After being in active treatment for a year with Dr. Harrison, I sought a second opinion. Since getting that second opinion, the atmosphere in my appointments with Dr. Harrison drastically shifted. I was made to feel traitorous. I was made to feel stupid. I was told I should blindly trust this very narrow diagnosis he had come to even when I was not responding to tried and true treatments for that diagnosis. When I asked for further imaging (MRI) I was told "No. I know what's wrong with your feet. You should just trust me." That is not paraphrasing, that is exactly what I was told.I feel like Dr. Harrison was not interested in exploring differential diagnoses and really wanted to treat me as a guinea pig for the treatment he wanted me to get which was Amniotic Tissue Injections which would have cost me thousands of dollars out of pocket, as it is an experiemental treatment and not covered by insurance. Dr. Harrison also frequently brought up political and religious topics during my appointments. It is also worth noting I almost always had to wait 30+ minutes past my appointment time to be seen and sometimes he was running close to an hour behind. Once I had an appointment and he wasn't even in the office at my appointment time. I cannot in good conscience recommend seeing Dr. Harrison. read more

Dr Harrison and his assistant Betty are amazing people. They make you feel super comfortable and will take the utmost effort to see you even without an appointment. The follow up care by Dr Harrison has amazing, his sensor of humor helps with feeling comfortable in the office, and his directions for post treatment has led to a speedy recovery for my ingrown toe removal. pros: nice office, lots of parking cons: the office either answer the calls or return the calls very late. they made many mistakes in phone number and dates when scheduling my appointment. Doctor made a rush diagnosis which was very wrong and had nothing to do with my issue. They were supposed to call the week after and tell me about the estimate for the orthotics that doctor prescribed. Three weeks passed and they didn't call. When I followed up, they casually said that I could have called my insurance and know about the coverage!!! I wanted to know about my share for the prescription, not the general coverage. At the end they sent me a copy of my insurance coverage, not actual treatment plan. very unprofessional. looked like they just wanted to get some money from insurance: wrong diagnosis, unnecessary x-ray, unspecific prescription and treatment plan. read more

The office was very welcoming and organized and Dr Harrison was very knowledgeable. He was able to take X-rays during her appointment and went into details of our plan to fix her issue. The best part of Dr. Harrison's office is his receptionist Betty. I injured my foot and it felt like I was stepping on a stone with every step. I told Harrison about my symptoms and how it felt like my plantar pad had been torn or encapsulated. He took an X-ray, showed me several extra small round bones in my foot, and told me I had a compression fracture. His exam was pressing everywhere on my foot but where it hurt. He told me to buy a boot for $250 and told me Medicare would not pay for it (they do). He said to come back in three weeks. So I cancelled my my hiking trip and wore the boot. It didn't help. I have had mri's on my rt foot years ago for an actual compression fracture and was NEVER told about the extra bones. I returned three weeks later. This time he pressed exactly where I told him the pain was. And lo and behold...he said I have a plantar plate tear. He told me I could have an MRI, but it wouldn't help. He said I would never hike or walk more than 50 feet again. He said I needed to stay off it, should stay in bed, not walk or go up and down stairs. He said I could have surgery to repair it-he started by saying he would find me a surgeon, then stopped himself and he would do the surgery. I asked about the compression fracture he mentioned before. He ignored me like I made that up. He brought up my foot X-ray from the last visit. This X-ray did not show the "extra" bones. He pointed out how my second toe was longer than my big toe and how this was causing my problems. He said he would do surgery to chop off the end of the long bone so it would be shorter. He also tried to sell me inserts for my shoes which he said Medicare wouldn't pay for either. They do. I quickly tried to extract myself from this guy's office and called my orthopedic surgeon asking for help. They recommended the sports medicine MD in their office. I had my first appointment and my MRI directly after. The X-ray she took in the office showed no extra bones nor any damage. The MRI results are pending. So if you need anything other than your toenails clipped, please find an actual sports medicine doctor. This guy needs to retire. His receptionist Betty is wonderful. read more

I was referred to Dr. Harrison via a Workers Comp claim and have called to request another referral because I've basically received no care and the worst patient service ever. My paperwork was to be faxed to the office by the occupational medicine group and then Dr. Harrison's office was supposed to call me to set up an appointment. They did not. I finally had to call them, and remind them several times who I was, what insurance I was there under, etc etc. They claimed they had no paperwork... so I called and had it sent over again. I finally met with Dr. Harrison and I was really put off by the exam room. The worn out examination chair looked like something out of a 50's garage sale, as did most of the other items in the room. (Credenza, chair etc)... Nevertheless, I was like "ok well here we are so let's just do this..." He was fairly engaged during the actual appointment and he said he would like to get my latest MRI's so he could see them. I gave him the name of the company and watched him write it down. He said he would have them sent over and contact me. Needless to say weeks went by and I never heard anything from him or his receptionist. I finally called to find out what was going on and when he called me back he left me a voicemail asking me to call the MRI place and get the files sent, because he didn't have (read: lost) the name of the facility. Against my better judgement, I went ahead and called and had them faxed over. It has been at least a month as of this writing and I have not heard anything from his office. This time I am not bothering to call his office again. Instead I have called and requested that the insurance company just refer me to someone else. Don't waste your time like I did. read more

