A call to Grundy's office about a specific level of coverage was answered promptly. Notification of approved coverage came within a few days. This is in sharp contrast to the two other "big name" specialty carriers. One carrier, referred to me by my primary Auto/Homeowners company, and which I had used for a previous car, was curt and intrusive, took weeks to get back to me and offered less coverage at TWICE the cost! The other specialty company offered similar coverage at FOUR times the cost of Grundy. Grundy is a family-owned business and they treated me like family.

On their main page it says you can drive your car to work every once in a while so I wanted to double check that with them by sending an email. The response was less than professional. The question was never answered, instead they sent me a "ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF USE" form to sign again because I asked a simple question. The form they sent me reads: "... It will not be driven to work or school or used for business or commercial purposes..." Their website reads: "It is even OK if occasionally you drive your collector car to work to show it off to friends." They also requested that I again send them information about mine and my wife's daily drivers. Stay away, they are shady.

Since then I have unfortunately been involved in two car accidents, one of which happened last week. Both times the first thing I have been asked upon notifying Mr. Sheehan is, "Are you okay?" When you're in the midst of dealing with an accident - it's always a bit overwhelming. To have people who are kind, communicative, and fair is something that is incredibly valuable. The entire process, while emotionally difficult, has been easy. All representatives from Erie have reached out to me multiple times to make sure that I am okay, give me updates, and ask if I have any questions.
