Wow!! I'd heard these guys were amazing and they really were. I mean, I'd expect this level of service from a company putting up a $50,000 roof that deals primarily in River Oaks (well, I'm sure these guys do that, too, but I just felt extra special here in Bellaire). The good stuff. 1) they had a quote to me in less than two days. No personal contact needed. 2) the quote was the same or lower as I had gotten from other companies. The upgrade was only $500 more. 3) they suggested three options which reduced my buyers anxiety 4) they gave discounts 5) when I finally returned my contract, they called the next day and scheduled for two days later 6) they came on Friday and left on Friday. And done. I got lucky but WOW, my neighbors love me. My yard was immaculate. In fact, I think it looked better...but seriously, one day!! (They did estimate 1-1/2 days but Jonathon miraculously got extra guys in, so don't get too excited for 1 day like my neighbors and me!) 7) I paid my bill timely and got GORGEOUS red roses that made my boyfriend jealous. I like to feel like I'm special, so - to even the playing field - Rose Roofing is hereby obligated to send roses. I'm certainly excited that I'll be using them again soon. We'll I had 2 antennas and I thought they were asking me about some piece left behind on the old antenna, so I said yes you can as part of it was already taken down. So I come home later and my satellite Dish is gone..no TV service. I call Rose Roofing and ask why they took it down and they said because you said so. So was a miscommunication BUT they said it was my fault that they did nothing wrong. So I have to call DISH to come out and install another one and I have to PAY for it and wait a couple days before they can come. I'm upset because it was a miscommunication and they would not own up to 50% of it. I don't need them to pay for a new antenna, I just wanted them to acknowledge it was partially their fault. An excellent service, good quality pictures of my roof and small repairs needed at a very acceptable cost. Proper typed proposal of work was e mailed to me and once I accepted the job, it was completed in three days. I am delighted with this company and highly recommend them. We needed a roof repair on a part of my roof that was collapsing with damaged shingles caused by the weight and moisture from the leaves that fall on the roof. Jonathan came out and gave an estimate the day after I requested one, then they showed up the following day for the repair (very fast response time and work!). The repair was done perfectly, the roof looks very good and we got a heavy rain recently with no leaking. Also he gave me the info on a great handyman who was able to fix our soffit underneath the roof! I hope to get about a year or two more out of my old roof (its pretty old), but when it is time for total replacement I will definitely be calling Rose Roofing for the full replacement. What a great company, barring two scheduling complaints below. Jonathan and his crew/company were amazing. I had a roof leak, and I called a local company out to quote it to figure out the issue. He quoted me a VERY high number with a large scope of work to do that also involved re-siding a part of my house. Given the outrageous estimate, I called three other roofers. One didn't return my call, one came out and never sent me the estimate they said they'd send over, and one was Rose Roofing. I only had two scheduling complaints with Rose, with one at the beginning. They couldn't assign a specific time they'd come out, but rather gave me a 3 hour window and called an hour before heading over, meaning I had to run back from work. That said, Jonathan was awesome to work with and seemed like a genuinely good person. When I asked him about doing the other work the first company recommended, he suggested we start small in one spot and expand the scope and cost if that didn't fix the issue. Duh. The day they were supposed to come out, no one showed. Bummer. No phone call either. I was going to call the next morning, but they showed up at the door at 645AM without any prior notice. Also a bummer. The redeeming grace here was that they did come out early to get a head start on things before a storm rolled in. The repair cost me 1/6 of what the first company quoted me, and it did the trick. The worker showed me where my leak originated, and they were nice enough to take pictures at my request. No leaks since, even with a couple big storms. Overall, a great experience, from talking with the owner to the crew that showed up to the office that processed the paperwork, and likely my new roofers going forward. We had suspected the area they found had an issue and they confirmed and fixed. Very reasonably priced, too. We recently had a leak of some sort in our kitchen. Called Rose and they found a nail - not a roofing nail - was creating a slight hole thru the shingles and decking. They removed it. They replaced a few shingles and charged nothing. Honest. Discovered that we needed a new roof due to hail damage. Worked with our insurance to get that part handled and started looking for roofing companies. What I liked about Rose Roofing was their open and honest conversation about our roof. Other companies wouldn't give me a quote unless I showed them the insurance statement. That wasn't the case here. Jonathan came out, measured my roof, mentioned he was giving me two quotes, 1 standard and 1 deluxe, and also mentioned that he thought we'd need additional ventilation as our roof was essentially baking with lack of ventilation. I had the quote that same day via email with an extremely fair price. We were able to promptly schedule our roof installation for the following week and got a discount for scheduling so quickly. I recommend considering Rose Roofing for your roof job. I was pleased with the promptness of the company, especially