4 reasons to come to this park. ***NEW INFORMATION*** There isn't any fee for everything I'm mentioning EXCEPT the front part of the off beach parking area ****** 1st is MY reason: I go here because it has 2 fenced in HUGH dog play areas. My girls go into the small dog play area while yes, big dogs go in the other one. Each play area has benches, water and poop bags in different areas of the park. (Some people leave balls there also otherwise, you bring your own) I walk the perimeter while the girls run after me and the other dogs. My 2 rescues "mother/daughter" duo are still puppies, full of muscle and need to run for their exercise. (for me to rest because they are a handful) 2nd: There is A children's play area. I know they have swings slides picnic benches but I'm not sure what else because I don't have a child to go there. I hear all of the children laughing, having fun so I'm sure it's pretty nice. 3rd: They also have back to back courts for... I know one is basketball, the other one may be pickleball? Not quite sure but again I see lots of people playing on the courts even if I'm not paying attention to them 4th: Which is most likely you wanted 1st is the large parking area across from the beach As you first drive into the park, there is a huge off beach parking area where You can (of course) park and walk right across to the beach. * BE AWARE, It is no longer "free" parking (just like ALL the parking areas in Volusia county) **The parking areas are free for local residents as long as you register with your car license plate and proof that you are indeed a resident here. ***I don't know what the policy is, you will have to look it up in The Volusia County rules I do know it's $20 a day parking (and all the parking areas now) BUT, I do know it is a great park with something to do for all AS for pictures, I will put them up when I go again BUT, here is a shot of my cute ladies and something strange that someone put up. Great park on the highway! Ample parking spots (more than 1 lot). Clean bathrooms by the beach as well as by the playground & fields. Nice large & small dog off-leash fenced areas. Worth a stop! read more

If you in the area and a wonderful place to take e your fur-baby for a fun day, look no further. The dog park is separate into small and large areas. Great spacious areas too. This fantastic park located in Volusia County and offers tennis courts, basketball/handball/pickle ball courts, fields, play equipment for children, nice facilities and a fantastic dog park! And, There are nature trails for walking too. Highly recommend this park if traveling in the area and your 4-legged friend needs to let off some energy. read more

Took the pups here for a nice 1.5 mile walk from lake to beach very nice trail and one of the largest dog parks i have seen has a large dog and small dog side -- very nice day and park would recommend with your fur kid if in the area and would come again read more

We are in town for vacation and saw mixed reviews for the dog park at Bicentennial Park. Knowing that there had been aggressive dogs in the past, we made sure to keep an eye out for trouble. When we arrived, a group of dogs surrounded our dog and initially everything appeared normal. Our dog starting running around the park as she usually does in big open areas, but every time she stopped, the dogs surrounded her and were getting more aggressive each time. Things started going downhill pretty quickly. The other owners did nothing to call their animals away from a building situation, so we called our dog and started walking back to the gate to leave. As she was running, another dog cut her off and bit her in the hip. No damage was done. Another dog then tried to hump her at the gate. I had to physically remove it from my dog and from the area just so we could get the gate open. We were there for less than 5 minutes. During all of this, the other owners were near a park bench talking and did nothing to defray the situation. We gave the park a shot, but it didn't work for us. It might work for you. My biggest issue was the lack of oversight from the other owners. read more

Beautiful Bicentennial! Bicentennial Park is a great retreat for both adults and kids. It's basically a beachside park with all the facilities of a regular park! It's a great place for family retreats, date nights, or to just get away from it all. The Good: Plenty to Do: Of course the first thing you'll probably hit at Bicentennial Park is the Beach, and honestly who would blame you? It's beautiful, and there's hardly ever anyone ever there, so it's very private. But let's say you want to do something else. There's tennis courts, a volleyball setup, and even a playground. And if you're looking to make a day of it, well there are covered picnic tables for your use. Not Just Cheap, Free!: Anyone who visits the Daytona area often knows that the free public beach is a dying breed, so it is nice to see that some still survive The Bad: N/A Bicentennial Park is an absolutely darling public beach with enough facilities to be a full-fledged park even without the beach. Stay for an hour or stay for a day, because this place is almost never crowded, and well worth the drive if it is out of your way! Overall 10/10= Better Get to Bicentennial read more

