This review is based on phone interaction only. I called to check about availability for a roof repair. Andy was very friendly and honest. He explained the status of his crew and possible delay. He encouraged me to call other businesses. He called later the same day to let me know there was a crew member available within 10 minutes. I had just received a call from another company and had accepted their service. Had it not been right before our tropical storm Bill scare (and me scrambling to get the roof repair completed as soon as possible), I would have asked Andy for an estimate and compared bids. This company is professional and sent someone out to have a first look in a reasonable amount of time. Evidently they are very busy, but things dragged on (as did my roof leaks) for weeks. At the start of the new year someone came out and was ready to give an estimate. Clearly there are design flaws with my house contributing to all of the problems, but I got the impression the estimate was going to suggest a near to total replacement. Since I never saw the estimate, I don't know but the outfit I used offered what sounded to be very practical solutions without such dramatic (and likely expensive) methods. I think this is a good company that is just too busy to take interest in servicing "small jobs". It's still worth giving them a call, but the company I used was able to come out, give an estimate and perform the work within a week. When you have major leaks damaging your drywall, time is of the essence. read more

We found some areas on our roof hips where shingles were missing and we had no idea what happened, but knew we needed them repaired. Looked on Yelp and found Andy Nichols Roofing. They are near by and had good reviews so called, described the issue and was told they would have someone call me back. Andy called me himself and then came by 10 mins later. I showed him the damage and he knew right away that it was raccoons trying to get in to my attic as he had the same problem at his own home which is close to mine. He also showed me claw marks where they were climbing up my fence to get access to the roof and clawing up the mesh vents under the eves. They could not do anything that day as it was lightly raining still. His guys came by the next day and repaired the roof damage in about an hour and a half (I repaired the mesh vents myself). Price was very reasonable and all repairs look great. Will call them again if I ever need and roofing repairs again. Thanks Andy. read more

We bought a new house knowing that we would need a new roof. Dean was WONDERFUL from start to finish. He came out and gave us a quote. He was punctual, respectful and very communicative. We were not able to do the work right away, but Dean was patient and very understanding and he kept us on his radar. When we were ready, he and his crew were right there! They cleaned up every evening, we barely even knew they were there (which I know is unthinkable!). They even worked over the New Years weekend to make sure it was done right and on time. We had siding that also needed replacing and Dean was honest and forthright about our options both financially and structurally. I understand reps cannot make an accurate assessment in bad weather so I understood it was a couple of weeks before we could finally get together. The man looked at the roof & pitch and said he would send me a quote the next day. As he left I asked if there were any issues with the roof and what materials would we be using. He said he would send quote & brochure the next day. He did. I was VERY happy with the quote but had questions on the terms & conditions. I picked a shingle style and sent to him. He was kind enough to explain the terms & conditions & reassured my concerns. He told me the shingle style I picked was not to be included in the price quote. I told him it would have been nice to know that & he referred me to the quote which noted "CertainTeed Landmark 30 year ..." which was half way down the 1st page of the quote. I still didn't understand what the heck it was. My experience with sales people from other companies is that they would have copies of the quote/terms & conditions as well as a brochure WITH THEM and when the rep left I knew exactly what I agreeing to and what I am buying (i.e. Anderson Renewal). I've never had a sales rep send me stuff by email and basically say "figure it out." When I advised I was not going to do the roof replacement he just said thank for letting us know. He didn't care why. In as much as that appears to be the attitude I'll figure it out with someone else. read more

I contacted this company for an estimate for repairs to my roof. They took a week to contact me to set up a time for someone to come take a look. I set up a time with Chris he came got on the roof talked to me and said he would email an estimate by the next day. Never received an email. Since it was before the holidays I was patient and waited after a couple of weeks I tried calling him, no answer and his mailbox was full, so I called the main number for the company and explained the situation. I thoroughly recommend this company. I had a full roof and skylight replacement done by them. Richard, the Project Manager, did a wonderful job. I was nervous about selecting a roofing company and did a lot of research before arranging for quotes. Richard patiently answered all my questions and kept me informed throughout the whole project. The project was completed on time with no surprise expenses. Cost was very reasonable in today's world. I especially liked that the contract was not written with a lot of legal language proclaiming what they were and were not responsible for in the project, They were clearly here to get the job done right. Santiago, the roofing foreman, did a great job coordinating his team and they all worked hard on a very hot day, including leaving my yard very nicely cleaned after the job. Salvador and his team did a great and quick job installing my skylight. They even went above and beyond duty to help me and my neighbor rescue my neighbor's kitten who was up in a tree and unable to get herself down. I am a first time homeowner and needed to replace my roof due to a bad hail storm. I called two different large roofing companies and received no return call from one and a return call a week later from the other. During that week I contacted Andy Nichols Roofing based strictly on the reviews from this site. Andy returned my call immediately and scheduled an appointment to come to my house the next day. Andy showed up on time, was professional and extremely knowledgeable. He inspected my roof and sat down with me to review the entire process (insurance claim) and answered all of my questions. The claims process went exactly as Andy said it would and within a couple of weeks I was scheduled to have the work done on my roof. The materials were delivered when he said they would be and the work started on the day it was scheduled. That was a big concern of mine because I have seen roofing materials sitting on my neighbor's driveways for days/weeks before the work actually started. The crew was professional and Andy was onsite periodically to check on the work. They even did a sweep of my yard with a metal detector to make sure all of the nails and screws were picked up from my yard. He followed up with me the day the roof was completed to make sure I was happy. I will do business with Andy Nichols Roofing any time I need anything to do with my roof.
