He will also recommend herbal remedies and dietary changes when he thinks that will work better than prescription drugs, which is rare for western doctors. I hope this isn't how she interacts with all patients. In my experience working in clinics, it's crucial to communicate with patients in a respectful manner. The front desk staff are often the first point of contact, and politeness and respect should be core values in any clinic. He provided me with informational documents about dust mites and products that would be effective against dust mite allergy without trying to sell me anything. The only negative thing I could think of was that Dr. Menchell did take a longer time than I expected. Being thorough is good, but the process could have been much quicker. That being said, I would definitely recommend Dr. Menchell to anyone suffering from allergies!

They scheduled me with a doctor who was on leave, then told me to come back the next week--only to find out the doctor was on vacation. Then they said the appointment was booked by mistake again. Naturally we were concerned but also somewhat relieved thinking this could explain the delay and might be treatable. However something did not sit right with us so we sought a second opinion from a specialist at NYU the very next day. We were told definitively that there was no fluid behind our son's eardrum. When we asked if it was possible for fluid to disappear within a single day the specialist made it clear that this would be impossible. This raised serious concerns about the accuracy and intent of Dr Blank's diagnosis. What made the situation even more confusing was that despite telling us there was fluid present which could explain the speech delay Dr Blank immediately insisted that we pursue early intervention services anyway. That contradiction left us questioning whether he ever truly believed his own diagnosis. Taken together the experience left us with the strong impression that the initial diagnosis may not have been made in good faith but rather to encourage unnecessary follow up visits. As a parent it is incredibly unsettling to feel that your child's health may not be the top priority. I would strongly advise others to seek a second opinion when dealing with similar situations.