While on vacation looking for something different to do during the day besides lounge around lazily the beach, we decided to drive the short distance here from our resort, park, and see what the place had to offer. After reading the other reviews, I was very excited to find out that the place did, in fact, have a nature trail to walk on and not just a mini playground and baseball field. With that said, this place is accommodating for everyone, whether you want to play tennis or picnic or run around with your dog. The nature trail was smaller than I expected (I believe it ended after you crossed the road to the beautiful fishing dock/gazebo on the Halifax River), but it was still a nice, hilly hiking trail with plenty of lizards darting in and out of the foliage. As far as the beach, if I ever visited Ormond again, I would pack the car up everyday and come here just for the shore. Not only was it secluded (there were maybe 4 other people within a half a mile radius of us on either side), but the beach itself was gorgeous with orange, pebbly sand and no giant resorts blocking any sun. Would definitely recommend this as a nice getaway from the beach crowd. read more

This is a great park over all. The park extends on the east side to the ocean and to the west to the intercostals waterway. The river side also has a fishing dock and a canoe / kayak launch. There are a couple softball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts and racket ball courts with covered picnic tables to get out of the heat or the sporadic rain. There are short sandy hiking trails that you can take your dogs on. There are two separated dog parks areas as well with one for large dogs and the other for small dogs. Plenty of watering stations and bags for picking up after your dog. The trails have a few hills that my wife's 5 pound poodle finds interesting. A small playground that has been renovated for the kids. The parking gives you access to the beach so it is a great place to stop for any activity you wish to do. read more

Parking (key!) Crosswalk to the beach Picnic tables and covered area (to duck in during one of the afternoon thunderstorms) And nice trails to bike or walk down. If you don't live beachside (and even if you do) sometimes you have a carload of beach accessories for a full day of sun. I love Ormond Beach because it's never very crowded, and you don't have to deal with crazy spring breakers or a bunch of frat boys. You can see windsurfers out, doing their thing, most afternoons, which is really cool to watch. I've watched shuttle launches from here too, and meteor showers on the beach at night. If you happen to need something, there is Publix just up north on A1A and a shopping plaza to the south at Granada and A1A. read more

RATING FOR THE DOG PARK ONLY. I give it 3.5 stars. We just found this park and we will be back. Its in a nice park and close to the beach. Its not a dog beach but it is about 1/2 mile to the beach. The park has two parts, one for little dogs (and this is all grassy) and the big dog part. The big dog park has lots of sand and bushes and trees and grass too. Our dog enjoyed this park. The other dogs (and people) were friendly. Its a pretty big park and he like roaming around and going behind all the bushes and finding hidden trails. There are two drink stations there and doggie bags and for the most part its a clean dog park. I only saw one pile of poop not picked up. The dogs were all friendly and some regulars there were friendly and welcoming as well. We will be back but will bring the bug spray next time as well. This is my second favorite park next to the one in Deland. read more

Dog park review from a DC visitor. It's absolutely brilliant. There was so much room for our puppy to run! The sand and natural atmosphere was great. It's completely fenced in, and there are water fountains for the dogs. There's also a fenced off area for small dogs. It's a really great area where dogs can tussle about in sand and grass. read more

Bicentennial Park - Parks Near Me - Ormond Beach, Florida

We just moved here from Orlando 6 months ago and absolutely love this park. We come at least once a week with our kids.

I've never been to this park, per se, but it is adjacent to the most beautiful stretch of beach in the Daytona Beach area. Once you get past the condos just south of the park, S.R. A1A runs along a this pristine stretch of beach for a good 20 miles. There's parking on the shoulder every few miles, and walkways to get you over the dunes. Unlike the rest of Daytona Beach, the beach here is narrow, soft and overlooked by steep dunes. It's a very tranquil atmosphere, and you're guaranteed to have the place pretty much to yourself. The lifeguard towers only go up so far, so be careful if you're swimming. It's a great place for a day (or night!) at the beach, or just for a long drive up to Flagler and back. read more

It's a great little trail with two dog parks. One dog park is for large dogs, the other for small dogs. Both have watering stations and bags for picking up waste. I run the trails about every day. Nice hills (probably the only hills in the area to run over). Book ended by the ocean to the east and the Halifax river to the west. There is a fishing dock on the river side with Kayak launch. There are a couple softball fields, basketball courts, and tennis and racket ball courts with covered picnic tables in the park and out on A1A. A small playground that appears to be closed for renovations at them moment. Parking with access to the beach. What's not to like? read more

I am now coming back to Ormond Beach on the weekends and this park has a great dog park. One side for small dogs and one side for large ones. These are huge areas the dogs have plenty of room to run. They have water stations on each end and I hear they are building shaded areas for the dog parents. read more
