My family has been using Dr. Mittleman for about 35 years now. That is a long time. This office is very centrally located right off the Long Island Expressway right across the street from the Blue Bay Diner. Very small parking lot but there is plenty of street parking. Dr. Mittleman is a true gentleman, a nice man. He is the doctor you want to see. He took care of my son year's ago and now my wife. He is a delightful-warm personality person. Always a nice smile. His office is run by three efficient-caring ladies. We came in and ready to see the doctor within minutes. They take a tremendous amount of insurance plans and we cover the copay with flex. I only give four stars for sad that he retired, but it was so deserving. One of the last real doctors who did not succumb to joining corporate run practices such as Northwell(which btw way tried to recruit him, but he declined)and cared about his patients and had a great rapport with them. The only word I have for him is AMAZING!!! We walked in and as we were talking to the receptionist,the doctor came to drop off a file, he smiled and said hello. When we got into the room, he brought us candy!!! He already was good in my book! But as we started talking, he handed me a printout and said he knew exactly what my brother had... an offshoot of regular vertigo. Dr. Mittleman's motto is that he treats patients like family. Nonsense. I've seen him a couple of times, most recently on March 5 (2 weeks ago). The first time I saw him, he saw a lot of swelling in my larynx and sinuses and prescribed a steroid treatment (if I remember correctly). I told him that the problem recurs several times a year, where I get similar throat/nose/ear symptoms, and he said I should call him the next time I had a flare up and he'd see me right away or call in prednisone to manage the symptoms. I then saw him 2 weeks ago on March 5 with ear pain, but he did not think it was part of a flare-up. Today, on March 22, my symptoms have become unbearable, especially the swelling in the larynx. I called his emergency line. He returned my call quickly enough, but was very rude and abrupt. He said it's been "too long" since he's seen me (really??? 2 weeks???), so he wouldn't be able to talk to me by phone, so I should go to urgent care. He basically implied that I was no longer a patient of his and he was not even willing to have a phone call with me. Why have an emergency answering service only to tell patients -- who JUST saw you 2 weeks ago -- that you won't talk to them? He should be ashamed at treating his patients (his "family") like this. read more

Ok...I'm blown away. Dr. Mittleman and his staff have wrapped their arms around me and showed love in a business that has become extremely impersonal. His bedside manner is amazing; he's direct but very accommodating and wants you to understand everything about your ailments. At the end of the day, I haven't ever felt such comfort with a medical professional. and I would recommend Dr. Mittleman to everyone. read more

Super great with a doctor! Because I am not American I don't remember his name exactly but remember his good heart. I had lost my right ear during a week in January! It was really scary! I searched google and picked this office because of the great reviews!. They were right! He was very nice and kind to calm my fear and he was very knowledgeable. Every time he is super duper patient, super professional, and there is a genuine care for his patients. He is absolute gem! He takes his time, very caring, and really knows his stuff. I was misdiagnosed with LPR and he put that theory to bed within a few minutes. My toddler had a clump of calcified wax in his ears. I tried Debrox with no results. I knew I needed a professional and Dr. Mittleman was the way to go. He walked in with a piece of candy and began singing a children's song to distract my son from the procedures. Doc looked in his ear and immediately irrigated them. Look no further this is an amazing doctor. Our first experience was when my husband spent overnight in a hospital emergency room, left undiagnosed. Dr Mittelman is an incredibly caring,concerned,knowledgable ENT Dr.who has cared for my wife and I for about 4 years now.He has wonderful bedside manners,always providing us with as much time as we need,an excellent diagnostician,always available,a super gem of the highest order.In the last week for example I was injured by an incompetent technician in another office who hurt me during a routine Ultrasound,he saw me immediately ,gave out the appropriate medicine,completely empathized with my plight, called me immediately back when the pain continued in my throat and neck and quickly scheduled an MRI that I was able to have the same day as he has priority with the place I went to,and he took the time to have his wonderful caring staff send over the script for the test.My prior visits for throat,and nasal conditions were taken care perfectly,and during the Christmas season when everyone else is off he saw my wife who was greatly severing with severe congestion and other issues ,and he called the Pulmonologist down the block to set up an appointment for one hour later;no Dr.makes the continual concerted effort for his patients that he does, and we love him for it, and again as I previously stated he also has a top flight caring knowledgable staff to assist him.So,if you need a great ENT Dr. who cares tremendously,is extremely versed in every aspect of his chosen field,extends himself as very few Dr.'s still do,go immediately to see Dr. Mittleman for any and all issues related to the Ear,Nose,Throat,and related matters, and you will be in the best hands of the one of the finest Dr.'s I have ever met,and a super duper Mensch too! read more
