It's unfortunate that I have to write a negative review because I genuinely liked Dr. Marlowe, but…read moremy experience with the billing department has been extremely unacceptable. I had a surgical procedure on October 16th involving a middle ear injection to address eustachian tube dysfunction. This procedure had been scheduled months in advance. A day before my the surgery date, Dr. Marlowe's office contacted me and required a $450 out-of-pocket payment for the injection, stating they would work with my insurance afterward to assist with reimbursement. I paid this amount. On the morning of surgery, I arrived at the surgery center at 6:00 a.m. and was informed that I would also need to pay a $1,200 surgery center fee because it had not been submitted to my insurance for pre-authorization. The office had several months to obtain authorization but had not done so - to my expense. I was told that if I did not pay the $1,200 that morning, the procedure would need to be rescheduled. After waiting months with intermittent hearing in one ear, I felt I had no choice but to pay. It has now been four months, and I have not been reimbursed for either charge due to repeated billing errors. My insurance company has issued multiple denials based on incorrect coding, missing documentation, and failure to submit required retro-authorization forms. Each time I follow up, they tell me "it's resolved on their end." It's "resolved" because I paid it! Unless I consistently pursue updates myself, no action is taken. I carry excellent insurance coverage, and reimbursement should not be difficult. The issue is not coverage -- it is the repeated failure to properly submit documentation and carelessness of the office because they are not out the $1,650, I am.

I have radiology reports back at least ten years stating "grossly deviated septum with spur" and was told I may have skull base tumors. I simply wanted the procedure to clear my sinuses. I brought CT scans, MRI, even my laptop with dicom medical imaging reader. He was rude, had his medical assistant open up the images in another room and didnt go over them with me, despite me bringing my laptop and disc player into the exam room. Despite knowing I need a FESS, despite my insurance already approving the procedure, he came back into the room and told me I was fine and didnt need the FESS. I was very surprised because I went to the appointment with the intend on scheduling surgery. I said, "what about my deviated septum, can you fix it" and he looked surprised and LIED to me (his facial movements and eyes let me know he was lying) and says, "its not that bad". I also brought along my medication list. He saw I already take 40mg of Protonix for GERD, and yet the only thing he did do was write me a second Rx for Protonix, that I didnt need. This was a waste of my time, waste of $45 copay, waste of health insurance payout. Do not beLIEve the 5 star reviews as he pays people to write them. Worthless. This guy Marlowe is worthless. Find another ENT. EDIT: to add the CT Scan from 2021 he said "looked fine" has this Radiology report: "septal deviation, convex, airway obstruction 50 - 75% and septal spur". A simple google search: "A convex septal deviation with 50-75% airway obstruction and a septal spur indicates a significant deviation of the nasal septum, likely causing noticeable breathing difficulties and potentially other issues like sinus infections. The deviation, especially when combined with a septal spur, can create a significant narrowing of the nasal passages, leading to impaired airflow." This doctor, Dr. Marlowe is a loser who is afraid to do ENT surgery. AVOID HIM. EDIT #2. When I showed Marlowe the Afrin/Lidocaine nasal spray that ENT Associates of Manatee gave me a few years ago, he looked stupid and asked me why they would give something like that to me. IDIOT. Please google: ENT Afrin/lidocaine. Avoid this guy.

He carefully interviewed me for almost an hour and came up with a diagnoses and a game plan that worked almost immediately. Awful taste in my mouth was the main problem. A taste I could not live with. Dr. Eric Loch was filling in for my awesome Ear, Nose Throat Surgeon - Agnes Nall when I met him. She had performed a total thyroidectomy on me a few months ago and scar was very small and positioned in natural neck line, compared to what I was seeing with other surgeons. Anyway she was on vacation and my mystery could not wait. I was really impressed I received the same careful care I received with Dr Nall with Dr Eric Loch. This issue was about dentist and oral surgeons vague with me but claiming I needed like four different RE-Route canals in my upper mouth and it just really became clear I had something wrong with my sinuses although no stuffy nose at all. Dr Eric Loch figured out I had something simple but rather serious that also alleviated OTHER problems I was having such as blood pressure constantly high no matter how many BP meds I was on. His diagnosis was tentatively (until formal sleep study) Sleep Apena. I am not sure I really believed him until I got home and began protocol for sleep apnea and read up on it. This explained blood shit eyes, awful snoring, high blood pressure and constant lethargy, among other symptoms that can be anything. My life got better VERY FAST because of Dr Loch. He gave me like five simple things I could do right away, and the next morning I felt better than I have in a few years. And by the way if they have to scope you its so simple you wont even notice. They can go down all three ports at once, very fast and took like a few seconds. My weekend was so great, it was the first weekend I felt really good in a long time also. Bottom line I had sleep apena bad and snoring is not normal. There are dentist trying to market sleep apnea products but I do not think they let saliva move or address the nose (which is the most important thing to address) so I will go with equipment about the nose. So Manatee Ear, Nose Throat are ALL really good specialists and I noticed most of their staff are patients. One has constant tinitus. So they seem to also recognise their staff are important and seem to treat them really well.

I reached out to Sarasota Immediate Care as well as Quest Diagnostic. They said it must of got coded wrong or something and it was be taken care of. But I continued to get bills and it was going to go to collections. I reached out again to find Sarasota Immediate Care had closed. Then I read about several horrible reviews about this doctor not paying vendors or employee's. So basically he pocketed the money I paid for the service, didn't pay his vendor (Quest) so they came after me for it. Even though I had my credit card statement to prove I paid it Quest said I was still liable for the bill because the business was closed so their was no way for them to confirm that I paid it with them. So I went ahead paid the bill again to not damage my credit but this is so wrong! May this doctor be held accountable for his actions!
