it was a jaw problem by jabbing his index finger into her jaw. She screamed and cried. He needed to relive his point. I kept insisting that if her jaw hurt it was because something was bothering her at night while she slept. He gave me a dirty look, took his light out and looked inside her ear. He then said to me "I'm glad you are persistent. Her ear is infected." He is cocky and childish. Although Dr.Blank might know what he's doing as far as an ent I felt like he had terrible bedside manner. This man should not be working with children. He never once smiled at my son, barely spoke to us while we were in the room, didn't respond when my son tried to be social and funny. Dr. Blank was dismissive and condescending when I explained my symptoms that have been truly awful and have kept me out of work for a week. I never miss work. He was sarcastic and seemed exasperated when I asked any questions. He made no attempt to explain or consider the cause of my ailment. He lacked any empathy for what I've been experiencing and referred to my situation as "boring". I thought I was there to receive professional treatment from someone who cared, not to entertain. Dr. Blank might know what he is doing but he is not great with kids. He is rude and wants you and his assistant to hold your kids down so he can look in their mouth or nose. I don't think that holding a kid down is the right way. He doesn't even attempt to talk to my son and explain why this is important. He right away calls his assistant to hold your kid down. My son is going there for treatment; he is terrified of this place and doesn't want to go back. I made my following appointment with a different doctor. My daughter, who is 11 years old, had a tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy done by Dr. Blank 7 years ago. He is a great doctor, great with children, good sense of humor but also very professional. He doesn't beat around the bush, he tells you like it is. My daughter saw him for swimmers ear in August, she had a pretty bad case, he took care of it. I am also a patient as well. Both myself and my son have seen Dr Blank. I had previously seen several ENT's regarding problems I was having with my ear and got no answers. My son, daughter and I go see Dr. Andrew L. Blank and he's phenomenal in my opinion. My son was getting speech therapy for about 2 years and speech therapist recommended to see an ENT because his speech was not getting any better. I told the therapist my son has been seeing an ENT for a year and was diagnosed with enlarged adenoids and has been treating him with Nasonex nasal spray so the therapist recommended to get a second opinion so my pediatrician recommended Dr. Blank and what a God sent. Not only did my son have enlarge adenoids his ears were so full fluid and enlarge tonsils. Long story short Dr. Blank removed my son's tonsils and adenoids drained all the fluid from his ears and got tubes. Now my son's speech has done a 360 and my son doesn't get speech anymore and doesn't say "what" all the time. Thanks Dr. Blank. read more

My son is 7yrs old and has been a patient of Dr. Blank's since he was 2yrs old. When my son see's Dr. Blank he runs up to him and gives him a big hug. Dr. Blank jokes around with my son and does tricks for him to make him laugh and feel at ease. His whole staff is wonderful and friendly. What child isn't going to be afraid of being examined by a doctor? Its a scary thing for them. When my child was younger I had to sit him on top of me and hold him while Dr. Blank used whatever instruments he needed to use to exam my son's ears, nose & throat. It took awhile but my son now sits by himself while Dr. Blank exams him without a problem. Dr. Blanks tells you and your child what he needs to do, but its our job as parents to explain and make our child secure. We are all in this together child, parents, and most importantly the doctor. The goal is to treat your child's problem, and Dr. Blank does that. Great doctor but also great person. read more

My son had a simple procedure done by Dr.Blank and we are pleased with the results it was quick and my son recovered just as fast. The staff I spoked to were pleasant specially the medical assistant. I have had visits with Dr. Blank on two different occasions. The office space is child-friendly as there are toys and trinkets for the little ones to play with and a TV for them too! The office staff was professional and courteous and so was Dr. Blank. I must admit that on my first visit, we waited a long time. It was during the post-work evening rush. However, for the second visit, I was in by 8:30am and out by around 9:30am. Dr. Blank had examined both me and my 2-year old son. My two year old had a hearing test done during this visit as well. I think the wait time depends on the time of day you book. But one thing is for sure....no matter what time of day I visited, I was greeted by a professional office staff and doctor and a child-friendly and clean environment. I can happily say that after 40 years of breathing difficulties, Dr. Blank changed my life! Not less than that. Only reason I don't give 5 stars is because of his surgery coordinator, who lacks in basic manners. She doesn't follow up, and when reminded about it - no apologies granted... no smiles, no "hi how are you?/please/thank you" etc... you would expect at least basic manners from a Doctor's office employee. Don't visit Dr. Blank. I have the same opinion like other reviewer Monte. The doctor is not at all kids friendly. My son was so brave to get the flu shorts and other doctor checkups. But after this visit, he doesn't want to go to any doctor office, he is so scarred. Also for a single visit just for the checkup, the office charged me $600. Both of my kids have been patients of Dr. Blank. He is very thorough in examining each child, and has an amazing bedside manor with kids. My son is not that easy with doctors, but Dr. Blank puts him at ease and quickly relaxes him with his humor. everyone at the office is helpful and courteous. Dr. Blank is great with children and has a great bedside manner with them. My 7 year old daughter was treated by him for recurrent strep and snoring. He recommended minor surgery to remove tonsils and adenoids. We did not listen to the doctor initially being concerned about the procedure. Well a year went by with recurrent strep, we brought her back in. Dr. Blank and he did not say I told you so, but rather, explained how in certain cases the procedure is unavoidable unless you can stand by while the child gets sick throughout their adolescence.