I had a terrible experience w this guy. I didn't even make it thru the exam. * The sec'y in SJ asked, on short notice, if I could move my 2P appt to 1:30 to accommodate a chg in the Dr's schedule. Sure, I said. I arrived @1:20 at a Russian-speaking office (sorry, I only speak English, this being America) near Mt Zion Hosp in SF where the the rude receptionist seemed not to know who A Harrison was. Were it not for a PENCILED note on the door regarding Dr Harrison & the need for masks in the covid scamdemic, I would have thought I was at the wrong location. * At 2:05, 45 mins after arrival, the Dr came into the wait-room -- smartly furnished with Eisenhower-era accoutrements -- & asked me for insurance cards and CDL, which I provided. At 2:25 -- 65 mins after arrival -- he said he couldn't validate my insurance. (1) I had already been thru this with his SJ person. (2) My coverage was thru Medicare (you may have heard of it), with a supplemental excess plan. He then asked several inane questions which revealed that he did not u/stand the diff between Part B of Traditional Medicare & Medicare Advantage Part C, or how excess coverage works (it does NOT govern the primary coverage). I was startled: the age demographic of DPM patients would make one think that a practitioner mite know the difference. In fairness, the Dr has other Yelp reviews; he may be a great surgeon. Given the admin-mgmt problems above, I, for one, will not be finding out. read more

Dr Harrison explained the procedure step by step, made sure I was comfortable and answered all my questions patiently, highly recommend his services! I've had to visit Dr. Harrison twice due to ingrown toenails. My first visit was harrowing, as the last time I had experienced surgery on my feet was several years prior, but the doctor and his assistant were incredibly friendly and welcoming. They're both very polite and understanding individuals who obviously greatly enjoy their job. The actual surgery went well; there was very little pain as he was numbing my toe, and practically none afterwards. Since then, I haven't experienced another ingrown toenail on that side. When I returned for another issue regarding a different nail, the entire experience was much quicker and easier than the one prior. As soon as I walked in I verified my insurance, signed a consent form, and was promptly seated and ready for the surgery. Dr. Harrison was as friendly and open as he had been previously: happy to help his patient and make sure they were comfortable before, during, and after the surgery. I had a hammer toe for years. Not one to go to the doctor. A friend recommended Dr. Harrison. I made a appointment he took X-rays and provide specific details procedures to repair the toe. I don't usually write yelp reviews but I feel I have to. He may be the worst doctor I've ever been to. Doesn't listen. Is extremely rude. Does not let you speak or share an opinion. Thinks everything he says is right and if you disagree he is even more rude. I'm a nice person but if I was a bit different I would have told him off. I don't know who he thinks he is with the way he talks to clients. He tried to tell me my other doctor was wrong even though there's a ultrasound to prove otherwise. He called me by the wrong name the entire appt. He told me not to interrupt him. He tried telling me I had a bad insurance (as if he knows what plan I have) then found out I had Google insurance at the end and was all of a sudden more interested. Extremely rude - even one of his colleagues (who heard his attitude) apologized for him and said he 'sometimes gets in bad moods'. Harrison was my second opinion - he recommended a treatment for my child that was twice as much as the first Dr. I visited. The first Dr. (who came highly recommended) happens to be an hour away from us which is why I decided to give Harrison a shot to begin with. I immediately decided to go with our first Dr when I heard the overly inflated price. When he saw I was hesitating on scheduling a follow up for my child he said 'it's people like me who cause their children further problems'. I became a patient of Dr Harrison early this year because of what I suspected was bunion. In this case, the internet was actually right: It was a bunion! The diagnosis was confirmed via x-rays taken during our first session, and we scheduled the surgery in the follow up session. I believe this was back in February, but that's not really that important. Because my priorities are quite a bit skewed, at least with regard to my own well being, I chose to wait until April to have the surgery-- beer league hockey is important! (to me). Here's where this gets boring: The surgery went as well as can be expected, and it's been just over three months since the procedure. I am now fully active in hockey, and I'm back on my bike pedaling to work. I'm still working on getting over the mental hump required to really run hard, cut, and accelerate using the repaired foot, but I'm slowly getting used to it. It's not a pain thing or anything like that-- it's just something I've never dealt with. The worst thing that had ever happened to me prior to this was a very slight fracture to my left arm. Gotta work on my toughness, I guess. :) Anyway, back to the surgery. There are drawbacks here: a bunionectomy with an osteotomy is a relatively violent procedure (bone saws and screws, oh my!), and I'm a big heavy guy (6'5" 250 pounds). When your bones are as big and dense as mine healing can take a while. Anyway, enough of my whining: Dr Harrison was great through the whole process. He was always patient with me, even though I'm almost certain I must have asked some of those questions I had before, leading up to, and after the procedure repeatedly. He did a great job of conveying the importance of keeping my foot dry and elevated for the first few weeks immediately after the surgery. The post surgical followups all went well. Betty is also awesome. It's somewhat likely that I'll need this procedure done on the other foot. I think the strongest endorsement I can give is that if/when I need the other foot done, I'm going back to Dr Harrison. read more