the owner's. Quotes came within 24h, he was professional and courteous at all times, willing to answer every question and to help me select the product I wanted and not what he wanted to sell me. Not pushy at all and no used-car salesman tactic: much appreciated! I originally wanted to simply repair my roof, but the comfort factor I got from Rose Roofing decided me to just go for a full replacement. The installation was very fast and fairly good, and the clean-up afterwards was fair. In terms of price, Rose Roofing was very competitive vis-a-vis other Owens Corning Platinum installers and extremely competitive compared to a similar non-Owens product. I am not sure if Owens has the best shingles out there.. (my research says that for sure they are not much worse than any other brand.. and in fact superior for both construction and warranty) but if you choose to use Owens, I'd seriously give Jonathan Rose a call at once. read more

I am selling my three year old home. The buyer hired Rose to inspect the roof. He gave the buyer a $400 estimate to nail down some loose flashing. Since I need to get the repairs done ASAP, I used Rose but feel really gouged. A young man who barely spoke English spent 30 minutes on my roof. So $400 for half an hour of work: that is ridiculous. And it was just one guy doing the work. Might have been a little easier to swallow if they sent two people. My recommendation is to get at least 2 other estimates before hiring this company. read more

This experience was as GOOD as it gets! I am part of a 3 unit townhome and we all needed the roofs replaced. So there were 3 families asking questions and having issues all on ONE job. Ken was endlessly patient and his bid was clear and fair - his workers were polite, neat and worked non-stop. The work started and ended exactly as he had stated it would. The foreman even came in the house to check my attic and see if there were any gaps with vents. Ken came by the site several times during the job to check in with his workmen ( his permanent crew ). I used Angie's List and called Rose Roofing to take a look at a leak I had. It seems that the glue used at the base of each shingle to keep it from flapping up in the wind had come loose in a small area over the dinette area of the house (south side of the roof). So what was happening was that in driving rain with wind coming from the south the shingles would lift because of the wind and the rain would blow in under the shingles. Over time it was enough to create the leak I saw in my ceiling. He did a full inspection of the roof and didn't see this problem anywhere else. I got lucky this time because the leak stain area over the dinette table was only about the size of a half dollar. It may have taken a lot longer for me to notice the leak if it had not dripped a few drops of white sheet rock residue onto the dinette table. It was a quick fix for the tech to apply glue and solve the problem with very minimal cost. Two things worked in my favor, the young man who came out was the Company Founder's Grandson, so he was literally around roofers his entire life and wise about roofing way beyond his age. The second thing was that he was honest. They are an "A" in all of the categories with hundreds of reviews on Angie's List. Paid company 3 times to fix the same leak on a roof that they installed. They gave up! Applied TPLO to the roof but not over the leak and instead of trimming the excess and sealing it they just folded it over and nailed it to the trim of the house damaging the flashing and fascia boards underneath. Not to mention it looks so so bad. Looks like a 5th grader did the work. Cut to 3 weeks later and many desperate call to Rose Roofing still no corrections of their mistakes. Did not keep the site very clean, no introduction of a foreman on-site to coordinate with during the process, had to follow up with them to correct bent gutters, trash in neighbors' yards, cleaning up our stucco. Placed dumpster in driveway without even knocking on the door and allowing us to remove our car. Roofing work - assuming it was fine, but no review by a supervisor or owner's rep. Ours is a 19-years old, 3-story house. A gutter came loose due to high winds last week. We also needed roof inspection after a hailstorm 3 weeks ago. After being stood up by 2 other companies, and a third one quoting $350 before even looking at the work, we called Rose Roofing. Someone showed up at the promised time on a weekday, when no one was at home. Afterwards, they did not call us, so we followed up. We were told that the roof was good for at least 5 more years, and the gutter was fixed as well. Biggest surprise was that they did not charge us labor or a trip charge. Rose Roofing (Jonathan) was great at communication and answering our phone calls, but the quality and work ethic of his hired hands left much to be desired. They were hired to replace our roof and we had asked them to address a specific spot on the roof that needed special attention. The roofers neglected to do so. When we called asking that they fix that specific area, they came back and fixed a different area that we were unaware of, in addition to the area in question. This left us wondering what else they neglected to do correctly and possibly cut corners on. After only seven months, albeit a nasty season with severe weather and heavy rain, we noticed there was a leak in the bathroom from the roof vent. They came out to repair the leak, but refused to repair the internal damage the leak had caused. We now have to replace the wall and ceiling due to water damage from faulty installation. A reputable company would have fixed the collateral damage, knowing this was a result of their mistake. When it comes to the roof on a home - quality and reliability is imperative. Next time I will pay a little more and get a better guarantee. read more
