For about a half mile north of this newer beachfront city park, Volusia County has designated a dog-friendly zone for an 18-month pilot program as of Nov. 1st, 2023. Specifically, leashed dogs are welcome on 0.6 miles of driveable coast from Rockefeller Dr. to Millsap Rd. However, when we arrived in Ormond Beach around noon on the first Sunday of December, high tide had recently peaked and was still receding so driving onto the sand wasn't possible. Instead, we parked for free in the Andy Romano Beachfront Park lot, adjacent to the Millsap Rd. car ramp, and walked down to the sand. The park itself, including its beach, does not allow dogs, but we had no issue parking in the lot for free with our dog and entering the beach on foot via the car ramp. Even with the driving lanes through the sand, the beach here is rather narrow... but that means a minimal walk to the surf. Plus, the sand here is so very soft! And clean! Of course, the Atlantic Ocean is colder than the Gulf of Mexico, but the waves are much more impressive than on my side of Florida. Because this lot is right next to the car ramp, I would park here again in the future & walk to the sand. On our visit, plenty of open sand was available near the closed vehicle ramp so we had a very short walk from our car. We saved the entrance fee but still had decent access to our car. The parking lot at Andy Romano Beach Front Park is a good size, and was barely half full on our visit. Also, the family-style bathrooms are large, clean, & adequately stocked. read more

Saturday August 12th, Together Kayla Beth Fields and I took Saige & Deacon to Ormond Beach to the Tony Romano Beachfront Park. It's literally on the border of Daytona Beach & Ormond Beach. The Parking is limited but free! There is a building with bathrooms & placed to change. Today the beachfront access was closed due to repair work from Beach Erosion but you can walk to end of parking lot and walk down car ramp to Beach. Be careful because cars can enter the beach here for driving and parking. The beachfront park offers public showers, picnic tables under shelter, grills, playground and Splash pad...all for free use! First come first served on the grills and picnic tables. Stopped at the Andy Romano park after spending a day at the beach but unfortunately it's Currently covered in rust and chipped metal due to Erosion From the water and other climate changes not really safe for the kiddos and they shading to the park is gone. Ormond Beach at Andy Romano Beachfront Park is wonderful. After a rainy drive from Tampa, shopping to kill time, and late lunch , we made it to this beautiful gem. Rainy cleared up perfect for our beach time here. This beach is so clean, has ample individual bathrooms, a handful of showers, free parking, picnic area and nice walk to the beach, we were settled. It's a wide beach so we didn't feel like we were right next to people like sardines. Water is fresh here in the summer time. Not like Gulf beaches. The breeze was unforgettable especially for a July day. This beach is perfect except it's not dog friendly. It's still an amazing beach that is stress free where you can just sit back and relax. Located in Ormand Beach, just north of Daytona Beach, this park boasts close to the beach parking and that means just a short distance to haul your canopy, chairs, cooler, and other gear onto the wide, clean, sandy beach. Closely following this benefit are the multiple clean family and gender specific bathrooms, splash pad, play equipment and seating in the area just before the steps down to the beach. Did I mention close parking? The two times my family and I visited, we found parking onsite. The first time spaces abounded because, I believe, we arrived earlier in the day and it was in April, that time period between Spring Break and Summer vacation. On Memorial Day weekend, most recently, we needed to drive around the lot a few times until a spot opened near where we could secure it before other vehicles did. I found the regular turnover of parking spots surprising due to the lovely benefits of this park. If you find it difficult at first, stop a the restroom location to unload, if you can, and then resume the search for an open spot. This park is worth the wait! read more

This beachfront park has it all- close lot parking and beach parking, covered picnic tables, a splash pad, a playground, showers, clean bathrooms, a concession stand, and lifeguards. Fine sand beach without too many ouchies to hurt your feet as you walk around barefoot. The hurricane washed away much of the beach last Fall, but thankfully every aspect of it is now reopened except for the stairs and disabled access ramps. If you're parking in the lot, you have to walk around to the car access point in order to get to the beach. We usually get there pretty early and then try to make a later lunch reservation somewhere nearby to make the best of our time there with small kids. read more

What an amazing view of the ocean to enjoy whilst your child plays on the playground and my toddler definitely had a blast playing on the splash pad and enjoyed the sandy beach! She kept splashing and soaking herself, she just loves the water! I would highly recommend checking out this park with a snack bar and more, you won't be disappointed and it's a sure way to tire your kin out for a nice long nap! We'll be back and we'll be bringing a pail bucket with some sand toys for her to play on the beach after she visits the park! read more

Andy Romano Beachfront Park in Ormond Beach is a perfect beach getaway for a family! Below is a rundown of what I liked about it: 1. Parking is close to the beach, and it is free! 2. There are lots of family restrooms (with changing tables), covered picnic tables, several water fountains, and outdoor showers. 3. It is a kids dream with a covered playground AND a splash pad! 4. There is a small concession stand, but it is also within walking distance to restaurants. 5. The beach is beautiful and the sand is soft. 6. There's a lifeguard on duty. I went on a Friday and got there early in the morning to snag a parking spot. I imagine the weekends are crazy here, so be prepared for that. The bathrooms looked like they could use a wipe down (I did not use the changing tables because they were very dirty). It must be difficult to keep enclosed bathrooms clean with wet feet running in and out of them all day, so my tip is to wear shoes when using the restroom. Overall, Andy Romano is an excellent choice for a beach day with kids! Come early for the parking. read more