I booked my appointments online for 9 o'clock in the morning, that's the first available date and time in the schedule , and few hours later doctor called me, and he said instead of 9 a.m. He can see me at 8:30am so I said okay fine, so this morning I get on my cell text message reminder for my appointment, and from the 12hrs.night shift I went directly to the address ,but I had difficult to find the building number, its so complicated so I called the office and there is a lady, she answered the phone, and I asked her to help me to find building ,I said I'm right here my navigation brought me here but I can't find the building number ,she asked me my name and phone number , and she said I'm not scheduled for any appointments this morning....???? There are far and few really good Dr.s these days. I'm so glad I found Dr Harrison, he is one of those few good Dr.s left. An excellent Dr who made it possible for me to walk again without pain after many years, I forgot what pain free meant. After seeing the head of Podiatry at Kaiser Santa Theresa, (that man was the WORST!) I had given up on there being a good Dr. and I'd have to just deal with the pain the best I could. Thank God I no longer have Kaiser and found Dr. Harrison. I had read reviews about Dr. Harrison on Yelp and feel for those people who felt they had a bad experience, I can only imagine they must have been having a bad day because Dr. Harrison is VERY patient and VERY much cares about his patients. I would highly recommend him to any and all of my family, friends and anyone in need of a good Podiatrist. He knows his business! I had a Bunionectomy done with an osteotomy (cutting the bone) on Friday, May 15th and was back to work the following Tuesday! I have had absolutely NO PAIN at all due to the skill of Dr. Harrison. I would highly recommend him as your foot doctor; especially all the people out there who have bunions that hurt them like I did! He explained everything to me in great detail and just as he said, I was able to walk and return to work in just a few days. My foot is still healing (wearing a special shoe) and I'm doing exercises to stretch out my big toe. Don't wait; make your appointment with him today! I had pain in my heels in both feet, which Doctor Harrison was highly recommended by friends. So i made a appointment on Zoc Doc , which the office called to confirm my appointment for that week. The Doctor office was easy to find, my phone GPS got me there on time, no problem. Right away Doctor took Xrays and found heel spur syndrome in both feet. Doctor gave shots to relieve pain, and made a cast and order me orthotics. Yes the shots help a lot, and orthotics help. I have refer friends to Doctor Harrison, and my Wife and son have gone to see the Doctor for flat feet. My son is now being treated for tarsal correlation, may have to have surgery. I had injured my left pinky toe and I could barely walk. My right foot was also bothering me. I went to an urgent care Center first. They took Xrays and recommended that I see a podiatrist right away. I searched my insurance company for a podiatrist and Dr. Harrison was recommended. I went to see Dr. Harrison to see what the issue was and how to see how bad was it that I had done to my toe. He took Xrays on the spot of both my feet and showed me what was wrong with my feet on the digital computer screen. He recommended surgery to repair the hammer toe and bunion on my right foot. Dr. H. is very thorough and explains and shows you the results in your presence. Betty his Receptionist and he are both very nice and kind. If I have a question they ate both very helpful. Used my HMO insurance to go have my foot surgery. Surgery was good and my insurance cover for it. However a week later I received a bill from Andrew Harrison for $250. I called the office and was told he's the assistant to dr Abe who help with the surgery. I never once was told of this nor saw this assistant's face. I told them they need to bill insurance not me and the rude lady from Andrew Harrison's office said they can't because insurance approved under dr Abe. Well duh! I called insurance and they said they will take care of this and I don't need to pay. Well today I got another bill demanding the $250 and a note that they are billing insurance for $900 in pending status. This is insurance fraud!! Insurance have a contractual agreement and they pay up to the allowable limit. This office is trying to get money from the member so they will be paid 100%. Well it does not work that way! I will be calling my insurance company and reporting how a $250 bill now turns out to $1,150 for insurance fraud. read more

Fantastic doctor. Awesome office staff (Betty is very friendly and personable). I went in with severe heel pain. Dr. did x-ray right away in his office and we talked about my bone spur and plantar fasciitis. He was very clear about a treatment plan and each step we'd take if the 1st step didn't relieve my pain. He started conservatively with treatment which I liked with a boot that stretched my ligament and he gave me some stretches to do every day (he even did them with me to make sure I was doing them correctly). Dr. Harrison has excellent bed side manner and was very clear during the entire process. 3 weeks ago Dr. Harrison did foot surgery and now I'm 110% better. Dr. Harrison is patient, he listens to me, and he healed me just as he told me he would do on my 1st visit. It was a process but he made the process very clear to me during my 1st visit. I am so grateful to Dr. Harrison and Betty for giving me my ability to walk again without foot pain. I'd recommend anyone with similar foot issues to see Dr. Harrison. read more