This beach reminds me of Pompano Beach down south if anyone know it. There is FREE parking which is always a perk! The facilities are right there and they had a cleaning person cleaning them throughout. They are all single stalled family style ones (6 I think). The beach was great! Busy, but everyone did their part to stay at least 6 ft from each other on the sand. Ok....why 4 stars not 5. Well, I saw a shark...twice. The first time I saw it, I went to the lifeguard stand and the lifeguard told me it is was just a dolphin. I knew better, but it was only about a 5-6 footer. A little while later, another beach goer screamed SHARK!!!!!!!! and I turned around and there it was. We rushed out of the water. The lifeguards did not make others get out though. I was a bit surprised that it was not taken as seriously and it was DEFINITELY a shark. Would I go back? Sure! Why not?!?! Will I trust my own judgement more...YES! read more

They also have a small playground, a water feature for kids and tons of picnic tables. Overall, this is one of the locations we like to go for beaching. Be warned: parking can be difficult. The lot is ample. However, this is very popular with local families and they get here early. So be here by 8am or after 4 pm. read more

Very glad the city bought this land and built this. Great lace to walk after eating at the many restraints in the area. The little kids have a splash park and a playground. The information boards are very nice and there is sunrise service on Sunday's if you are up early. The food selection is very nice and diverse for a beach concession stand. read more

There are many parks in Daytona, this is a really nice one. It has easy parking, great clean facilities, play areas, and sitting area with roof. It has easy access to the beach and a great view. There's a large free parking lot, nice bathrooms, a cute beachside stand for Italian ice and sunscreen, and several great outdoor water showers to rinse off the sand. There are also several grills, a decent number of updated picnic tables, a cute gazebo, and a fun splash pad and playground. And then there's the beach with lifeguards, located in between areas where cars are allowed to drive/park. We were on a trip to Daytona Beach and was planning to park on the beach but the tide was high that day so the parking guard told us about this park that he always takes his daughter to and I am so glad that he did. It's about 3 miles from the original Daytona Beach entrance but I didn't mind because the beach is the beach and on top of that, parking was free compared to the $20 beach parking. Once we got there, parking was the next project. It is very limited in parking and you may be waiting for 5-10 minutes but I say it is worth it! They have individual bathrooms to change in that are large enough to fit 2 people and they also have a kids water park and dry play area if they're not into the salt water. The showers are also right before you hit the beach so everything was very convenient and so very clean. I enjoyed this park a lot and I don't think I will park anywhere else when I come to Daytona Beach! read more

This park is right on the beach, need I say more! Small playground, Water sprinkler in ground system for kids to play in, picnic benches and a food vendor. Get here early on busy days, parking is limited. Also this is a really good place to park when going to the beach. Fantastic beach park! I can't believe it took someone this long to build a splash pad at a beach park- genius! This park is new and pretty clean. There are 4 large covered pavilions you can rent but a friend was saying the rental fee is over $300 for the day. There are also several cement picnic tables that are partially covered and are first come first served (you can't reserve these through the city). In addition, there are uncovered cement picnic tables scattered about. We got there early one rainy Saturday to snag some of the "first come, first serve" tables for a birthday party. There is a concessions stand in the middle of the park with a playground on one side and the splash pad on the other. There are showers at the top of every exit from the beach and near the splash pad. The playground is quite small and isn't too little kid friendly but at least its covered. The splash pad is pretty basic but its nice to have another way to get wet that doesn't involve salt water. TONS of kids were enjoying the splash pad on the day we were there. It was almost too crowded. The concession stand sells your normal beach food faire- hot dogs, chips, ice cream. There are lots of family restrooms around the main building and a single men's room and single woman's room. Unfortunately there are no indoor showers. It would've been nice if the ladies/men's rooms had more than one stall. It also would've been great if they would've added an indoor ladies (and men's) changing/shower area. The park is non-smoking but people were smoking regardless. There is a lot of free parking at the park and the park itself is just a dozen or so stairs from the sand. The portion of the beach directly below the park is the drive free zone so safer for little ones. The beach itself was ok- there was a good amount of trash in the sand and nasty smokers dropping their butts on the beach. Lifeguards were on duty while we were there. The county placed little placards with information about the local plant and wildlife that were interesting. There was a park employee cleaning and trying to keep the place neat. Some of the people using the park were making his job harder. One group of idiots gave their kids water balloons. The kids proceeded to throw the balloons all over the place and left the latex pieces behind. Great way to kill beach wildlife! Such a pretty beach park being ruined by people, what a shame! Another group left their trash about and used some kind spray chalk on the nice new pavers. I found myself picking up balloon bits all day. Still, probably one of the best beach parks I've been to. I think this park will set the standard for parks to come and with a few minor improvements will be a 5 star park. read more

This may be the perfect beachfront park. Free parking, clean, lifeguard and fountain. My mother in law loves to come to this park to watch the toddlers play in the bubbling fountain. She claims that there is never any trash lying about and the families are very respectful about keeping it that way. There are picnic tables and grills to help make the perfect beach day. read more

This place is fantastic! Get there early to get a parking spot because this place fills up fast. Our toddler adores the splash pad. We spent a morning here hanging out at the splash pad, chilling on the beach, and our toddler played on the playground, too. Super family friendly! There are a good amount of picnic tables and some grills for cooking out on. There are family bathrooms with ample room and changing tables for the little ones. We bought ice cream for the family from the concession area - four treats for $8 is a good deal, in my opinion. Beach employees do a nice job of maintaining the area. When we were leaving the beach, an employee was washing off the stairs to prevent too much sand build-up. This may become our new beach spot when we're in the area. Highly recommend! read more

Awesome place on the beach! Plenty of free parking. They have a shaded play structure area that offers the kids something to do that's not in the hot midday sun or tropical rain. There are also clean bathrooms with changing areas. There are picnic tables with shade and adjoining grills for anyone to use. I really like the snack stand with cold cokes and hot dogs. I spent all afternoon here with the kids after we checked out of our nearby hotel. They had so much fun! We will definitely go again. read more
